“I am so grateful to have found a sitter like Rhylie, she is so sweet and helpful with my dog! During the meet and greet she brought him some snacks and toys ❤️ She has done several activities like salt dough paw prints and air dry clay prints! My boy is a special case, he is very wary of new people and has some health issues, I trust that Rhylie’s attention to detail and overall love for animals will keep him safe during their visits. She also makes sure to send updates and keep me in the loop during their visits so I have no worries while I’m away from home. I will 100% rebook with her and am so happy to see my boy be so excited to see her when she visits 😊”

About: I've worked in pet care for the past 3 yrs and I have always had a passion for animals. I also know how to pill/give medications to dogs and have handled elderly pups! I work part-time allowing me tons of time to play with your pup! I typically prefer Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm, but am flexible if needed. I'm unable to accommodate pets in my home overnight, but am more than happy to come to you! I am also totally available to do baths, nail trims, and simple cuts while I am there for an extra fee.
“Leona was so great with our Greta while we were away! She made friends with Greta, who is usually strange with people she doesn’t know, putting her at ease till we returned. We highly recommend Leona!”

About: I have taken care of other people’s pets since I was 11 years old. I was a vet technician for several years and a zookeeper for 3 years. I love animals and will take good care of your pets. I work full time but am off early on Fridays and off on Saturdays and Sundays. Any time works on those days. Evening or early morning on weekdays could be done. I have a big fenced yard and lots of beds. I have a one story house with lots of room. I treat them like beloved house guests.

“No need to click on any other provider! Meagan is the one for you. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. She took amazing care of our pups and our home, going above and beyond. We will definitely be booking with her again if we ever need care.”
About: I’ve had animals of all kinds my whole life. I’ve volunteered at the humane society to walk big and difficult or hard to adopt out dogs and help get them adopted. I’ve walked Llamas and pigs and I’ve babysitting a sugar glider and pot belly pig, that’s the last thing unique sitting experience! My last dog was a bull terrier who lived to be 16 and he was my first baby. My current love is my 3 year old Merlegreat Dane names Zeus and he is a Completely hilarious pup! Bull terriers and Great Danes are a unique breed but so much fun and it brings me so much joy to be around animals and help them in anyway. We also have a hedgehog named Tiger Lily and two chickens Daisy and Fluffy butt, free range. Love my little crew! I’m a stay at home mom and a retired Marine veteran. I have nothing but time during the week to help out and possibly weekends depending on the date and time. I can crate them if need be, walk, play, feed, bathe and watch over your pet drop off at doggy day care or play at the dog park if they’re up for it! I’m experienced in large strong breeds as well as tiny little guys!

About: I’ve helped with various sized dogs for friends and family and I’ve worked with big dogs so nothing scares me! I am 5 foot tall though so smaller dogs would be preferred! 😂😂 I’m currently working for a preschool M-F 8:30 AM-2:30 PM. I thought this would be a fun way to earn extra income since I love pets! 🐾❤️ My cat Pumpkin is an indoor cat so I don’t let him wander outside. He’s more of a grazer when it comes to eating so I just keep an eye on his food & water and refill when he needs it. As long as I have clear instructions on how to feed/check up on pets in the past, I’ve been good about that. 👍🏻
About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs for as long as I can remember! From pit bulls to poodles. I currently have a German shepherd husky mix and she is the sweetest, gets along great with other dogs. I’m not currently working so I’m fully available to house sit and/or walk your animals as often as you need. I love dogs and cats! I currently live in an apartment with my doggie, kitty, and two year old son. He loves helping me feed our pets and take them outside to play and go on walks. We have a small fenced dog park in our apartment complex. We go there often. But I prefer to care for your pets in your home where they are comfortable. I’m unfortunately not allowed to have other pets in my home.
“Rheya was wonderful with our dogs. She followed all instructions and cared for our fur babies at our RV park campsite while we were on vacation. She was on time and communication was excellent! We will definitely call on her services again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Springfield
Aubrey was so great with my cat, Mako! I loved getting a photo of him during every drop in and I felt confident that he was being well cared for. Aubrey even helped watch my foster cat who wasn’t able to find another foster placement before my trip. She has a lot of experience with fosters and rescue animals and it was so nice to know that both kitties were in good hands. I highly recommend her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
