Aubrianna has watched our older pup several times before but this was our first time leaving both him and our 3.5 month old puppy with anyone. Both dogs were so happy when we got home and the house was spotless. She did a great job following our suggestions with the puppy and was so attentive! We will continue to use her for all future needs :)

Stephanie was awesome start to finish! She was so accommodating to our quirky pups, was responsive, and provided detailed “pup”dates. She even managed to win over my aloof, grumpy old girl. As a bonus, she even brought in the mail each day! I would absolutely recommend Stephanie and know who I’m booking for my next out of town adventure.

Dustin is hands down the best and a perfect fit for my nugget! I have used a few sitters off of Rover but none of them were the right fit! When I am away my pup tends to give everyone a run for their money. She was completely comfortable with Dustin and there were no behavioral issues in my absence! Plus he provided a perfect level of communication and pictures! I will only use his services in the future!

About: I have been around dogs my entire life and have been a proud dog owner since I was a young kid. I know exactly what it takes to keep a pup happy and healthy. In addition to raising my own dogs, I have extensive experience caring for others' pets. I regularly host family friends' dogs, have completed overnight house sittings (including 3+ night stays), and frequently manage dog walking schedules. Because my own dog at home prefers to be an 'only child,' I do not offer boarding at my house—meaning your dog gets 100% of my attention right in the comfort of their own familiar environment. (Please note: I do not care for cats due to allergies!). I am a recent college graduate spending my summer strictly focused on studying for my medical school entrance exams. Because my entire schedule consists of independent laptop study, I treat house sitting as my personal, quiet study retreat. Your dog will be my primary focus! I love using my study breaks to get outside, stretch my legs, and take your pup for long, refreshing walks. I am home for the vast majority of the day, making my schedule flexible and reliable. I know how important it is to feel secure leaving your home and pet in someone else's hands. I am clean, quiet, and extremely respectful of your space. While watching your pup, I follow their exact routine down to the letter to keep their stress levels low. I maintain an eagle-eye view on safety during walks, keeping dogs securely on-leash and away from unknown animals. Plus, I love sending regular photo and text updates so you have total peace of mind while you're away!

About: I’ve been a lifelong pet lover and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have two dogs of my own and understand the importance of providing reliable, loving, and attentive care. I have experience with: 🐾 Walking and exercising dogs (small to medium-sized or well-mannered larger dogs) 🐾 Providing enrichment, playtime, and plenty of snuggles 🐾 Drop-in visits for cats and dogs, including litter box maintenance and meal routines I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away! Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily routine! Whether it’s taking my own dogs for walks, providing playtime, or giving lots of cuddles, I’m always surrounded by furry friends. I have a flexible schedule, so I can easily accommodate pet sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walks throughout the day. I prioritize keeping pets happy and comfortable, whether that means sticking to their usual routine, going on fun walks, or giving them extra attention while their owners are away. I do not have a lot of reviews on rover but I have clients that I see on a weekly basis that can provide testimonials about the care I provide to their furry family members. I provide loving and reliable care for pets in their own home, where they feel most comfortable. Whether it’s a drop-in visit for feeding, playtime, or walks, I ensure that each pet’s routine is maintained as much as possible. For dog walking, I make sure they get the exercise and attention they need while being mindful of their individual energy levels. When caring for cats, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have clean litter boxes, and get some extra playtime or snuggles, depending on their personality. I always prioritize creating a calm and safe environment for pets while their owners are away, and I’m happy to provide updates with pictures and videos!

I was very apprehensive about leaving our pets with a stranger (especially our highly anxious 5-year-old lab who has never been separated for an extended period of time from her family), but we were desperate to find a sitter at short notice. Farrin came over for a "meet & greet" about a week before the event to get acquainted with Corey (the lab), Farrin came early that morning, stayed all day late into the evening so Corey wouldn't have to be alone. We received a couple of updates during the day from Farrin letting us know how Corey was doing. I couldn't be more pleased with Farrin's friendly, yet professional, demeanor. She deserves (& got) a big tip, and I would definitely hire her again.

Chelsea D. Was super easy to talk to. She offered a meet and greet. That was perfect, she spent time to get to know the doggies and their needs. She arrived early on the day she set for our fur babies, that relieved us from stress. She’s a natural with pets with separation anxiety! When we arrived back home our one lil man that has separation anxiety showed no signs of stress, that was so comforting to us. The other two were very happy also. Looks like all 3 have a new friend. We will most definitely use Chelsea D. again! Thank you for sitting our babies!

Liza was great! Super flexible and great communication. My dogs got into a scuffle (no fault of Liza’s whatsoever!) and she handled it great, communicated with me immediately and kept me up to date. My farm and dogs are not the easiest to handle and I was very happy with how Liza managed them all and was incredibly respectful of my home

FAQs for House Sitting - Storck

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Storck on Rover is $41.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,425 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Storck. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Storck walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Storck maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Storck choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Storck. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
