About: I’ve had both dogs and cats my entire life and I love meeting new pets. I am perfectly comfortable caring for any pet of any size or condition! I work seasonal jobs and travel around the country but I am currently on my off-season so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet! I would love to hang out with your fur babies and make them feel comfortable while you’re away. I love to be outside and will give your pets as much exercise and stimulation as they need.

“Edyn was a wonderful Rover for my 6 yr old mini Schauzer. In fact, we've booked her again already. She's very prompt, sent photos and updates, and clearly loves dogs. Highly recommended”

“Spencer responded to a last minute request, agreed to meet me ahead of the sit to meet my dogs and was prompt and professional. He kept me well informed daily with photos and reports. I would highly recommend him!”

“Maria is the best! Thank you for taking care of our pets. She was communicative throughout our vacation and took extremely good care of the house and of our fur babies. Would highly recommend her.”

“Cambridge is absolute blessing. She was great at communicating with me the entire time she stayed. She was always punctual and cleaned up too. What I liked the most about her was how caring of person she was with my fur babies. She even sent me pictures of them which I was grateful to have.”
“Our dogs love Ms. Chris. She is professional and caring. She took time to walk and play with the dogs, provided daily updates with texts photos, which put us at ease. We will definitely book her again.”

“Amelia was amazing. I have 3 dogs and one of them is skittish but Amelia was excellent with her, my dog had an accident in the house and Amelia cleaned it thoroughly. Thank you.”

“Debbie is an exceptional pet and house sitter! Given the flexibility in her work schedule, she took the initiative to come out and meet us and our dogs before we left our trip. This allowed us to walk her through their routine and familiarize her with our home, creating an immediate sense of confidence in leaving our dogs under her care. Debbie's warm personality, coupled with her thoughtful questions, endeared her to both us and our dogs right away. Throughout our time away, Debbie consistently provided daily updates, complete with photos, and maintained open communication whenever she had questions, demonstrating her commitment to ensuring our pets were well cared for. I really appreciated her proactive approach to keeping us informed. When we got home, we were delighted to find our home in pristine condition, if not even cleaner than we left it! Debbie's attention to detail and respect for our space was clear, reinforcing our decision to entrust her with both our pets and home. Given the positive experience, we have already booked her for our next trip! Debbie's professionalism, reliability, and genuine love for animals make her a top choice for anyone seeking a trustworthy and caring pet/house sitter.”

About: Our family had dogs since I was a young boy; I've had many since then. I've also trained them. We also had fish, hamsters, birds, reptiles and lizards as pets. Some 15 years ago, one of my dogs went blind... I cared for him for 10 yrs after that until he passed away. He never left my side. A few years ago, I got another dog but she died of cancer last year. At the moment, I don't have a dog (she died) but I have 5 cats. I do rather well with both and my cats are quite used to dogs. I used to live on a ranch where we raised Arabians; I was responsible for feeding & caring as many as 18 horses. When I was younger, I rode often and played polo. My father passed 10 yrs ago and his wife sold our ranch. I am available to feed horses provided that I'm paid the time it takes to travel back and forth. I am available for cat/dog sitting & feeding. If you need dog boarding, please let me know if you pet gets along with cats. I work from home, so I am a home quite a bit. I also have a flexible schedule, and this can be accomodated to work around certain issues or conflicts. Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or comments. I have a large (unfenced) yard, but I am willing to take your pet on walks in my neighborhood, as needed. I live one block away from a park. I am home quite often, so your pet will rarely be left alone. I am available for drop-ins, visits, or even overnights.
About: Not much that sets me apart besides the fact that I have ADHD which means I hyper focus on things and will just hyper focus on the things that your pet needs/wants. And since I am able to do that with the combination of my experience with my own pets your pets will love to stay with me. Pet care is my full-time focus. Because I don't have a traditional 9-to-5, my schedule is completely flexible, allowing me to prioritize your pet's specific routine. Whether they need a mid-day medication dose, extra-long walks, or just someone home for consistent companionship, I am available to provide undivided attention and quick responses throughout the day. I provide a "home away from home" experience rooted in consistency. In my home, pets enjoy a safe, supervised environment with a routine that mirrors their own. When visiting your home, I prioritize security and cleanliness, ensuring your pet feels safe in their natural habitat. Regardless of the location, I maintain your specific feeding, exercise, and medical schedules with 100% precision, supplemented by frequent photo updates and plenty of one on one attention.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love caring for them. I’ve had dogs my entire life and would treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs, as well as dogs with special needs. I’m comfortable with medication management, maintaining feeding and potty routines, and making sure each dog’s individual needs are met. For me, pet sitting is about more than simply making sure a dog is fed and safe. I really value enrichment, play, exercise, affection, and creating an environment where your dog feels comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Whether that means a long walk, playing with their favorite toy, practicing some training, getting plenty of cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I want them to have a positive and enriching experience. Your pets are family, and I’ll treat them that way. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing that your dog is in loving, capable, and attentive hands while you’re away. I work remotely from home and have a lot of flexibility. I am available to watch your pet over the weekend where I am available 24/7. It is important to me that I am fully available while watching your pet. I live in a large home with many comfortable spaces for your pet. I provide multiple walks per day, constant snuggles and playtime. Since I do not have a fenced in yard, it is important to me that I provide ample physical exercise and outlets for energy
“Samantha was an AMAZING dog sitter for our sweet boy Wallace. We came home to a sweet and calm boy, and we could just tell how loved and attended to he had been during our time away. We appreciated her communication and she sent a few pics of our sweet boy, to let us know how he was doing. BONUS - she did an amazing sketch/doodle of him that I DO plan on framing bc it’s so incredible. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Denise has now been nice enough to house and dog sit for us a multiple amount of times and we have some booked in the future with her. We can confidently say we absolutely love having her take care of our pups and they love her too! She really goes above and beyond. She wrapped our Danes foot everyday for us on a wound she wouldn't leave alone and leaves us kind notes! Highly recommend. Really happy with her and Rover.com. - Chelsea and Tyler”
“Amber was very supportive while my dog was having an allergic reaction to her food, and I was trying to get her eating again on a more restrictive diet. I felt so comfortable and confident leaving my dog with Amber during this time so I could still catch a flight for the holidays. Amber even did some training with her!”

“Cassandra did a wonderful job taking care of our Foxy. She was incredibly patient and kind during Foxy's stay with her. We appreciated the updates and extra care she expressed during Foxy's stay. We would definitely recommend her!”

I believe staying active helps dogs stay happy, healthy, and balanced. I treat every pet as if they were my own, always providing love, attention, and a safe, fun environment. Working with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I always make sure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to pet care. I enjoy being active throughout the day, so I love taking dogs on walks, runs, and outdoor activities. I am attentive to their needs, routines, and behavior, making sure they feel safe, loved, and stress-free.
“We couldn't have left our pets, and our home, in better hands! We had a good feeling when Samantha stopped by for a meet n greet and our Molly took to her immediately. She's normally very shy and standoffish at first so it was particularly remarkable that she had no hesitation with Samantha at all. While we were gone Samantha kept us updated with daily reports and photos of our babies. When we arrived home (hours later than agreed, due to airline delays), the house was spotless and the animals were all happy & healthy. From now on, whenever we need house/pet sitting services she will be our first choice!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 814 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Adelaide. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Adelaide walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Adelaide maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Adelaide choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Adelaide. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
