“Hali was incredibly kind, professional, and accommodating. She took everything in stride despite delays in my travel and with patience as times for drop off and pick up changed as a result. I would absolutely recommend her to other pet parents! Thank you, Hali ☀️”

“My girl Cheddar had a great time with Karlyn! She and her daughter took excellent care of Cheddar, showered her with lots of love and cuddles, and made her feel comfortable while I was away. Karlyn was responsive when I needed her, proactively communicative with updates and pictures, and flexible with scheduling pickup and dropoff. Cheddar looks forward to her next visit and I highly recommend her as a sitter.”
“Amazing sitter. She took such good care of my older dog over the holidays and kept me updated on how he was doing. If I wasn't moving across the country I would definitely book Cindy again.”

“Jenny and her husband are the best dog sitters we’ve ever had! One of our pups got a little sick, and he they took every precaution to make sure he was okay. From calling the vet, sending us updates, and sleeping with him at night to make sure he was okay, they treated our dogs just like they were their own. They really put us at ease and we always know that our dogs are in good hands when they go to visit!”

“Monica and Conrad are truly awesome. Leaving our puppy, kiko, over the Christmas holiday felt easy knowing he was in such caring hands. We loved the constant updates, and it was clear she got plenty of play, exercise, and even some command work. Their dog Pongo, was sweet and showed our pup around during hikes. Highly recommend.”

“Brijana is the best! This was our first time leaving our pup, Tofu, with a sitter and we were super nervous. We knew Tofu was in great hands with Brijana! She kept us updated every day with texts and photos and was very patient when our little Tofu was potty-shy. She keeps the doggies in spaces where they will be comfortable and safe but also provides them the opportunity to play with the other doggies that are staying with her as well. I will absolutely book with her any time we need a sitter again. Thanks Brijana!”

“I just cannot say enough good things about Amy and her care for my pup Beau. Above all else, Amy and Beau really connected, and seeing how comfortable and relaxed he was with her and her family gave me the ability enjoy my trip. Amy sent pictures of Beau enjoying his stay at least once a day. So glad to finally have found my dog person!”
“We had a great experience using Melissa! Ace was well taken care of and clearly had a great time. We really appreciated the updates and pictures. We’ll definitely rebook again in the future! 🐾💕”

“Eliana took such great care of our 5 month old chihuahua/chiweenie puppy while we were in town visiting the area. Our sweet pup felt safe, secure and cared for at her home and received loads of attention! We received numerous updates and photos that certainly reassured us our pet was happy and well while we were away. Highly recommend!!!”

“Brittany took really good care of my pup. She was very responsive when I texted her to ask how he was doing. She cared for him like he was her own. My dog stops eating in new places but she mixed in some of her own wet food to make sure he wasn’t starving. Highly recommend her and would definitely be using her services in the future. She’s awesome!”

“Jeslyn was so sweet! She arrived at the car with treats to pick up my pup, and kept her comfortable and was well taken care of. Great communicator, I received plenty of pictures throughout her stay. Will definitely book again!”

Emeline is very knowledgeable about animal care, and I always feel confident knowing Calliope is in such good hands. I also really appreciate her thoughtful communication, which always puts me at ease while I’m away. I’m so grateful for the care she provides. She’s wonderful, and I highly recommend her!”

“Marissa and Kevin are truly a needle in a haystack here on Rover. They are extremely attentive, caring, and understanding of our pups unique behaviors and needs. They have a wonderful home and outdoor space. They took our pup on many adventures and made sure he was very well loved throughout his stay—the pictures we received were AMAZING. We are so relieved to have found Marissa and Kevin and have already planned many more boarding sessions with them.”

“Denise was incredible, our dogs loved her! We went out of the country, so we were nervous to leave them behind, but they loved their time at Denise's house. Our larger dog is dog reactive (except for his brother) and she was able to manage that very well. He also requires medication, which was handled by Denise as well. She updated us with photos during the trips and the dogs didn't want to leave!”

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life so I can take care of puppies to elderly dogs. Most dogs love me and want to come play and pet. I also have a 2.5yr old son who absolutely LOVES dogs. We are happy to take care of dogs with special needs or is on mediations. We had a cat that just recently passed away and she would have been 19yrs old this year. She had asthma and we had to give her an inhaler 2x a day for 10 years. Happy to help your family with any special needs. We will love them like our own while you are away. I currently run my own business and work from home. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fairly easily adopt to your needs and help out wherever I can. I have a nice size home so your dog will have lots of free range all over the house. I live in a very pet friendly community so there are a ton of dogs around and a nice place to go walking the dog.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Springdale home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Springdale.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Springdale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
