“Jennifer had a challenging sit with our cat and dog. We were gone for 8-9 days. She stayed with them and took on the challenges of our geriatric cat and reactive dog. She came to visit several times before our trip. It was important to her that things go well. Within several days, our dog was sleeping with her. She has a calm, kind, and trustworthy aura. Leaving our animals was going to be very stressful, but it wasn’t. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing our pets were being taken well care of. Would and probably will use her again. Thank you so very much Jen.”

“Linda is incredible! This was our first experience using Rover and having Linda stay at our house to watch our three dogs for a week. Linda is kind and responsible. I felt at ease after meeting her. She communicated and sent pictures daily. We came home to a very clean home and three happy puppies. Linda went above and beyond what we expected. This was 100% better than boarding. I feel like Linda is part of our family and will definitely be a return customer.”

“So very happy we found Evelyn. She is kind and very capable. Took notes on everything and made us feel as if our sweet cat and home would be in excellent care for the 8 days we were gone. And they were. The photo updates were fun and reassuring. We highly recommend. We will be calling on Evelyn the next time we gone. She brought us lots of peace of mind and Oz loved her. Many thanks!”
“Brenda and Dwain were INCREDIBLE! We left for a week long trip and I was so nervous about making sure our babies were okay. From the start Brenda and Dwain were very present and attentive to the animals and wanted to make sure they followed their routine to a T. Our dogs eat homemade food and they stayed active with making their food through the week, as well as stayed consistent with their daily walks. One of our dogs was having a hot spot issue when we left, but they stayed on top of treating it with the medicine we left and when we got home his hot spot was almost completely gone! They sent updates and pictures multiple times a day which made me feel so much better! They even took the time to write little “stories” about the day which were so fun to read! We didn’t have to worry at all on our trip because we knew they were all well taken care of. When we got home, our house was clean and virtually untouched and all the animals were happy and healthy! I couldn’t recommend Brenda and Dwain enough! If you want a family that will treat your animals and your home like their own while you are away, book them!! Thank you guys so much!”

“This was the second time David cared for our 2 six month old puppies. They love him! They are a handful and cares for them with ease. Would highly recommend him. I am very comfortable having him stay at my home.”

About: I've taken care of multiple neighbors pets as well as friend's and family's pets for years. Love taking them out for walks and making them wag their tails! I’m currently a graduate student in PA school and am about to start my clinical rotations! Because my schedule varies from rotation to rotation, my availability may change throughout the year. Some rotations allow me to be home much more frequently than others. Before accepting any house-sitting request, I’ll always discuss my schedule with you to ensure it matches your pet’s potty break, exercise, and companionship needs. I only accept bookings when I know I can provide the level of care your pet deserves. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine and needs. In my home or a client’s home, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, fresh food and water, potty breaks, and lots of love. I carefully follow any feeding schedules, medication instructions, and house rules. Our old baby was blind and diabetic so I know how important a consistent schedule can be. I love providing regular updates with photos as well so you know how loved your fur baby is :)
“Liz is such a sweetheart and very trustworthy. She was so good with our 7 month old pup Oz. He just adored her. When we got home we could tell he had a great day and wasn’t the slightest bit stressed out. We will be having her help us with our pup again!!”

“Marisa did an amazing job with our pups over the weekend! we will definitely be using her services again! She made sure to send us pictures and updates throughout the weekend of our dogs. She also cleaned everything that was used and I think thats just going beyond her job! it was amazing!”

“Courtney was amazing!! My 3 dogs and cats loved her immediately. You could tell that she clearly loved animals and would take care of them like her own! During our vacation, she kept us informed of everything with photos. She followed all of our instructions for the babies and the house. She is very respectful and courteous. Most of all, she loved our babies and took care of them like we would, maybe even better lol”

I have two dogs of my own, Red and Luna! While your furry friend is here, they’ll also be loved and cared for by my daughter, husband, and mom I am a Quality Engineer and currently work from home full-time, as does my husband. Since we’re both home during the day, we’re able to take breaks as needed to give your furry friend plenty of attention and care. They’re even welcome to hang out with us in our workspace! When caring for your furry friend, I’ll be available to take them out as often as needed. I can handle feeding, provide fresh water, and give treats as well. My home sits on a 2-acre lot, so there’s plenty of space for running around! I also have tracking devices for the dogs just in case they were to get out by any chance.
“Noelle was fantastic with our babies! We will definitely reach out to her again for our next weekend getaway! She was attentive to their needs, patient with our pug's disability, cognizant of their comfort throughout the weekend, and kept them on their schedule/routine. She checked in often and kept us informed of their activities, leaving us to a stress-free, mostly unplugged weekend. We are very happy to have found Noelle!”

About: Hello my name is Courtney!! Let me share some things to you about me. I am hard of hearing person, having a dogs to care for bring the joy out of me. They know how to cheer you up. That all make me smile. It doesn’t matter what breeds, gender, or size to me. What matters to me is to make sure they are taking care of with full of love and care. I have 3 girls. Range from 12 to under 1 year old. I look forward to take care of your babies. On plus side I am deaf myself. Being disabled and unable to hear does not stop me loving animals. :) Right now I’m a full time mom with my youngest one. We pretty much stay home. Would love to get out of the house to see doggies. I can always make it work :) I have a full fenced yard where I can always play throwing toys, ball, even some splash of water spray if the dogs like water. There’s a small park around the corner that I can take them to. If it’s a client home I follow what client do to their pets :)
“Another stress free vacation, because we knew Oreo was in the best hands with Maria! She was amazing communicating with us and sharing photo & video updates. Oreo is spoiled rotten when she’s there.💕 I think he makes her his personal masseuse 🤣, but she also plays his toys with him and did enriching activities to keep our boy’s mind engaged. We totally trust Maria and highly recommend her!”

About: My first sitting job was at 14 for the neighbors across the street, during a month long trip. I have been sitting for friends on and off for the last 4 years, dogs and cats. I have a lot of experience with senior cats and cats who are on medication. I am currently an independent contractor, working as a performer. When in a show, weekends would be difficult, and at most a show run lasts 5 weeks. I also bartend at a theater, those shifts are only 4 hours, and are also only during the run of a show. My schedule always remains very flexible. Growing up I was the designated dog walker in the family, he was a very excitable and friendly dog so I have a lot of experience with dogs who pull on their leashes. I also was responsible for baths. I also have some experience with multiple dogs at a time, of all sorts of personalities. I have owned at least one cat since I was 6, I'm the girl who seeks out the cat at the party to hang out.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tangerine walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tangerine maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tangerine choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
