“This wonderful young couple has kept our senior cat twice now and we won’t ever use anyone else. I initially feared leaving her with anyone but we had to attend my Mom’s funeral and couldn’t bring her with us. Durga is Very shy and hides whenever we have company, and wants nothing to do with other animals. But somehow Chelsea coaxes her to sit with and even On her. And to coexist comfortably with their cats. Unbelievable and honestly I did not believe it was possible. I don’t know how they do it, some kinda Love magic apparently. ☺️ We are sent photos of our Durga while we’re away and, she’s even been groomed. These people are Amazing. I Highly, Highly recommend Chelsea and Derek. Look no further if you require a safe and loving temporary home for your pet.”

“Joan and Tim have taken excellent care of our Boxweiler, Mamas, several times. They have excellent communication and send cute pics! We never have any concerns or worries when she is with them. We can't say enough good things!”

“Mickey was great. She made Beasley feel very comfortable and treated him like one of the family. She even bought him a sweater that she let us keep while we were gone because it got very cold out. He not only loved her but he also made a couple new friends at her house. Sunny and Sylvester were great companions for him during his stay. We will definitely be calling Mickey for future travels when Beasley needs a place to stay.”

“Kelly was great with our dog Bear! She was communicative throughout the whole process and put our minds at ease while we were away by sending pictures and video. Her dog was an added bonus since Bear doesn’t get too much exposure to friends. Would book again in a heartbeat!”

“Jin, was very friendly and very communicative. She treated my baby girl like her own. She took my booking at the last minute, I thank her for that. Highly recommended!”

“Dana kept me updated daily with pictures and what they did for the day. Bella really enjoyed herself. She usually doesn't eat when we are away but she felt comfortable in their home. I am so grateful to have found them! I will definitely be using them for future trip knowing that my baby will be taken care of and loved like it was me. Thank you guys for everything!!”

“Jenn and Brian were outstanding hosts for Cooper. Not only were they flexible with our times and willing to work with us, but they clearly understand dogs, owning their own dogs and having fostered dogs in the past. Jenn kept me posted on his activities and energy level, and clearly she wore him out as he's been sleeping since the moment we put him in the car 4.5 hours ago. Playing in their backyard and with their pups certainly wore our energetic 2 year old out. We highly recommend Jenn and Brian for their care with your dog.”

“Lindsey has watched my dog a couple of times and is wonderful. Recently she accommodated a very last minute stay which I’m so grateful for. Lots of walks and attention for my dog. Highly recommend!”

“Jackie made it possible to leave on a 2 week vacation. All 3 of our dogs were well taken care of. Jackie did everything we asked. We will definitely ask Jackie to take care of our family again. Thank you”

“Denae & Mark provided a second home for my dog, who emerged from their care happier and healthier than when he started. They stayed in regular contact to ease my mind, and I highly trust their capabilities in caring for canines.”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“Our dog, Millie, seemed like she had a great time with Megan and her kids! Megan was friendly and very communicative the whole time. We received lots of picture, video, and text updates. We would definitely use her again!”

“Kiara & Yves are genuinely such fantastic pet sitters, and kept my mind at ease during travel knowing that my cat was in such good hands! Not only were they very kind and pleasant to talk to, but Kiara was very knowledgeable about animals in general and shared some useful information. They were very diligent in making sure my kitty was being cared for properly, along with sending updates and pictures. From medication, to going out of their way to buy specific kibble that my cat was used to after not adjusting, you can be assured that your pet will be watched by responsible, enthusiastic, and caring folks.”

“So glad to have this beautiful family watch Dax for us! He was well loved and taken care of!! We received many photos and had great communication during his visit! We will definitely be using them in the future!!”

“Danielle was awesome! Gus had an amazing time and was so tuckered out when he got home yesterday which tells me he was well cared for and played a lot. She was very responsive and provided great updates daily.”

“Sierra was absolutely amazing! It was my first time leaving my dog with someone new for the weekend and my dog adjusted so well and Sierra sent a bunch of pictures and updates! Would definitely book with her in the future”

“No non-sense pet sitting. My dog was very well taken care of, got to play with other dogs and run around the yard. I got updates, pictures, and videos on a regular basis. Would highly recommend!”

“Kona had a great stay at Shannon and David’s! They were welcoming and warm which made Kona very comfortable. Pictures were so cute. He loved the long walks too! We were able to have a great weekend in Ellicottville with no worries. I highly recommend them and would absolutely have Kona stay on our next visit!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - South Wales
Mickey takes great care to ensure that our dog is at ease in her home and always take great care of her. Fiona loves to play in her enclosed yard and Mickey takes her for frequent walks in her quiet neighborhood. Mickey truly loves taking care of Fiona, and that puts our minds at ease while we travel.

Mickey is a gem - a true animal lover. She immediately put Charlie at ease and gave her cuddles when she needed them and space when she wanted it. I so appreciated the updates and photos, especially as I went out of town right after dropping Charlie with her for the first time. Definitely hire Mickey!

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
