Dave was amazing with our two Great Danes. Our senior dane nuzzled him and leaned on him immediately, and he was patient with our shyer younger dane as she always takes a few minutes to feel comfortable. Our younger dane also had recently been diagnosed with Wobblers and was still on meds and play/walking restrictions and he was very gentle with her and followed all instructions. When we returned from our trip, it was obvious that both dogs loved him and had a great time with him. He also took great care of the house and left it very clean, which we 100% appreciated. This was our first time using Rover and we will definitely book with Dave again for our next trip.

About: I have grown up surrounded by all kinds of animals, and caring for them has always been a natural and effortless love of mine. Over the past twenty years, I’ve gained a wealth of experience, including a handful of paid pet sitting jobs, but most of my time has been spent volunteering, caring for family pets, and helping friends with their furry companions. This lifelong devotion has fostered a deep understanding of animal behavior and routines. As a result, I’m a compassionate caregiver who treats every pet like a member of my own family. Hello! My name is Holly, and I provide dedicated, highly flexible pet care tailored to your dog or cat's unique needs. I am currently a stay at home mom, which means my daily schedule is exceptionally open. Your pet won't be left alone for long stretches of the day; instead, they will enjoy a consistent, comforting presence. I pride myself on being incredibly adaptive. Whether your pet thrives on strict routines, needs medication at precise times, or requires a quiet, calm environment, I easily adjust to fit their lifestyle. Because of my unique setup, I have the freedom to slip away easily throughout the day for prompt drop in visits, walks, and feedings. I am detail oriented, highly communicative, and ready to give your pet the stellar care and companionship they deserve. I provide a clean, spacious, and welcoming environment where your pet can truly feel at home. They will love having plenty of room to stretch out indoors, along with access to a generous, fully fenced backyard. Thanks to a secure doggy door, they can freely enjoy the fresh air and playtime whenever they please, giving them the perfect balance of indoor comfort and outdoor fun.

Daniella took such wonderful care of my dog and home. She followed every direction perfectly, paid close attention to all the little details, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog felt safe, comfortable, and loved the entire time. I’m so grateful for the care and thoughtfulness she showed, and I would wholeheartedly trust her again. She was so sweet and loving and sent us the best photos and updates. Amazing in every way❤️

Angie was awesome - she’s professional, empathetic, and a steady communicator. She did a great job taking care of my anxious pup while I was away for a week. Angie sent me pictures of Luna multiple times a day which gave me peace of mind and she was a wonderful house guest. I hope to have her sit for Luna again!

We highly recommend Brooks! This was the first time he stayed with our German Shepherd, Axel, and it was a very smooth process. Communicating with Brooks was easy as he was very responsive and came over in advance of sitting to meet Axel and get instructions for the house. Most importantly, he and Axel got along great. He took Axel for walks (even in the snow) and sent some great pics to us. He is a professional photographer and his pics reflected that! We will definitely use Brooks again.

About: I have been with various rescue organizations for over 30 years. I have helped with adoptions, medical visits, home visits, shelter assessments, and events. I have rescued many animals with health issues and have extensive experience caring for more challenging animals. I am very active and love having dogs joining the fun. I currently have two senior dogs with reduced activity levels. I hike, bike, ski, SUP, and your furry friend can come along for these activities or chill on the couch with extra snuggles. I have a very flexible schedule that will allow me to accommodate your pet's needs. I like to adhere to a schedule your pet is accustomed to. My pets are all indoor dogs, well taken care of, and slightly spoiled. They have regular feeding, exercise, and medication schedules. I will adhere to your pet's regular schedule as much as possible.

About: Grew up with dogs and have many years of hands-on experience caring for them in everyday life, including feeding, walking, basic training, and understanding different breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m confident handling both calm and active dogs and adjusting to their individual needs. I now also own two cats, which has given me additional experience with feline behavior, routines, and creating a safe, stress-free environment. I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and treat every animal with patience, responsibility, and genuine care. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available for pet care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on short notice when needed. I can’t take pets into my own home because I have two cats, but I’m very happy to stay at the client’s home and provide care there. I make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and keep their normal routine while you’re away.

I have taken care of dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, etc. I’m a veteran who enjoys spending time with animals as they resonate with me and give me peace. I’m here to give your family the same love and attention that I give mine. I have 2 dogs of my own, Bear and Milo! I’m flexible with your schedule. I’m a Ranger part time and own my own business so I’m able to navigate your time. I work around your schedule and however best you would like me to help. About: Hello, my name is Reed. I’m a 25-year-old student and former Kennel Technician with hands-on experience in dog sitting, daycare, and boarding on my off days. Over the past year, I’ve also worked professionally leading off-leash group hikes using e-collars, managing 15–17 dogs at a time on dog-friendly trails and parks. This role has given me advanced skills in safe pack management, recall training, and e-collar handling. When your pup is with me, you can count on structured exercise, socialization, and fun adventures at dog parks and on dog-friendly trails. I’ll also make sure you receive high-quality photos of your pet so you can see them enjoying their day. I’ve been formally trained on dog behavior and care through PackPro and the Dog Handler Academy, and I continue to build on that knowledge every day. Feel free to reach out and book a date—I’d love to give your dog the care, attention, and adventure they deserve. I work at the pet resort Sunday-Tuesday and Thursdays. If needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays I can do a late overnight stay for a discount. In the house, I can board a family and give medicine oral or injections. I go to dog parks often, and usually take them outside every hour to an hour and a half. The only requirement is having a dog that is friendly so my dog stays safe as well.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kamas

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Kamas on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,806 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kamas. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kamas walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kamas maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kamas choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kamas. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
