About: Dogs have been a part of my life for over 50 years. I've cared for my own pets as well as regularly helped family and friends by watching their dogs, walking them, and making sure they were well cared for while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like part of the family. I am retiring and love working with dogs, so my schedule is very flexible. This allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and care while keeping active and meeting new furry friends I provide a safe and loving environment with a fenced-in yard for supervised outdoor time. I make sure dogs get regular walks, exercise, and plenty of attention. I also enjoy keeping pets engaged with toys and fun activities, including an outdoor pool in the summer, so they stay happy, active and comfortable.

Allison did a great job with our two dogs. Both are big anxious girls and she managed them right after a move. We’re grateful and will likely use her again.

About: My name is Amanda, I’m thirty nine and child less so that means more time for dogs! I recently lost my senior bulldog Junior so Im new to this site but figured it would be a good idea to try and fill my time when i’m not at work since all my free time was spent with him. I work full time in the evenings so morning/afternoon walks and/or drop ins are ideal. I am also flexible on my off days which are during the weekdays. Love to take walks and/or keep your dog company while you work or have plans for the day. If you are taking a trip or a vacation; I’m open to stay with your pet at their own house if that’s where they feel most comfortable. The only stipulation is that I will still be working my full time job which is evening hours. So if your dog can be alone for 8 hours- I’d love to be able help you out.

About: I’ve taken care of animals for over a decade now. It’s a passion- I went to Vet school for 6months. I am able to give insulin, give any medications. I am very comfortable with reactive dogs and I use to have a reactive dog myself so i understand it. I enjoy doing what the animal does, they like to sit around and hang out? Sure so do I! If they like to go on frequent walks and play all day? Okay I’m down! I’m very open minded and understanding of everyone’s situation. I’ve animal sat - Reptiles, Dogs, Cats, Birds, Rodents. The size makes no difference to me either, I’ve watched Great Danes and I’ve watched Corgis :) I’m not great at writing but I promise I’m great at caring for you animal 🫶🏻 I’m currently unemployed- I leave October 4th for CDL training so I just need to fill time and I would love nothing more than taking care of animals! I like to walk often - sometimes around the block but most times in the woods and for a couple miles. I’m also a gamer so I do enjoy sitting down to play for a couple hours out of the day. So I’m at home most of the day. I would more than likely come to your home but I’ll explain my living :) My boy Frodo is an off leash dog, I trained him and still continue to train him. Either me or my fiance will take him for a walk, I usually take him on about a 2mi walk. He eats 2 times a day(kibble and homemade). Lots and lots of playtime unless he’s sleeping we are doing something. Just kind of puts in your mind what I do with my animal <3

About: Professional dog trainer, not just a sitter – I understand canine behavior, body language, and how to manage dogs safely and confidently. Behavior-aware care – I proactively manage jumping, pulling, barking, and over-arousal instead of ignoring it. As a professional dog trainer, my schedule already revolves around dogs. Pet care is a priority in my day, allowing me to provide structured routines, supervised activity, and mental enrichment. Dogs in my care are integrated into my daily routine and receive consistent attention, not just drop-in care. I I provide structured, attentive care tailored to each dog’s needs, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in their own. In my home, dogs follow a consistent routine that includes scheduled feedings, frequent potty breaks, walks, enrichment, play, and calm rest time. I keep a limited number of dogs to ensure safety and individual attention, and I carefully manage introductions and interactions. In a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to reduce stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any house rules. I focus on calm handling, safety, and clear communication, and I always leave the home clean and respected. As a professional dog trainer, I naturally reinforce good manners and basic obedience during care while prioritizing your dog’s comfort, safety, and well-being. I also provide regular photo and video updates so owners feel confident and connected

About: I had numerous dogs growing up and currently have one of my own, Finley, a Goldendoodle; I adore looking after pets and others. Dogs of all energy levels are welcome as I have a large yard, great for playtime, and plenty of space to accommodate others. Plenty of experience with medicines and special needs animals, too. Routine is key with time management to make sure there’s adequate time for play and adventure. Every morning starts with a walk, and I typically take my own pet to the park twice a day. My home has an enclosed backyard with ample space to run around. When house/petsitting, I’ll always ensure pets are on a leash before exiting to run errands or go for a walk.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
