I can’t thank Andrea enough for all that she did for us. I am so grateful for her. Louie is an extremely anxious puppy and he fell in love with her!!! He definitely already misses her because he kept looking for her in the spare room. I will continue to book Andrea for every trip and you should consider her too. Andrea was very respectful and attentive. She constantly sent us updates and pictures. Thank You for all you did Andrea! You’re the best and we consider you family now! 🩷

About: Well my current major in college is something I can use to work with animals at a job . And I’ve potty trained many dogs , and taken care of a wide variety of animals . I’m currently working part time at a retail job so I do have a lot of time on my hands . I also currently have school but it doesn’t interfere with anything major . I take care of my mothers dog his name is zen , I make sure to take him out whenever he needs the restroom , and I make sure he isn’t bored by helping him play with his dog toys .

Amazing dog sitter, extremely friendly, understanding, flexible, and everything else you could ask for. We were worried because our Akita doesn’t like people. But Sarah was very patient and was able to work with all 4 of our dogs.

About: I have a schnauzer/ terrier mix. Love my dog, I care about animals just like you do! Teach me how to take care of yours! I am currently on the job market, so I have lots of free time to take care of those fur babies! Love them all haha. I respect boundaries and limitations, especially at someone’s house, I work well with animals because they’re easier to babysit, not as unpredictable as humans haha.

Natalie and Benji bonded quickly. Natalie was very good about responding to any inquiries and sending pics of Benji. Benji has high anxiety, especially during the July 4th holiday. We really appreciated Natalies caring attitude. We would not hesitate to recommend Natalie as a dog / house sitter. We have already booked another vacation. with Natalie as our sitter.

About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals. When my kids were young, we rescued a Basset Hound along with two cats, Boo and Iggy. After transitioning to working from home, I began fostering dogs through a rescue organization. Since then, I’ve cared for five fosters—including two five-week-old puppies. Each dog came with their own unique personality and backstory, making every experience special. One of them became a foster fail, and I now share my home with Drake, a mixed Doberman Pinscher. It’s nearly impossible not to fall in love with every dog that comes through your door. I'm in a new season of life—my kids are off working and in college, and now it's my time to for new experiences. I'm embracing the freedom to travel and work remotely, and what better way to do it than by discovering new cities at my own pace—while spending time with the sweetest furry companions along the way! I have a fairly open and flexible schedule. I work freelance from home, which allows me to easily adjust my day around your pet’s needs and your preferred schedule. About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs for as long as I can remember! I’ve always had a strong connection to them .I started taking care of them around the age of 8-9 when my dad gifted my my first dog. This is where my dog caretaking journey began 🩵Years later, a little pregnant chihuahua came into our doorstep, we nursed her back to health since she was beat up and hungry .I took care of many puppy litters growing up ! Eventually we gave them away to loving homes because there were so many of them to care for. Years later a, my sister was gifted a mutt named Toulouse who lived for 8 years, buts sadly passed. Whenever my family was out, I was usually the one taking care of him. I made sure my dogs were well fed, safe, and happy. Currently looking for a job ! , I have lots of time in my hands, I love spending time and taking care of dogs or cats. My dogs were mostly inside the house on severe weather days, for example during the hot days or rainy days .My dogs were supplied with freah clean water and food.(given occasional snacks ) They had their bed inside at all time so they can nap in the living room, most of the time in my room where I was . I tried to clean them daily to keep their fur from accumulating dirt. I never placed my pets in a endangering environment or situation, they were always kept safe. I’m very cautious when it comes to monitoring a dogs behavior, when my dogs were pups I had to keep an eye so they wouldn’t cause any mischief .

About: I have a 8 year old Maltese mix that I have taken care of since she was around 5 weeks old. Her mother died and I took her in from a friend of mine and she is healthy and happy to this day! I am originally from the island of Guam and flew her to live with me in Texas. Since then she has traveled to Hawaii, California, Washington, Ohio, Georgia, new Mexico, and Arizona! Growing up I also had many childhood pets that I took care of and loved including birds, fish, cats, hamsters, and rabbits. I recently got out of active duty and am a stay at home wife so I have a lot of time on my hands! I am available Monday-Sunday and most holidays. I treat all animals as if they are my children and give them all of the love and attention possible! I promise to give endless belly rubs and always ensure a safe environment for your fur babies. I am trustworthy, responsible, and more than capable to take on any task! I live in a house that has a gated back yard. Your pets' safety and happiness are paramount. I aim to create a stress free and fun environment for everyone.

Nayeli jumped in while I was out of town and had a horrible sitter who was leaving my dog alone and not walking him. She went above and beyond dealing with the issues the prior sitter had left, including dealing with police and a broken window all while I was out of state. She did amazing with my pup who had just been traumatized by the prior sitter. Can’t thank her enough for being available last minute to hop in when I was across the country and the love she showed my pup!

Tessa was easy to communicate with, and she always responded in a timely manner. We received updates throughout the day on our babies, and she even messaged when she had a question about something. We were able to enjoy our mini-vacation with zero worries about our fur babies, whom we had to leave at home. We will definitely book with her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Sparks

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Sparks on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 312 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sparks. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sparks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sparks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sparks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sparks. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
