Pet care experience

Kind & Professional Animal Lover

(Important information mentioned further down, I’ve tried to label them for easy viewing) *ABOUT ME* Hi, my name is Monica! I’ve been an avid animal lover as long as I can remember and greatly enjoy providing quality care for pets. I joined Rover the beginning of 2024 and it has been one of the best experiences to meet new people, explore new areas, and create lasting bonds with pets! I’m very easy to talk to so if you have any questions, please just reach out and ask! I also do pet portraits for an additional fee, reach out if interested!! My first experience dog walking professionally was when I was a kid at a campground my family frequented. My cousin and I made our own flyers and offered to walk other campers’ dogs for a whopping $1 (to be spent on candy or in the arcade). Some of my favorite memories were made at this campground! I worked as a daycare teacher for 3 years while at Shippensburg University. During those years, I’ve watched cats and dogs for friends on multiple occasions. I did this all while juggling work, school, and even being president of a community service fraternity where we spent 40 hours a semester volunteering around the local community. Some of this community service included hours spent in animal shelters cleaning cages, taking dogs for walks, or just hand-making toys for shelter dogs. I would love to be able to give your fur babies the attention, exercise, and potty breaks they need while you are busy. It is important to me to create a good relationship with both pet and owner so that you don’t feel any stress while away from your pet(s). I’m also looking forward to using this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors more and get some exercise of my own!

We had a wonderful experience! Our dog was very well cared for and it gave us such peace of mind knowing she was in good hands having Monica stay overnight while we were away for the week. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend!

We have used Monica more than once for house sitting in our home and she has been absolutely awesome! We even had an unexpected delivery which she handled without an issue. We will definitely ask her to watch our fir babies every time we need a sitter! Highly recommend!

House Sitting • Dec 16, 2025

We had a wonderful experience! Monica was friendly, reliable, and very professional from start to finish. A couple of weeks prior to the booking, she met with us on her own time for a meet-and-greet and stayed for about an hour, taking the time to truly get to know Quincy and build a connection with both us and our cat. That extra effort gave us so much peace of mind before the overnight stay. Communication was excellent—she provided regular updates and photos throughout the day. She truly stayed the entire day and overnight and took excellent care of Quincy. When we returned, the house was spotless. We would absolutely recommend her and would happily book with her again in the future.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

*MY SCHEDULE* I currently work full time as a Clinical Research Coordinator for St. Luke’s with flexible hours and 2 work from home days that change every week depending on my workload. I won’t always know my work from home days until the week before but I try my best to accommodate. I don’t work evenings, weekends, or holidays so I have more flexibility for pet sitting on those days! I try my best to reply as quickly as possible but if I’m stuck in a meeting or seeing a patient, I may not be able to reply right away so please be patient. NOTE: Requests for weekly care can only be done on evenings or early mornings during the week due to my full time job schedule. Exceptions may sometimes be made. NOTE: there will be an additional fee if you are requesting 24/7 care for your pet. I would need to make special accommodations for these types of requests, thank you for understanding.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

*CARE* I firmly believe our pets are family and should be treated as such. I am very attentive and have a lot of patience towards all animals. It is my priority for your pet to feel safe and comfortable in my care by sticking to their usual routine inside your home. My own pet has very special dietary restrictions for his health so I understand first hand how important it is to follow instructions for your pets as well. *SAFETY*: Please note I do typically request meet & greets prior to services, not only for my own safety and wellbeing, but to help the pet feel familiar with me! This is where we can go over feeding routines, a tour of the home (if applicable to overnights), and special instructions that would be easier explained in person than over text. NOTE: the number used to text me is a rover generated number and not my real number. This applies to your number when reaching out, as well. We can exchange numbers at the Meet & Greet for easier communication

A typical day

*TYPICAL DAY FOR PET*: I love going for walks and exploring the community! I’ve taken some dogs to Rita’s for a pup cup while on our walk or I’ve even brought my own puzzle feeder for them to be mentally stimulated. We can play fetch or tug of war as much as they want! Alternatively, I’m perfectly happy to be a couch potato with my new furry friend.

*IMPORTANT PET INFORMATION*: I completely understand some pets have special needs or quirky behaviors, and that’s okay! I have unconditional love for all animals so this isn’t a problem, however, please always give an accurate and up to date description of pet behavior so I can be well prepared. If there’s tips and tricks you have to make caring for your pet easier, I’d love to know them, as well as any unusual commands you may have for them that they listen well to. Thanks!
