“I can’t say enough good things about Robbyn. Jackson immediately connected with her, and he was more relaxed than I’ve ever seen him for a high energy puppy. She kept the place spotless, communicated regularly, and sent plenty of photos so I always knew he was doing well. I’m truly grateful for the care she provided, and I will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Armonee was great! She communicated a lot with us, keeping us updated with how all of the animals were doing, which was very comforting as this was our first time having her sit for us. She followed the animals' schedules and coordinated very well between other clients and us. We are already booked with her again!”

“Tracie is great with my 3 babies! She always shows up on time I always feel safe knowing she is watching over my babies. I would definitely recommend her for any pet sitting needs!”

“Kelly was great! Maggie loved her right away. She was punctual and friendly. She followed my instructions for feeding times, etc. Sent pictures of Maggie during the day, which we appreciated. I will use her again if she is available.”

“Hannah was great with my crew of 2 cats and 2 dogs on an overnight stay at our home. I was nervous to leave them for the first time but Hannah's professionalism and attention to detail eased my mind. The babies loved her right away. She was able to keep up with all of them and gave great updates along the way. We are so glad to have found Hannah and would definitely recommend her to others.”

About: For as long as I can remember, I’ve had the joy of caring for animals of every size and personality. From dogs and cats to birds and fish, I’ve spent a lifetime giving animals the love, attention, and structure they need to feel safe and happy. I’ve been involved in competitive field trials, obedience training, and plenty of everyday fur baby fun, and those experiences have taught me how to connect with pets in a way that feels natural and reassuring. Whether through boarding at my house or drop in visits at yours you can be assured your pet will be well taken care of. Your pet will enjoy our fenced‑in backyard, daily walks, and plenty of one‑on‑one attention. I share my home with two children, two dogs, and three cats, so we understand exactly how important it is to have a dependable sitter your family can trust. I follow your pet’s normal routine closely to include: feeding schedule, playtime, medications, and any other special instructions because consistency helps them feel right at home. I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own, and I’m committed to giving them a safe, loving, and comfortable stay every time. I have a flexible and accommodating schedule to for weekday and weekend boarding or drop in visits. I can be available for most last minute request and would love to take the stress out of finding someone to watch your pets. I have a fenced in yard that offers plenty of room to run and play. When not outside, your pet will be able to roam free in the downstairs of our house while being entertained and closely monitored.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Ashley took amazing care of our dogs and our home while we were away. She kept us updated throughout the stay with great communication and of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. The best part was coming home to happy, relaxed dogs, it was obvious they had been so well cared for that they hardly seemed to miss us! We truly appreciated the love and attention she gave each of them, as well as the care she took with our home. We are so grateful for everything she did and will absolutely be requesting her again for our future pet care needs. Highly recommend!”

“This was our first time using a home/pet sitting service. Angie exceeded all expectations of comfort and piece of mind to humans and pets alike. We feel fortunate and blessed to have found someone that feels more like an extended, trusted family with the pets and home. ❤️🐕🐾🏠❤️ The pack decided she could be part of the cool kids club.🤷♂️”

“Robert spent a weekend caring for our fur babies. We had a meet and greet prior to his stay and he did a thorough assessment of our animals needs to make sure he provided top notch care. Over the weekend he sent pictures and updates. I knew my fur babies were well-taken care of.”

“I would be so hesitant to leave our dogs with anyone but Kelsey. This is the third time we've booked him for in home sitting and each time we come home, the pups are healthy and happy. This trip especially was important to us because it was our wedding and honeymoon. We wouldn't have been able to enjoy either without someone we trusted and appreciated as much as him.”

“Felicia was amazing! We came home to happy dogs and a clean home. Thank you for everything. We’ll be in touch for another upcoming trip we’ll need your services for!”

“Erin was amazing! She was very easy to communicate with to set up the booking, asked plenty of questions to make sure Diablo and I were taken care of, and sent me picture and video updates of them enjoying each other's company. If possible, I will book her again in the future!”

“Kim has been amazing throughout my time away from my dogs. Kept them on their schedule, made adjustments when my travel plans unfortunately got changed. I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future.”

“Dehaven and Ashlee took great care of our dog and our home while we were gone! They were very understanding of our dogs needs and did a great job while we were gone. They were great communicators and kept us up to date on how things were going which was very helpful. We cannot thank them enough!”

“Nikolaas was an amazing dog sitter to our two pups. Our boys can get anxious without us, but they loved him. He was super communicative, sent lots of updates and pictures, and I felt much more at ease leaving home. We will definitely book him in the future.”
“Kari was amazing with my pups. She sent me pictures throughout the day and kept me informed of all their activities and was very patient when Sunshine didn’t want her meds. 100% recommended!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Suffolk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Suffolk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Suffolk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Suffolk. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
