About: Dogs bring such joy! I believe they are gifts and we are lucky to have them in our lives. We currently have a spoiled Australian Shepherd. I have learned so much as an Aussie mom, and love sharing helpful info with other dog parents, especially if they have a herding breed. I love all dogs, no exceptions! They deserve to be spoiled and appreciated for who they are. I offer pet care in your home, where your pet is most comfortable. I also have my own pet care insurance, and am pet CPR and First Aid certified. I work full time in the upper valley and have a flexible schedule that allows me to work from home several days a week. If you have WiFi, I’m happy to work from your home to accommodate full-time snuggles and care for your pet while you’re away! I believe that dogs are part of the family. I keep a clean and tidy space and always clean before I leave. I will cover all aspects of standard pet care and basic home upkeep. I am currently a full-time college student. I have a fair amount of flexibility in terms of time and location. I also drive a reliable vehicle. Available for house-sitting/pet-sitting. About: If my rates are an obstacle in caring for your pet then I’m happy to provide a sliding scale and have a discussion upon request. Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. I am currently a *human* nurse and making time for animals because that is where I feel I really come alive. :) I believe that animals are part of the family and I will treat them like so. I have basic experience with dog training and I personally believe that dogs thrive in structured and predictable environments. I love exercising and having fun with dogs, too! I have availability to help you with your pup or cat! Depending on the health of your pet I will socialize and exercise your pet's body and mind and of course offer any snuggles that are welcomed.
