“Amber is both friendly and professional. I really appreciated the steady stream of photos and updates from her while I was out of town. Would definitely considered her in the future.”

“Absolutely an amazing sitter. My picky dog ate every meal with Linda. She went on multiple walks sent multiple photos and videos. My dog had an absolute vacation with Linda. I will never take my dog to anyone else. Linda is my new and only dog sitter.”

“Great communication leading up to our stay. Jeleesa was amazing with my pup! My dog came home just as happy as when I left her- I highly recommend to anyone needed a “home away from home” for their animal!”

“Erica was fantastic! 🌟 This was our first time ever boarding our 3 1/2 year-old sheltie, so we weren’t sure how well he would do. We checked out two local kennels, and they were not a good fit for him as he was very scared. So we looked into dog sitters in a home environment. I met with Erica before the booking and she put my mind at ease. When we got him back he slept most of the rest of the day since he had so much fun playing with all the dogs! He was well cared for and we will definitely book with her again! Thank you so much ❤️ 🩵”

“Phinneaus LOVES spending time with Tiffany and her family! Whenever we arrive at her home, he literally pulls me up the stairs and straight to the door because he knows where he’s at. She takes care of my boy like he’s one of her own.”

“Ligia did an awesome job watching our two overactive boxers. She loves dogs and it shows!! I highly recommend her services and we will definitely be using her again!!!”
“I have 2 dogs that are polar opposites; one that is fearful and cautions, and the other one very social and goofy. We felt very comfortable leaving them with Karla, she gave them the time needed to acclimate and warm up, and they had a blast! We also appreciated the constant pictures and updates as to how they were doing and getting along. Thank you Karla for taking such great care of our Basil + Cashew!”

“Meredith is an angel with our sweet pup! She kept him for the duration of our cruise, and updated us with several pictures and a video. She was able to cater to our specific feeding needs, as well as administering medication. We are so lucky to have a puppysitter that treats him with such love and care.”

“Sarah and Jacob are so great! Duncan loves going to their house. Sarah and Jacob are so reliable and communication with them is seamless. We will always have Sarah and Jacob watch our pup.”

“Bodie stayed with Phillip for two weeks while I was traveling, and I couldn’t have been happier with the care he received. Being so far away from home, it gave me real peace of mind knowing Bodie was in great hands. Phillip regularly sent me pictures and videos, so I was able to see that Bodie was happy, comfortable, and doing well. Bodie especially enjoyed having the large backyard to roam around in. One of the things I appreciated most was that he wasn’t placed in a kennel like he had been with a previous boarder. I know having the freedom to relax in a home environment made him much more comfortable and helped reduce his anxiety. It’s not easy leaving your dog for two weeks, especially when you’re far away, but I never had to worry about whether Bodie was being well cared for. Phillip took great care of him, and I would absolutely trust him with Bodie again.”

“My dog Marcus had a wonderful time with Rachel and her family! We received photos and videos of him throughout the day and updates on how his day went. Definitely felt comfortable leaving Marcus with Rachel and her family while we were on vacation. Highly recommend them!”

“1st time using Rover and was looking for someone to watch our Benji while I went out of town for a few days. I found Lorena based on her review and I see why she has a 5 star rating. Lorena was quick to respond to questions, was very flexible and really took care of Benji. She set up a meet and great first and we had a chance to meet her family, and they are all animal lovers. Benji seemed to be very comfortable with everyone and we felt comfortable leaving him. While I was on my trip Lorena doing a great job keeping me updated and sending me pictures. She took care of Benji like he was her own and he even learned a few things.”
About: I grew up in a house full of animals (dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish) and loved it. Less than a year after moving out to attend college I got my own puppy (Havanese). 12 years later I found myself getting a second dog after my parents and a sibling adopted her other 2 sisters (English Cream Golden Retriever puppies). We dogsit for them, and of course they come to family get-togethers, so we're used to having extra dogs in our house! In 2025 we said goodbye to our first dog, and a few months later welcomed home our foster-to-adopt puppy (chihuahua-beagle mix). The kids love playing and cuddling with dogs and understand when they need space. My job allows flexibility in my schedule to work from home when needed. I usually work early hours so that I can have more time available in the afternoons & evenings to spend with family. Caring for pets and considering their feeding/potty breaks is already part of our daily routine. Having my own home, family, and pets I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy and respectful to take care of your pets. Your pet will be treated as one of our own.
“Rosalina and her family were incredibly kind and attentive to my dog. They sent me daily photos of him having a great time with her family. I’m definitely booking with her again! The service was exceptional and I highly recommend her.”

“I cannot recommend Dayonna enough! From the moment we connected, she was professional, warm, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. Ryder immediately felt comfortable, which gave me so much peace of mind. She sent regular updates, including adorable photos and thoughtful messages, which made me feel connected even while I was away. I could tell my pet was not only safe but truly happy in her care. Reliable, communicative, and kind Dayonna went above and beyond. I will definitely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your furry family member, look no further!”

“Heather did an awesome job watching our chocolate lab for a weekend. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care and would do it again in a heartbeat. She sent us numerous pictures and updates on how our dog was doing. This was our first experience with Rover and I would definitely recommend Heather if you need someone to watch your dog”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Storck
Our old pup absolutely loves staying with Julie’s family. She takes wonderful care of him, navigating his picky eating and various joint medications. He comes home so tired - from both the outdoor time and the social interactions, I am sure. I trust Julie completely with his care and will continue to use her for our dog sitting needs as long as she will have us.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
