Andy did a fantastic job house-sitting and caring for our 7-year-old Labradoodle. Our pup immediately connected with him at the Meet and Greet (which was a great sign and not always the case with our overprotective dog). Andy is a great communicator, reliable, kind, and attentive. He sent pictures and updates over the 4 day stay, handled medications, gave multiple walks each day, and was respectful of our home (it was hard to tell he had even been there upon our return). Highly recommend!

Dave went above and beyond to take the best care of our Great Dane mastiff while we were away. He was having neck issues and Dave was amazing with all of his special needs and keeping us in the loop. We felt so thankful for him and knowing our big love was in really great capable hands!

About: I’ve been around animals since I was born. I have taken care of dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, etc. I’m a veteran who enjoys spending time with animals as they resonate with me and give me peace. I’m here to give your family the same love and attention that I give mine. I have 2 dogs of my own, Bear and Milo! I’m flexible with your schedule. I’m a Ranger part time and own my own business so I’m able to navigate your time. I work around your schedule and however best you would like me to help. I live full time in an RV so I have to take extra care of my animals to ensure they are getting enough walks and always on leash. I’m very comfortable with animals and ensuring that they are living their best life!

About: I have been with various rescue organizations for over 30 years. I have helped with adoptions, medical visits, home visits, shelter assessments, and events. I have rescued many animals with health issues and have extensive experience caring for more challenging animals. I am very active and love having dogs joining the fun. I currently have two senior dogs with reduced activity levels. I hike, bike, ski, SUP, and your furry friend can come along for these activities or chill on the couch with extra snuggles. I have a very flexible schedule that will allow me to accommodate your pet's needs. I like to adhere to a schedule your pet is accustomed to. My pets are all indoor dogs, well taken care of, and slightly spoiled. They have regular feeding, exercise, and medication schedules. I will adhere to your pet's regular schedule as much as possible.

Daniella took such wonderful care of my dog and home. She followed every direction perfectly, paid close attention to all the little details, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog felt safe, comfortable, and loved the entire time. I’m so grateful for the care and thoughtfulness she showed, and I would wholeheartedly trust her again. She was so sweet and loving and sent us the best photos and updates. Amazing in every way❤️

I hired Brandy to house and dog sit over the 4th of July weekend. I can’t say enough about how great my experience was with her. I briefly mentioned to her that my house and yard had been neglected due to supporting my family in my father-in-law’s battle with cancer. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND and even pulled sticker weeds from my yard. The house was also cleaner than I left it. Most importantly, she took great care of my dog and even taught him new tricks. Will definitely be booking again. ❤️

About: I’ve been taking care of my own household pets for most of my life, living with a total of 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve personally never trained a dog, but my dad was an amazing trainer and I know his ways well. I’m fresh out of high school and working a part-time job, leaving me time to drop in and check on pets, take them out to use the bathroom, and give them a satisfactory walk. However, overnight pet care is more difficult to work in my schedule. I absolutely love animals (especially cats and dogs.) In addition to making sure every pet is met with their basic needs, I will do everything to make sure every pet is loved and cared for in all the ways. I talk to them, play with them, and interact with them in all the ways they need.

Mark was awesome with our three dogs! He was kind and patient, particularly with our fearful rescue. He had to navigate some very nervous evenings with fireworks going off and did so with so much compassion and care, including administering medication. He managed their complex relationships and personalities without missing a beat and we will be eager to have him back for future housesitting for our pups!

About: Grew up with dogs and have many years of hands-on experience caring for them in everyday life, including feeding, walking, basic training, and understanding different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m confident handling both calm and active dogs and adjusting to their individual needs. I now also own two cats, which has given me additional experience with feline behavior, routines, and creating a safe, stress-free environment. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and treat every animal with patience, responsibility, and genuine care. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available for pet care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on short notice when needed. I can’t take pets into my own home because I have two cats, but I’m very happy to stay at the client’s home and provide care there. I make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and keep their normal routine while you’re away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Timber Lakes on Rover is $104.34 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 999 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Timber Lakes. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Timber Lakes walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Timber Lakes maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Timber Lakes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Timber Lakes. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
