David was the perfect sitter for our pups! Especially with my senior dog who requires more attention and medicine. Both dogs took to him really well. I would highly recommend him for any pet sitting!!!

Absolutely wonderful! This was our first stay with her and already booked her to watch our dogs again in the future. She put us at ease with leaving her with our anxious girl but she gave them both so much love. Great at communicating and sending updates/photos!

Phoebe was awesome! She kept us informed all day about how Maisey was doing. She took her on walks, rubbed her belly and took great care of her. She also sent us lots of pics throughout the day which I really appreciate. Can’t wait for her to stay with Maisey again

David R. Is by far the finest Dog Sitter I have encountered in my 30+ years as a pet owner. David cared for my two French bulldogs, Alma and Jessup, for five nights while I attended a conference. David sent comprehensive daily updates along with adorable pictures of my pups. He promptly responded to any questions and all inquiries! I would recommend David to anyone looking to pamper their pets!

Ilene stayed at our house with our three small dogs while we were away for a week and she took the best care of them! She sent updates and photos any time she could, and she made sure to follow the extra instructions I had for miscellaneous things around the house. The dogs really seemed to enjoy her and I would rebook her anytime!

We couldn't be happier with the way Eren and Luca cared for our two young cats while we were away! They gave them so much love and attention, and were very patient with our skittish kitty, monitoring him carefully to make sure he was getting enough food when he was too anxious to eat at regular mealtimes. They were great about checking in and sent us lots of video and photo updates, making it easy for us to relax during our trip in the confidence that our cats were being well taken care of. They followed our instructions carefully and left our house just as they found it. We highly recommend them!

This was the second time Andy watched our dog, Teddy, and once again he exceeded our expectations. Teddy is a young, very energetic golden retriever who needs a lot of exercise and attention. Andy stayed overnight at our house for 10 days while we were out of the country, and he took excellent care of Teddy the entire time. Andy handled all of Teddy’s routines perfectly, giving him his breakfast at 6 am and dinner at 6 pm each day. He also made sure Teddy got plenty of playtime, attention, and daily walks—which is no small task for such a hyper pup! We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog who clearly got lots of love while we were away. One of the things we really appreciate about Andy is his communication. While we were traveling, he sent us daily updates and lots of photos, which gave us total peace of mind. It’s clear that Andy really cares about the dogs he sits for, and he makes sure you know your pet is in good hands. We highly recommend Andy to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful sitter—especially if you have a dog who needs extra activity and attention. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!

About: I've been a dog lover my entire life and have always had dogs as part of my family. The only reason I don't currently have one of my own is because my landlord doesn't allow pets. Caring for animals, especially dogs, is something I truly enjoy, and I have experience with both dog walking and pet sitting. As a full-time professional who works from home most of the time, I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable, attentive care for your pet throughout the day. My career has taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, and reliability which are qualities I bring to every pet-sitting and dog-walking opportunity. I'm often the go-to person among my friends when they need someone to watch their dogs, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether it's taking your dog for a walk, providing companionship while you're away, or helping with other pet care needs, I'm happy to help. I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. My passion for animals, combined with my professionalism, dependability, and flexible availability, sets me apart. Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I love making time for animals. Three days a week I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, playtime, and drop-in visits throughout the day. On the days I’m not home, I’m still available for morning, evening, and weekend care. I enjoy building my schedule around pet care—it’s something I truly look forward to! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their routine consistent and their space respected. I’ve stayed in many people’s homes without any issues, always leaving things just as I found them. I focus on making pets feel comfortable and secure—whether that means following feeding schedules, giving walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply providing company. My goal is to treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

About: I've been around animals my whole life chickens, cats, dogs, ect and I've had my own dog for about 7 and a half years while taking care of other people's dogs and cats I'm pretty flexible with my schedule and right now, my current job schedule is 3p-11p every Friday and 3p-11p every other weekend. By the end of August I will be busy on Wednesday afternoons I have my own car so in the event of any mishap, emergency, or just a change of scenery for your pet I can provide that. I'm also very detail oriented so I ask many questions to ensure I know as much as possible about your pet so that they can be safe and happy in your absence.

Crystal was absolutely outstanding during her four-night stay caring for my dog, fish, shrimp, and home. My dog required extra attention—he had to wear a cone and needed regular eye drops—and Crystal handled it all with patience, care, and total competence. It gave me real peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. She also went the extra mile to reposition my battery-operated Ring camera so I could watch him napping around the house. On top of that, Crystal cared for my four aquariums (not a small job!) and followed my detailed list of instructions perfectly. Everything was clean, organized, and exactly as I left it. Beyond her reliability, Crystal is simply a joy to work with—sweet, funny, and clearly a true animal lover. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. I highly recommend Crystal without hesitation. She went above and beyond, and I would absolutely trust her again.

Maris went above and beyond to take care of our two dogs. I will admit that I was worried since we don’t have a fence yet and that is something our dogs were used to, but I was elated to get so many updates of them having a blast both throughout our trip away and when we got home! I honestly think they had more of a vacation than I did! Would 10/10 recommend Maris for your dog sitting needs!

About: I have loved and taken care of dogs all my life. I’ve had dogs from puppies to seniors and understand how to care to all their needs. Along with that I take the time to really get to know each dog on their own and establish a connection so that each party is happy. I currently work a full time job. However I work from home so that allows me to be flexible with my time and always there to attend to the dogs. I have a fenced in yard and a dog of my own to give your fur baby’s company. The dogs can free roam around the house but I’ll always make sure I can see them. If preferred to be caged that is also possible.

Khalaya is a very sweet person and took excellent care of my two dogs and cat. This was the first time I've hired someone to come take care of my animals, but she put me at ease when I met her. My dogs were excited to meet her and I felt comfortable leaving them with her for the weekend. She sent me pictures and a video of them while we were gone and they looked relaxed. I'm surprised my cat came out to meet her, but there's photographic evidence that she did! When we returned, our animals were happy and well cared for. They were happy to see us, but there is no doubt in my mind that they enjoyed getting tons of attention while we were away. I would absolutely have her back the next time we travel! Thank you Khalaya!

I can take care of other animals such as hamsters, Guinea pigs, reptiles, birds, fish, etc. before leaving a clients house I make sure all doors are locked, the pups are good & settled and the home is secure before heading out. Tracy is amazing! We had to go to West Virginia for the weekend and I didn’t have to worry one bit about our pups getting the best care! Not only did she feed them and let them out, she took time to do some training / games with them and even taught them new things! She was very attentive; sent lots of pictures and videos! Also, when the girls were playing one of them got hurt. She took super good care of her by keeping an eye on it and washed her face daily to ensure no infection! Not only did she take super good care of the pups, we came home to a perfectly maintained home! She did all of the dishes, mopped the floors (since it was snowing and there was salt and marks all over) and even replaced our milk because she used it! We didn't even require any of these things! To say Tracy is awesome is an understatement! We will definitely be using her again!

We were totally comfortable leaving our home and our pets in Kylie’s care while we were away. The photos she send every day kept us feeling close to our fur babies. Makayla was great. I used her for house sitting for my blind dog for a 5 night stay and used her again for a separate 1 night stay. Included giving my dog medicated eye drops. My dog loved her, she sent pictures, and was patient with my dog coming down stairs. She was able to give my dog her eye drops. No complaints here would certainly use her again if needed!

FAQs for House Sitting - Stiles

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,109 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stiles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stiles walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stiles maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stiles choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stiles. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
