“Jill is a VERY trustworthy animal lover, and we are so grateful we found her! She takes such good care of Bubba our disabled cat and Gia. If you need someone to take care of your fur babies, this is the person to go to!”
“Alishia is a great neighbor and dog sitter! I highly recommend. She was communicative the whole trip and made sure my dog was fed, had time to potty, and even some cuddles. I felt my dog and home was safe with her visiting when I needed her. Even when my dog fell sick, she went the extra mile to keep me posted and checking on her. I’m glad she is local to Chapel Hill and will be using her services again.”
“Katie was marvelous with Princess and Gizmo! She truly understands the boxer breed because she is also a boxer mom. When we got home last night from the Green Day we could tell they had a great time with Katie! In a month and a half we will be going to Orlando, FL for a vacation and Katie will be called upon to care for Princess and Gizmo again ! Thank you Katie for taking such wonderful care of our fur-babies!”
About: I am 24 years old and I have had all kinds of pets ranging from Rabbits and fish, lizards and lobsters, cats and dogs, lions tigers and bears...well...maybe not those last three! But I have cared for animals my entire life and I am excited to make a career out of it! I am ecstatic to help you establish and maintain and wonderful environment for the furry members of your family! Pet care is a full-time job for me! I can be available five-days a week, until somewhat late into the evening, and my schedule is somewhat flexible when it comes to spending EXTRA time getting fuzzy cuddles ;) I allow pets to decide what we do. If they'd rather lay down and take a nap, I can step back and let them be independent, but if they get the zoomies I am eager to let them get that energy out. I also enjoy using training time as a means of giving and receiving pet attention, making basic training fun and exciting for the pet.
About: I've had pets my whole life. I also worked at a dog groomers, where I learned how to care for others' dogs aside from my own. I am patient and really love animals! I have my own business where I mostly work from home so my schedule is generally up to me. I also have a dog so I have time set aside for taking care of him. I have a backyard and a friendly, calm dog to keep them company. We can also keep them in separate rooms if needed. I can crate your dog if they feel safer there.
“Madison exceeded all expectations! Our regular pet sitter had an unexpected emergency right before we left on a two week trip, the longest we’ve ever been away from our two fur babies. Needless to say we were devastated and left scrambling to find a reliable and trustworthy substitution. Madison did a meet and greet beforehand to explain her qualifications, answered any questions we had, and made sure to thoroughly understand the expectations of what we needed done to ensure peace of mind for us. She provided extensive details for us everyday and sent cute pictures of our animals so we could get a glimpse of how they were faring while we were away. She really takes the time to get to know the animals and it is reflected in her outstanding work ethic how much she truly cares. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone needing a sitter. Thank you Madison for providing excellent care for our babies, you made our vacation that much more enjoyable knowing there was once less thing to worry about back home!”

About: I have been pet sitting for over 15 years. I am a true dog lover with 3 dogs of my own. I am also a dog foster! Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I am a stay at home mom with 3 dogs of my own. Your pup will never be alone for more than 4 hours at a time and most days no more than 30 minutes! I have a fenced yard, 3 pup play mates and endless love to give. Your pup will be part of the family while they are in my care.

“We just love Cassy! Our puppy loves her, too. She plays with him and gives him lots of attention. We’re very grateful we found her. Super sweet and responsible.”

About: I myself have a spunky 3 yr old border collie/shepherd mix. We have worked with a trainer to channel her high energy drive. Because of this, I have learned ways to overcome a lot of challenges dog owners face & how to build healthy bonds. With me, you wouldn’t be getting just a regular walk or play! We will learn cool things together & have so much fun while doing it 😎 In addition to my own current fur baby, I’ve owned two other pups as well as fostered back home in WI. I dog sit for friends, families, and neighbors. I treat your pups just as my own 🐶 I work M-F at home and have a very flexible work schedule as well as being completely free on weekends! I am able to do drop by visits and walks just about anytime you are needing! The same trust and care that my own receives is exactly what yours will too! I take great pride in ensuring all pups & homes are safe in my care.
About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember — growing up, my family had dogs, turtles, birds, rabbits, and lizards, so I'm just as comfortable with cats and small pets as I am with dogs. I also attended a high school built around animal care, giving me formal training on top of a lifetime of hands-on experience. On top of that, I'm a college graduate, which taught me the same things animal care requires: personal responsibility, patience, and attention to detail. I treat every pet like it's my own: same routine, same patience, same attention to detail every single visit. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I have a flexible schedule with steady availability throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and extended stays. I always confirm exact timing with you directly so visits fit your pet's normal routine. Since all my visits happen at your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I'd want for my own, securing doors and alarms exactly as instructed, keeping to the routine you've laid out, and never deviating from your pet's normal environment.

