“Ginger had a wonderful experience when we went on vacation last week and left her with Maria and her family. They took very good care of her and I felt very comfortable leaving her with them. I hope to ask them again in the future to dog sit for us. ”

“Ifan was awesome, looked after my best bud for 2 weeks and my pup loved every minute of it. Ifan was very responsive as well to questions and sent timely updates. Will book again for sure!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our pooch. I am sure he enjoyed the company (canine and human), the outside time, and such comfortable inside accommodations. I am sure he will want to come for another visit soon!”

“We feel so lucky to have found Katie! She watched Mac for 3 nights and was incredibly flexible and communicative. She was accommodating of our rather last minute request and returned Mac happy and exhausted. Her house is clean and so well-equipped for a big mischievous puppy like Mac. We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“I was very anxious about using a new sitter during a week-long vacation, but Allison immediately put my mind at ease! It was clear from the moment we met, that my dog, Grandpa, was in good hands. She sent photos every day along with daily updates, which made it much easier to relax! I recommend Allison without hesitation and will definitely be using her again!”

“Katie took exceptional care of our golden retriever. She gave updates on how he was doing throughout the stay and asked great questions about how she could make him feel right at home. Excellent communication but most importantly a great family that treated our dog like their own. 5 stars!! Highly recommend!!”

“My dog was very well take care by Aishea. He was happy staying there. She was very responsive and sent me daily check ins. I will definitely recommend her.”

“Summer was amazing with our dog, Abby. She provided pictures and updates regularly. Abby seemed really comfortable when we took her to meet Summer. We appreciate all of the snuggle time Abby got and will not hesitate to leave her in Summer’s care again! Thank you for everything, Summer.”

“Sarah was amazing! From the beginning, she was very responsive to all of our questions about the booking. Our dog tends to be shy and can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs, but Sarah made it work, and our dog got along with hers right away. She sent us daily updates with photos and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. Our dog was very happy during her stay! We will definitely book with Sarah again and highly recommend her as a dog sitter.”

“Let start by saying that this was my first time leaving my 7 month old pup with a sitter so I was a little nervous about leaving her. Christie helped me to feel at ease by sending me pictures of my Zoe looking happy and relaxed in her home. She took great care of my baby and I would definitely use her again.”

“My dog loves Kim and her kids so much. She was so excited to see them on her last stay. I felt like the mom of a three year old being dropped off at preschool when the kid runs in and starts playing with their friends. I'm so glad our dog is so happy at Kim's place!!!”

“Nazim is super easy to work with, and my dogs clearly love him. In general, I don’t like leaving the dogs alone, but I feel great about leaving them with him. Nazim understands and likes dogs. Ten out of ten, would book again.”

“Elizabeth watched my two dogs for the first time for two nights. My two seven year old boys are higher energy requiring more attention than many other dogs. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is incredibly sweet, attentive, and deeply responsible. Both my dog felt right at home from early on and absolutely enjoyed the walks and playtime. She sent me regular updates with pictures allowing total peace of mind. Perhaps more importantly, my two knuckleheads found a new best friend and I found a sitter that will definitely be used again for future needs.”

“Oh my goodness, where do I start?! I was terrified to leave my 5 year old Frenchie with anyone while I went on a family cruise because he had just been prescribed daily meditation for severe back pain. My friends and family all had plans so I took my chances and turned to Rover.com. I read through a ton of reviews and finally chose Briana. Boy, am I GLAD I did??!! I feel like I hit the jackpot!!!!!! Briana was a true God send!!! From the very first text interaction, I knew she was the one! She asked ALL the right questions and even offered to do a meet and greet beforehand! She was warm, inviting and extremely responsive before we had even met. Her home is beautiful and immaculate, and my baby felt right at home with her and her loving family! She stayed in contact, sent pictures and videos and was just as much of a “nurse” as I am with his daily meditation and TLC!! She even went the extra mile to get him more fresh food because I accidentally didn’t pack enough (the joys of packing an entire family for a cruise will sometimes make you forget about the family pets needs😩😂). When my Frenchie was leaving her home, he turned around a dozen times (in his own way of saying goodbye) and even watched her home from the car window as we drove way— which was a sign that he was loved and cared for enough to feel sad to leave them. THAT was my sign to add her to my contacts list as his forever dog sitter!! I CAN NOT RECOMMEND HER ENOUGH!!!! If you’re looking for a “second family” for your fur baby, SHE should be choice!!! I am SO glad I made the perfect decision for him,AND us as a family!! Gift yourself the peace of mind you need while you’re away and chose this sitter. Thank me later!!! 😜”

“I booked Rachel last minute fully expecting for her to not respond or say she was available and she responded within minutes for my last second request. She and her family took excellent care of Hank and sent me several pictures and updates through out. 10/10. Very happy to have found someone trust worthy i can leave my dog with and have no worries without feeling like i am burdening friends or family.”

“Wendy was great! I needed a dog sitter at the last minute and came across her profile. I loved that she was so close to my home, and she made the entire experience stress-free. During my dog's stay, I received nightly text updates along with photos and videos, which I really appreciated. This was the first time I'd traveled over 13 hours away from my sweet girl, so I was super nervous. After the first day went so well, all my worries disappeared, and I was able to fully enjoy my trip knowing she was in great hands. I will definitely book with Wendy again and maybe next time she'll even get to meet my kitty too!”

“Great stay with fantastic photos/videos, playmates, and I can tell just how well Jenn and Inam care for all of the pups... definitely looking forward to future stays!”

“I have been using rover for 4 years now and Amy has been the best petson to take care of my dog "Johnny" so far. She is Highly Recommended and will be using her to take care of my Dog moving forward. The pictures she sent us we awesome and it really looked like my dog was living his best life lol. You will not be disappointed.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
