“Melissa was excellent with our three dogs! She handled everything perfectly, and even with two of them being foster puppies who are barely trained. She was patient, caring, and kept us updated throughout. We came home to happy, relaxed pups. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and loving sitter!”

“Alexis was great! She came over for a quick meet and greet a few weeks before the time she was needed for sitting, and my pups instantly loved her. She was there when she said should would be and took great care of the pups while we were away!”

“Alexis was amazing first time I met her. I knew she would be great with my dog Maggie. Who is blind and deaf? And I knew she would put the patience in to take care of her for my journey away. She was an amazing pet sitter and house sitter. She did an exceptional job and I would recommend her to any one I am planning to use her in the future as well.”

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is the personal attention and genuine care I give to each dog I watch. I don’t just check in—I spend real time getting to know their personality, routines, and what makes them feel safe and happy. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel loved, comfortable, and entertained while their owner is away. Whether it’s playing, relaxing, or sticking to their daily routine, I stay patient, observant, and fully present. My goal is to create a calm, fun, and trustworthy environment that gives both the dog and their owner peace of mind. Pet care just naturally fits into my day. I start with feeding and a walk, which gets me moving in the morning. Throughout the day, I hang out with the dogs , play a little, maybe practice a few tricks or just relax together. I check on them often, make sure they’re comfortable, happy, and have what they need. It doesn’t feel like a chore—it’s just part of the flow. Taking care of dogs adds some fun and calm to my routine, and honestly, their energy and affection make the whole day better. I have three lovable pets to keep your pet company. I have a dog park in our neighborhood but are also less than 20 minutes away from two bigger dog parks as well!

I am very passionate about taking care of dogs. Im trustworthy and responsible. Their happiness is my happiness. I have a secure fenced in backyard. Dogs will be free to roam my home. I have crates if needed and toys. I also take them on very long walks.
About: Hi there! Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I truly love spending time with dogs and cats, getting to know their personalities, routines, and all their little quirks. My 13-year-old lab/hound mix, Mabel, keeps me laughing every day and has given me lots of experience caring for a senior pup with love and patience. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll treat your pet with the same care, attention, and affection I give Mabel, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away! I am working remote with meeting in the morning, so I can offer early afternoon through evening visits/walks, and can plan for house sitting on most days if you have WiFi I can connect to! I’m happy to care for your pet in whatever way you let me know they respond to best! Some pets like lots of snuggles, some prefer more play time — I’m here for all of it!
About: Growing up we always had pets and now is no different with two fur babies of my own. I have a large patio with a doggie door to the large fenced in yard. I respect some dogs like to stay in the comfort zone of their own home so we can drive to feed, walk, and administer medications. Always feel free to message me with your questions. I’m available for weekend boarding for those who want to getaway for the weekend. I work full time during the week; so boarding during the week is possible; however, there would just be a little less play. I have a fenced yard and lots of toys. I also have two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed.
About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was young, and it has always brought me so much joy. I’ve been surrounded by German Shepherds my whole life and had my first Pit Bull about 10 years ago. After recently losing my fur baby, I’d love to continue sharing the love, attention, and care I have to give with other pets ❤️ WHY CHOOSE ME? I am reliable I am compassionate I am caring and loving I am patient and attentive I am trustworthy and best of all affordable 🐶 I own a business that really just requires my time in the mornings on some weekends. My daughter just started school so I have quite a bit of extra time to give to your little ones 🐾 I live on a large bit of property. If your dog prefers to run around or even enjoy a nice swim in our pond they will have the time of their lives. I also have a fenced in yard and a dog door for them to go in and out whenever they please.
“Madysen gave my fur babies comfort & lots of love as I wasn't able to take them with me on my vacation with my grandson. She monitored Mitzi 's ear as in gets infected easily. She played with them. She even let them sleep with her to prevent any sadness. Dandy got the belly rubs he loves. Rascal the cat even got some attention & neck scratches. I've been approved for return care so they must have behaved well enough... LoL. Thanks bunches Madysen.”

“Megan was super attentive and responds very quickly! She was professional but personable and took great care of our dogs. She provided photos and updates that kept us at ease! We will absolutely book her again in the future!!”

“Christine was fabulous with her week stay with our dog Harper. She communicated often and I was highly confident in how she would take care of our fur baby. She went above and beyond to wash the linens and our house was spotless. We be booking with Christine again!”

About: With over 6 years of pet sitting experience and 15+ years caring for my own animals, I treat every pet like family. I’m dedicated to providing personalized care, your way, ensuring your pet feels loved and safe while in my care! My open weekly schedule is a little bit tricky due to me working full-time about 20 minutes away. My availability on those days would only be to the pets who don’t need to be let out side for about an eight hour period until I got home. Otherwise, my weekend schedule is fully open and I can be home all day to let any pets outside that I would need to. In my home, pets enjoy plenty of attention, playtime, and walks—with help from my two kids (ages 9 and 11) to keep them company. Pets are welcome on my furniture! In your home, I’ll follow your routine closely and tailor care to your pet’s needs in any way you request.
About: All my life I have grown up with dogs and taking care of them. In the past, others have relied on me to feed , bathe, and walk their loved pets. I work part time as a personal trainer / group fitness instructor. Therefore, my schedule is very flexible. I can walk or take care of your animal anytime of the day! I have a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Great Pyrenees at home who loves to meet new friends. I have a large dog crate at home in case you would prefer that. I walk my dogs at least 5 times a day, so I would be accommodating of that as well.
“Tim is awesome! I’ve used many sitters through Rover and Tim is the best! This is the 2nd time he has watched my 4 dogs and chickens at my house. He feeds them and spends a great deal of time with them. He also goes above and beyond by sweeping my floors and washing the bedding in my guest bedroom he slept in. It’s nice going on vacation and not having to worry. It’s also great coming home from vacation to happy dogs and a clean house.”

“Ryan was amazing! Our Rottweiler can be a handful sometimes but he took such great care of her. He took her on plenty of walks and sent so many videos and photos which helped with my separation anxiety! He sent us updates regularly, and he also cleaned up which was so nice to come home to! He was extremely accommodating with the time of arrival and stayed when our flight got canceled. I highly recommend Ryan, he’ll definitely take such good care of your fur baby and your home!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Springfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Springfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Springfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Springfield. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
