“Nikki and Branden were absolutely amazing with Ziggy! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Ziggy had such a great time playing and even got to meet new friends, which made me so happy to hear. They went above and beyond in caring for him making sure he was well-fed, exercised, and given plenty of attention and affection. It was clear that they treated Ziggy like part of their own family, not just a dog they were watching. I really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing he was in such loving and capable hands. Their home environment was safe, clean, and perfect for dogs to feel relaxed and happy. Ziggy came back home content, well cared for, and honestly seemed like he didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend Nikki and Branden to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring dog sitters. We will definitely be booking with them again!”

This was our first time using Rover.com and let me tell you, Mikayla made us feel at ease and ensure we were updated throughout our trip. Going above and beyond, she provided texts, videos, and picture updates over the course of watching our pet. Her and her husband are so patient with my sweet girl and I can tell they love her just as much as I do ❤️ Rey has helped me out in a pinch more times than I could count, and I truly could not recommend her enough”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was little. Growing up we always had pets! I love animals and I have two dogs of my own. They are crate trained so I have no problem having them separate if necessary! If not, your babies will have some play mates! I am open to all care just let me know and I look forward to hearing from you! I am self employed right now so my schedule is extremely flexible. I do plan my schedule a week in advance usually but am also open to last minute bookings. I have a fenced in back yard with two fur babies of my own. I can easily crate my dogs or yours if that’s what you prefer or is necessary!

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and have hands-on experience caring for pets for family and friends for several years. I provide loving and patient care and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. As a dog mom of two myself, I understand how important it is to give pet parents peace of mind while they’re away, so I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care! I work Monday thru Friday but my schedule is flexible and I alternate between going into the office and working remotely (typically only going into the office 1-3 days per week). Because I have two dogs at home myself, my schedule is already set up with breaks on the days I’m in the office to allow for potty breaks. I live in a house with a fully fenced in backyard in a safe and quiet location. I do own two friendly golden retrievers myself, but am happy to accommodate your pet by crating mine and/or separating them if your dog is anxious. I will discuss with you what you are comfortable with and adjust as needed!

“Kurt has been great with my dog Ella. She is a sweetheart but VERY high energy and social. She got to have playtime with another dog and it was clear she got more than enough exercise while there. Ella has gotten sick from getting too stressed at big facilities in the past and this was by far the best boarding experience I have had with her. Kurt treated her as part of his family and she was so happy and relaxed upon pick-up. He also worked with me for drop-off and pick-up times. We will be repeating stays here going forward.”

I currently am working strictly with animals transporting them to the vets, doggie day care groomers etc.. training animals as well as I just started my own rescue Wild At Heart Rescues, Inc. I make my own schedule. This is my life's passion. I live and breathe caring for animals as they can't help themselves. I only pet sit in owners home as N.C. law states you have to have a boarding license if you pet sit in your own home.

About: Growing up we had a loving lab named Hannah who always wanted to cuddle and give kisses. Shortly after adopting her, we rescued my kitty Dusty who became best friends with her, unfortunately Hannah passed a few years back and Dusty lived a very long life and passed away in June2026. A month later I took in a friend's cat and she is living her best life with me. While in the final years of High School and college, I had neighbors, friends, and family get out to have me to care, walk, and feed their love ones when they go away, along with spending the night with them. I currently work full time as a registered nurse. Work day starts around 6:30am and ends around 4pm. I will have plenty of time in the morning and after work as well as late evening to play with your pups or kitties. I have a fenced in dog park where I currently live and can access a nature path for long walks. I can easily crate your dog if needed during the day or make sure everything is picked up if they roam free when home alone.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tar Heel home-away-from-home, packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tar Heel.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Tar Heel sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