About: I love dogs and have had my own for nearly 10 years. While I'm new to Rover, I'm no stranger to taking care of dogs of all ages and energy levels. I'm experienced with administering all types of medications as well. Please feel free to reach out if you're looking for a reliable and flexible sitter! I work from home and have plenty of flexibility during the day to assist with whatever is needed, including drop-ins, walks, or overnight care. My priority will always be to keep the pet as comfortable as possible by sticking to their normal routines for meals, walks, play time, etc. I'm no stranger to that in my personal life with my own pet.
About: I have a 4 year old golden and have many years of experience with dogs and cats alike. I grew up pet sitting neighbors animals, and my friends always trust their dogs with me. For in house boarding, I will treat your pet as my own. For drop in services, I will play with your pet and give them love and attention. I often pet sit for friends and family and am looking to expand my services to my surrounding community. I work from home and can let your pup out on lunch or before/after work. I usually take my hour lunch between 12-1 pm or 1-2 pm. I begin work at 7:30 and get off around 4:30 pm. I have a fenced in yard with a pool, a golden retriever, as well as a cat. If I’m coming to your home, I will provide the utmost care and safety as if it was my own home and my own pet .
About: I have worked at a dog daycare for over 2 1/2 years! i’ve worked with groups of dogs ranging from 15-35 at once, ive worked with “aggressive” and reactive dogs. taking care of them and working together with them i live at home and i have 5 dogs! one is my babygirl, (the other 4 are my family’s) shes a rescue, i got her about 2 years ago. what i didn’t expect was how many triggers/trauma she has from her previous home. i work with her every day shes done so good since, still needs more time but shes my soulmate in a dog my home has about almost an acre, fenced in yard! lots of holes that my furbabies created for digging! there is a shed that we have planned to remove sometime. not to sound alarming but there is a grape vine, no grapes grow just leaves. and your furbabies will always be supervised. the fence is about 4-5 feet so if you have a jumper, they can still come just probably on a long leash which i have if you don’t.
About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my whole life. I house-sit and pet-sit for several family friends and relatives. I'm experienced with all kinds of animals. I've owned a very wide array of animals throughout my life, all the way from farm animals to reptiles, fish, rodents and everything in-between. My favorite animal is dogs of all kinds, but I can take care of other animals. I can do all kinds of medications and any special cares needs that your baby might need. I work from home and make my own schedule so I'm always available to host animals, house-sit animals, or just stop by for play time and potty time as frequently as needed. I have a fur baby of my own who is just over 3 years old and she loves other dogs. I have a fenced in yard where your fur babies can run and play freely. My baby is crate trained but can also be trusted to be left out. We let our dogs get on the furniture and sleep in the bed with us.
About: I have taken care of many dogs since I was a sophomore in high school, graduated in 2019. I volunteered and then became a worker at a groomer near me. Loved my job, and have cared for many animals since. Currently do not have a job, so I have a free schedule and nothing but love to give to the fur babies, including cats of course. I am very respectful to others homes and belongings. I only want to care for the animals, very trustworthy. If staying at my home, I am sure to take them out every hour, hour in a half unless given specific details. They have their free roam, I also have a pretty decent sized screen in back porch that they can run around a little in.
About: What sets me apart is my experience, but mostly patience and care. I was a teacher so my energy always stays calm so theirs does as well. I am a creative writer so let me take your pets on their next adventure while you are on yours. Whether it is riding a dragon through the subdivision, swimming with the dolphins in the pool, or playing poker with the neighborhood pets, I promise to provide a fun and creative experience for your pets. I’m currently working part time so I have time to play and love on your animals. We might even play poker if the mood hits. Whether it’s a Mansion or a condo, boathouse or RV…I will provide a great housesitting experience for your pets while you’re away. I treat them with the same love and care I provide my own pets.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
