About: Hello, a little bit about me is my mom was actually a miniature dog breeder while I was younger, and I would actually help her take care of the puppies, along with having the privilege to be with the little mama’s in the middle of the birthing process. It resulted in me learning how to take care of the many animals, and how to have a lot of patience lol. I, myself, have 2 baby dogs and 1 needy cat, so I understand how it is when they become your world. If you have any more questions about me, just feel free to ask! I know that it can be an overwhelming experience to find a good sitter, but I am here to make it as fun and relaxing as possible. Thank you so much, and I look forward to supporting you! I am currently working part-time at Farmers Insurance, and it is 1-5pm on Monday-Friday. I also just prefer a couple hours for the morning on Sundays to go to church, but all other hours I am completely free! I cannot take care of pets in my home sadly, but I will be able to soon! I will update you guys when that happens, but I am willing to drive to them for now!

Brooke was an amazing buddy to Gizmo during our touristy visit to Cañon City! She put me totally at ease throughout the process with fast communication and was happy to hang with Giz in our motel room while we were out. He was very happy, relaxed, and clearly thrilled with her calm dog-person demeanor. Brooke really went the extra mile and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

About: Currently, I work part-time at boarding & grooming facility in Pueblo West, CO. As a kennel technician, I work with dogs/cats of all behaviors and a variety of medications (except ones with a needle). Now approaching 2 years working there, I can handle just about any quirks your pets have. My mom has always worked in vet medicine, so my passion for animals started from the beginning! My real pet care started when we brought home a Aussie/Border Collie rescue, while I was just a pre-teen. He was very emotionally shut down when we brought him home, technically, not adoptable. This was my first in-depth introduction to dog behaviors and how complicated herding breeds can be. My other main passion is photography, which dogs are one of my favorite subjects! While the services I offer vary, my main love is nature & wildlife. When I'm not working at the kennel, I'm building my business! I work part-time, but my schedule can be a bit sporadic, either a half day in the morning or afternoon (either 7am-1 pm or 1pm-6pm). The rest of the time, I would be able to spend with your animals! While house-sitting, I like to spend lots of time with the pets because I value their trust & comfort over anything! I'm an early riser, so we can get outside for a walk before it's too hot! With lots of practice and a strong Pitbull of my own at home, I can handle walking strong dogs. Pets are treated as an equal member of the family! Being in their space, I understand the importance of maintaining their routine and habits. I know from my time at the kennel that feeding/medication schedules and directions can be very specific. Also, I am happy to continue any training or work they've already been doing!

About: I grew up on a 44-acre farm, gaining hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals, from cats and dogs to chickens and pigs. I know how to provide responsible, attentive care. Currently, I am a proud pet parent to my two fur babies: Mondo, my cat, and Bella, my senior pit mix. They are both incredibly loving, and we are always happy to have friends over for supervised playdates! I am focused on earning some extra money while doing what I love most: taking care of fur babies in my free time. I recently moved into my mom's place, which is conveniently located near the reservoir. It is a beautiful, spacious area that is perfect for outdoor adventures and exercise! I will care for your pet as if they were my own, with your pet's safety and comfort as my top priorities. If your pet has any special requirements—such as medication, specific dietary needs, or routine requests—please let me know when booking so I can provide the best care possible

About: Years of owning different pets or being around them. Have raised puppies into good dogs. Watched my buddies aged and learned how to take care of them and not push them too hard. I pay attention to subtle changes in the dogs behavior and adjust what is needed to ensure their safety and comfort. The days I have available are because I work full-time Tuesday through Friday and I do not have a set clock out time as it varies day by day. My off/free days are flexible, and any scheduled time is devoted to your pup. When I get to watch your dog at your home, I will follow the rules you have laid out. My goal will be to maintain the safe and calm environment you as the owner have set for the dog, but playing and horsing around as able.

Amber is incredible, she came through last minute when my Rover got sick during my vacation and blew me away with her care for my dog Lucy. She was very communicative, sent regular updates, took Lucy for multiple long walks each day, was in tune with Lucy and knowledgeable about dog behavior and needs, worked with Lucy on some of our current training, and seemed to really love and care for Lucy as if she was her own. Came home to a clean, sanitized home. Will absolutely use Amber again in the future.

I love jogging and walking, and anything outdoors. I am able to administer medication and care for senior animals as well. I currently work part time however my schedule allows for a lot of flexibility as I am able to pick up and drop shifts. I am willing to travel as well. Jennifer was fantastic throughout the entire process! She was very responsive and came over for a meet and greet prior to watching our dogs in our home. This was our first time using Rover and for an out of country vacation! I was pretty nervous about leaving my fur babies, but Jennifer helped to reassure me that everything was okay. When we left, Jen came over to help with the transition and I was able to leave on my trip knowing the dogs would be well looked after. I will absolutely be booking with Jen again!

About: I've taken care of dogs my whole life — I was raised with them! Since I was little, I've always helped feed, bathe, and walk my family's dogs of all breeds and sizes. As I grew up, my responsibilities did too! I've trained puppies and administered medication to seniors / sick dogs as well :) I'm currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to take care of your little fur babies! I'm genuinely passionate about animals of all kinds and love big dogs especially, as I've owned my own German Shepherd! I'm able to do with full on house sitting and just checking in. I currently live with my partner and our two cats! Even though I live with my partner, all pet sitting/care jobs I take are only done by me. I won't bring my partner to your home or around your pets! Our cats have differing food needs, so I make sure to follow vet directions as needed to keep my babies healthy. I also have a reoccurring client with kittens that I cat sit for! I've cleaned their boxes, fed them every day, and made sure to clean up any poopy messes one of them often left due to sickness :(

FAQs for House Sitting - Stone City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,053 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stone City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stone City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stone City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stone City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stone City. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
