“I've had many pet sitters over the years, but none has gone more above and beyond than Breana. She is generous, kind, completely reliable, and always willing to go the extra mile. I can leave her with my creatures and know that she is taking care of them in the same manner that I would. You will not find a better person to take care of yours!”

“Lisa was great! She was so conscientious of our dogs well being and of our home. Was a great experience having her stay at our home to care for our dogs. Thank you!”

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs, including German Shepherds, Boxers, and Mastiffs, so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. My family always had two or three dogs, which gave me years of hands-on experience with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I’ve also provided dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight care for friends, and through TrustedHousesitters. I’ve completed extended pet sits lasting up to a month. I treat every pet like family and strive to make them feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work part time and remotely, this means that my schedule is pretty flexible. I have a few work meetings and a workout routine that I will stick to. This make it super easy to have time to care for your pets. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of walks, playtime, and companionship, and receive any medications or special care they need. I love spending quality time with pets, whether that’s playing, cuddling, practicing basic training, or simply keeping them company. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own, and I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I have had pets in my life ever since I was little. So I love helping take care of them. I also am very good with puppies and teaching them new tricks, and helping with potty train. I also love helping keep dogs very active, or just chill with them and cuddle! I am a stay at home mom, so I have plenty of free time. All days of the week are good for me. I’m even available on weekends if needed. I have a fenced in backyard. I also have a dog of my own, who loves to play with others and gets along with all sizes. He loves to share his toys or just play together. Or if it’s in your own home, anywhere your fur baby loves to play! I also have dog parks around for your baby to play with or without others, and a nice neighborhood to walk around. Or we can walk around your neighborhood as well!
“I was really worried about my two girls Rajah and Zoe (boxers). Rajah and Zoe are very attached to mommy and daddy. We don’t leave them that often simply because of age and medical conditions. Rajah and Zoe toke to Brittney when we did a first meet and once again a few days before we left town for the weekend and they were completely comfortable with her and even my cat toke her, and he normally doesn’t take to strangers right away. Brittney responded to my text with in a reasonable amount of time when I messaged her. So, yes we would use Brittney again.”

“Jana was vert friendly and it was super easy to work with her. She was great with all of my animals even my skittish cat came out for some love from Jana! I will definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own animals since I was 10 years old. My neighbors always relied on me to walk their animals and take care of personal stuff as needed:) I am currently in nursing school and my classes go through majority of morning but in afternoon I’m free to take care of your animal I have a small apartment but it is perfect for my animals and me. I’m more so looking to go help at other peoples houses since the small environment may not be best for all of our children lol
About: I've grown up having dogs and cats. I love farm animals. I take care of others people's pets like my own. My husband and I have two dogs named Bonnie and Rufus. I am a stay at home wife. So pet care is the best fit for me. I also love animals so I really enjoy taking care of pets. I currently do not have a fence in yard. My dog Bonnie stays indoors. I can use a collar and leash. I can also use a crate if needed.
“Abigail was great! She provided updates throughout the day along with pictures and even video! She took care of our pup and home like it was her own. Thank you for a great visit!”

About: Experienced with a variety of pets, personalities, and temperaments, including pets with different routines and needs. I’m dependable, attentive to detail, comfortable with walks and exercise, and experienced with administering medications when needed. You can count on me to follow your instructions carefully and provide consistent, responsible and loving care. I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and allows me to spend more time with your pet throughout the day. I’m able to provide attentive, consistent care rather than simply stopping by and rushing off. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment for every pet in my care. I carefully follow your instructions, keep pets secure and supervised, and pay close attention to their behavior, routines, and individual needs. My goal is for you to feel completely confident knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Thanks John for taking great care of our place and our kitty. This was our first time using the Rover app and I would recommend it to friends. As a matter of fact, I'll do it today.”

About: Hello! 👋 Thank you for visiting my profile! I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life—from horses and dogs to cats, ferrets, and just about everything in between. Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine, and over the years I’ve been trusted by family, friends, and neighbors to care for their beloved pets. I’d love the opportunity to care for yours! I have a flexible, home-based schedule that allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and personalized care throughout your pet’s stay. I know leaving your pet with someone new can feel overwhelming, which is why I always recommend scheduling a meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure we’re a great fit. We primarily live in Florida but spend part of the summer at our home in Massachusetts. My calendar is always kept up to date, so you can book with confidence. Your dog will be welcomed into our home as part of the family. We have a fully fenced 6-foot privacy yard for safe outdoor play, and our two friendly resident dogs enjoy making new canine friends. For everyone’s safety, I kindly ask that all pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
“Once again...a perfect experience leaving my home and my pet in the hands of Sheliya. I booked a second stay with her because the first time was exactly everything I needed and all went well. If you are nervous to leave your home and pet, then I encourage anyone out there to try Sheliya first! She's the absolute best!”

“Morgan was amazing! I needed a sitter with minimal notice. She was flexible, prompt, and so loving to my dog. She helped my dog adapt to a new home easily and treated him like her own. Will definitely work with Morgan again.”
“Taylor did a fantastic job! We had never left our boy before and were so worried. Taylor took great care of him, sent photos, and spoiled him while she was here. This helped us to relax while we were gone, knowing he was well cared for and spoiled.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Springfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Springfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Springfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Springfield. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
