“Kurt was wonderful with my dog. Flexible with drop off and pick up. There was another dog staying as well which I loved because my dog loves having a playmate. He sent pictures and kept me updated on his stay.”

“Geysi was great with our dog and accommodated last minute requests. She even met us the first time to drop off and pick him up since we had trouble with our GPS. I highly recommend Geysi and plan to use her again.”

“They communicated quickly and often sending pictures and giving updates over the days. Most importantly they made Simba’s first time away great and accommodated any needs I had.”

“Kelli was able to accommodate a last minute request to watch Caezar. She sent pictures and updates through the day. He seemed to have a great time and was tired out by end of day, he slept so well! I would recommend her and will use her again.”

“Rey took great care of our senior dog and kept us informed the whole time we were away! She’s easy to work with and was very helpful with handling unexpected situations that came up.”

“She is great! My dog loved her. She kept me updated with pictures which I loved, and informed me if there was any changes. She walked her and everything. I would definitely recommend and Ms. Maggie will be seeing her again. Thanks again!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received! From the very beginning Kimberly was excellent with communication and reassuring that my pups were in good hands. She regularly updated me with photos during the stay that gave me a peace of mind.”

“I recently used Shadella for the first time and had a fantastic experience! Her communication was excellent throughout the day she kept me updated with plenty of pictures and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog felt completely safe and comfortable, and it was clear she was able to be her full, happy self. She came back to me in great spirits and well taken care of. I’m so grateful for the care Shadella provided for the entire weekend and will definitely be booking again!”

“If I could give a 10 star rating I would! Elizabeth was awesome and sent us tons of pictures of our pups while we were away. I wish we would have kept them with her sooner on past trips. She was awesome and very concerned and attentive to our dogs’ needs.”

About: I have animals since I am 6, I have a malinois in the house with us and my husky is going to join us in December. I have my husky since 6 years now, those bread teach you a loooooot of patience. My Malinois is still young only 6 months old. We also have a kitty, my parents back in France have a lot of cats that I took care for years. I am at home almost all day expect to go do some grocery or else, I take my dog out when I wake up, during the day and before going to bed. She also knows how to ask. My animals are free to go anywhere and sleep with us in the bed or in their bed at our feets. We put her in the room when we leave to avoid having to much mess everywhere. I don’t wanna put her in a crate.
“Ana is amazing. Our fur baby was so loved. It was our first time using Rover and I love it. Thank you Ana for loving our baby like he was your own. We have tried facility boarding before and he would come home shaken and so upset. We have found our fur baby person. Thank you”

“Mikayla took care of my girl Precious for 2 days. Precious has had 2 other sitters in the past and they both moved to another state. I was concerned about Precious going from one sitter to another, but Mikayla made me feel comfortable. Precious had a blast. She was so worn out by the time she got home that she slept for most of the day and 1/2 of the next day. I am delighted and pleased with Mikayla as a person and sitter. She sent me a few updates and pictures, also. We decided that Mikayla will be Precious permanent sitter, God willing. I'm comfortable and relaxed with Mikayla. Precious took to her right away. I couldn't be more pleased with this connection.”

“Dominque was a fantastic dog sitter! She provided daily updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog was well cared for and happy. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Laura was very accommodating and super sweet to my girls? I got pictures every day that I was gone. I could see that they were cozy in the evenings and having fun running out in the yard when they were let out. I will be going back to her again!”

“My Dobby got a little sick from stressat drop off and they took such good care of my baby. They got along great and kept me updated on everything. It was also a bit of a short notice so I really appreciated their help. 10/10 would recommend!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and have hands-on experience caring for pets for family and friends for several years. I provide loving and patient care and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. As a dog mom of two myself, I understand how important it is to give pet parents peace of mind while they’re away, so I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care! I work Monday thru Friday but my schedule is flexible and I alternate between going into the office and working remotely (typically only going into the office 1-3 days per week). Because I have two dogs at home myself, my schedule is already set up with breaks on the days I’m in the office to allow for potty breaks. I live in a house with a fully fenced in backyard in a safe and quiet location. I do own two friendly golden retrievers myself, but am happy to accommodate your pet by crating mine and/or separating them if your dog is anxious. I will discuss with you what you are comfortable with and adjust as needed!
About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was little. Growing up we always had pets! I love animals and I have two dogs of my own. They are crate trained so I have no problem having them separate if necessary! If not, your babies will have some play mates! I am open to all care just let me know and I look forward to hearing from you! I am self employed right now so my schedule is extremely flexible. I do plan my schedule a week in advance usually but am also open to last minute bookings. I have a fenced in back yard with two fur babies of my own. I can easily crate my dogs or yours if that’s what you prefer or is necessary!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yorick home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yorick.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Yorick sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
