About: Hi there! I proudly served 7 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, and now I get to dedicate my time to something I’ve always loved-caring for animals! I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and truly enjoy spending time with dogs of all kinds. I recently moved here from Washington State. Along with Rover, I was a caretaker and dog groomer of 8-10 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and their puppies. I am happy to open my home to your pups, whether it's for daycare or boarding, or even a couple hours. I have two separate fenced in yards and no kids. Willing to work with each client to provide afforable rates. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend and make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I am currently home full time and have lots of time to care for your pets! I have one dog that is a Miniature Pinscher named Pico that does well with other dogs. I’m super flexible so just let me know the specifics of what you need so I can make this experience the best for your pup. Will take TONS of pictures and provide daily updates. I will always respect your furry family members. I have experience with dog walking, dog grooming, separation anxiety, dog reactivity, anxious animals, older dogs, and dog boarding.
“Brandan is great with our one year old fur baby! Simba has separation anxiety, but Brandan stays patient with him and attends to his needs to make him comfortable. We appreciate that he is flexible with our schedule and treats Simba like family. Simba is always excited to go to daycare as he starts to show excitement when we approach Brandan’s home and runs up to his door! If you are looking for someone who is compassionate and trustworthy; Brandan is the one!”

“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

“This was first time leaving my dog. I was a little nervous since we were in town for my husbands work so I was not familiar with the area, people or just leaving him. Nalani did a great job making it comfortable for me. I took my dog to her two days and it was such a great experience. He did well and Nalani gave him lots of attention. Thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby while we were in town. I highly recommend her.”

“First two. daycare experiences were great for both parties. The third day, we discovered that Roxie's reaction to Jill and Liz's cats was too strong and it was no longer a good fit. I want to say that although it did't work out for us, I appreciate the direct, clear, and professional communication from Jill and Liz. Their yard is huge and Roxie did have fun while outdoors. Got some great pics. Bummed, but glad to have had my girl experience their care.”

“Karla is amazing! She provided overnights before and this time I used her doggy day care service. My dog was so excited to see her and her dogs again, he ran up to her house. Would definitely recommend!”

“Julie was very accommodating for us! I will definitely use her again. My puppy came back tired and happy!! She has a lot of space for the dogs to play and run around and I feel certain that my dog is getting all the attention and playtime she wants!”

“I highly recommend her! Her and her family were very sweet towards my dog. I had to do a last minute booking and she accepted it. I also had last minuetes changes when picking him and she was very kind about it. I know for sure my dog had an awesome stay and felt safe in their home. And I am sure he adored all the attention he got. Will definitely book another stay with her again.”

“Akie was professional, friendly, and clearly loves animals. My dog was well taken care of, and I appreciated the regular updates. I’ll definitely book with Akie again in the future!.”

“Haley was a very thoughtful, flexible sitter for Jethro. He can be a handful at times, but she was great at understanding his (and our) needs while we were out of town. She is trustworthy and goes the extra mile to make sure your dog is comfortable, and updated throughout the day without needing to be asked. I’d recommend her if you are looking for someone to trust with the security of your home, and safety and happiness of your animals.”

“This is the first time leaving Dax with someone outside of a family member and he warmed up to Whitney really quickly. I like that she treated him as if he was in his own home. We already have dates in mind to book Whitney for the rest of the year!”

About: I’m a dedicated 21 year old dog lover who currently cares for two rescued female puppies. They are friendly and fixed :) Raising young shelter dogs has given me hands-on experience with puppy routines, socialization, basic training, exercise, and lots of patience. I understand the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and creating a safe, comfortable environment for pets. Growing up, I also owned a Chihuahua and spent time dog walking for others ever since I was a kid, which helped me learn how to work with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’m comfortable with active puppies, shy dogs, and dogs that need extra attention and reassurance. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your dog needs playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply a caring companion while you're away, I’m committed to making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I currently work part-time as a delivery driver, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to stay close to home throughout the day. Because of that, I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I care for my own two young dogs every day, so pet care is already a major part of my routine. When I'm not working, I spend time walking, training, playing with, and caring for them. My flexible schedule allows me to adjust my day around the needs of the pets in my care and make sure they receive the attention, supervision, and affection they deserve. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets. In my home, dogs have access to a large, securely fenced yard where they can play, exercise, and explore safely under supervision. I also have a large crate available for dogs who are crate-trained or need a quiet place to relax. If a dog needs their own space, I can separate them using a dog gate and provide a comfortable area in my home where they can rest safely. I always monitor interactions between pets and make sure each dog is comfortable and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow their routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure and comfortable while their owners are away. My goal is to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment where every pet feels at home.
About: I have been pet sitting since I was young. From dogs and cats to rodents and reptiles, neighbors, friends and family members have trusted me to care for their pets. I plan my schedule to ensure every pet receives the attention, care, and consistency they deserve. I’m available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits, and I’m committed to providing feeding, fresh water, playtime, medication if needed, and regular updates to owners. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routine as closely as possible to help their pets feel comfortable and secure. I respect my clients’ homes, keep everything clean and tidy, and provide regular photo and message updates so they can have peace of mind while they’re away.
“Ana was responsive during booking and provided an update during the stay by sending photos of my dog and hers. She was able to fully attend my dog during the stay, and I am appreciative of this because my dog has a separation anxiety.”

“We were very happy with Kharlee! It was a short notice booking and she as very accommodating. We got several pictures throughout the day and 1 video! Very happy Thank you Kharlee”

“Absolutely the best ever! Throughout the day I received updates on my pup, pictures and videos of him playing and/or sleeping! Toby loved it, most definitely would book again and again and again!”

“I would 100% recommend Maria because she takes care of our dog and she takes good care of her and she is very affectionate with the dogs and always kept us informed about our dog.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 88 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Taft. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Taft commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 88 sitters in Taft, 79% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
