“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

Even with her two smaller dogs, Barbara paid extra attention and had lots of caution in making sure that my dog felt comfortable being in her home and around her dogs. After our initial meet and greet, my dog didn’t even wait for me to say goodbye— He was so excited to be there that he ran inside when I dropped him off! She was very nice and did send me many photos of him while on his stay. My family and I know when our dog feels sacred of the person, and when she sended us photos our dog looked happy and relaxed. About: Ever since I was little my father always had animals in our home. There were dogs, birds, reptiles, etc. I have the patience needed to help care for all types of dogs and a ton of love to give! I’m currently a stay at home mom who would love to get out as much as possible. I have a lot of free time and would love the company. I have a fenced backyard with a dog of my own. I have a crate for my dog if your doggy doesn’t want any company. I have an extra crate if needed as well. Extra dog bowls/snacks (if allowed). I live in a quiet neighborhood that I would be able to walk in without issues.
