“Joan and Timothy were so amazing with our son! We were gone almost a full week for our wedding and it was such a blessing that we found them. It was clear from the moment we first met them that they were very experienced in dog sitting and their home was perfectly equipped and spacious for our boy. They made sure to walk through his entire daily routine with us when dropping him off and they provided us with daily updates, pictures and videos on how he was doing. He came back to us a smiling and happy pup. Would absolutely book with them again - thank you so much Joan & Timothy!!!”

“Chelsea and Derek were the perfect people to care for our Veralynn. We were so at ease on our trip knowing she was with great people. They are super nice and they care for your pet as if it is their own. We would absolutely recommend them and will definitely book with them next time we are going out of town.”

“We had a wonderful experience with this couple watching our dog, Roxie! They were kind, caring, and made us feel completely comfortable leaving her in their care. They kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was obvious that Roxie was happy, relaxed, and well loved while she was there. Roxie can be a little cautious in new situations, and they were so patient and gentle with her. It meant a lot to know she was in such good hands. We came home to a content, well-cared-for dog, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and attentive pet sitters”

“As all true dog lovers know, a dog is not just a pet, it is a member of the family. As such, I am very cautious about where and who I leave my dog with. As we had never had to leave our Violet with anyone, my wife and I were very worried when we had to leave our girl for almost 2 weeks. We did not feel comfortable boarding her at a kennel as we didn’t think she would respond well to that environment. So, we went to Rover to see if we could find someone we thought would be a good fit for our Violet. After reading multiple write ups on various Rover sitters, we found Erika who we thought looked like a good fit and was close to our home. At our meet and greet with Erika, my wife and I had perfect peace as we met with Erika and saw the home where Violet would be staying. Erika had a warm and inviting home, a fenced in backyard, and the perfect playmate, ( her dog Huxley) for our girl Violet. My wife and I decided immediately that this home and sitter would be the perfect fit for Violet. We were not disappointed! Erika loved our Violet as much as she loved her own dog and showered her with love and affection. She sent us daily pictures and videos of Violet and her dog playing, napping, and just having a wonderful time. She was having so much fun. We jokingly, worried that Violet wouldn’t want to come home with us after spending time with Erika. Ha Ha. In summary, any dog would be lucky to spend time with Erika. She is an amazing person and we were so happy we found her. This app only let me put in a rating of 5 stars, but if I could have, I would have put in 10 or more stars in rating her performance. We would definitely use Erika again in the future, if and when we needed to board our Violet. My only worry is that after reading my review of Erika, everyone will want to board with her and I won’t be able to have my Violet stay with her when I next need her. Ha ha.”

“Kelly was absolutely amazing. We needed a dog sitter in a pinch, last minute. She met our dogs next day, then the day after we dropped them off. One of my girls has major anxiety amd super hyperactive. She took them for walks amd sent us pictures. Couldn't believe they were the same dogs! Highly recommend...”

“Jenn and Brian were able to watch our dog for 5 days while we were away. We received lots of pictures/updates throughout that time and it was clear that our pup was having a great time and was very happy! Highly recommend!”

“Katie was an excellent sitter for our dog Louie, while we were on a long vacation! This is the first time using Rover, as well as having someone outside of our family, watching our pet and it was an excellent experience! She sent daily updates and pictures which helped in dealing with the separation anxiety! Recommend highly and will use again!”

“We were very happy with Denae and Mark taking care of our dog Daisy. We received pictures and updates every day letting us know how Daisy was doing. Daisy seemed to settle in quickly and was able to relax on the couch and sleep in bed. She was taken on walks. Denae and Mark have a very nice home and really love dogs! Would definitely recommend and we would use them again!”

“Jackie made it possible to leave on a 2 week vacation. All 3 of our dogs were well taken care of. Jackie did everything we asked. We will definitely ask Jackie to take care of our family again. Thank you”

“We were traveling out of the state and needed someone to take care of our 2 dogs while away. Just a quick weekend trip. I'll just say Monica is truly amazing. She took very good care of them. Playing and lots of cuddles. She sent daily updates with pictures and was so attentive to them. Always mentioned how they were doing and eating. I will definitely keep her as my repeat for any future vacations or quick getaways. Thank you again Monica!!”

“At first I was skeptical about using Rover to find someone to care for my German Shepherd that I just adopted and because of moving reasons I needed a place for him to be until my place was ready. I came across Jin, and she was immediately available, and I couldn't be more lucky to have found such an amazing human been, she took care of my Tony so good, with constant pictures and follow ups about his activities. I will only use her services to care for my dog. She us the best. Thank you so much for taking care my big baby tony.??”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“Mindy was very sweet to our Luna! She took time to have a Meet & Greet beforehand, to make sure our pup was comfortable and that it was a good fit. She provided copious updates -- photos and videos -- and was very quick to respond when we reached out to see how things were going. Luna came home pleasantly tired *and* having made a few friends in Mindy's kitties! :) Thank you Mindy!!!”

“It was the 1st time, and I'm very happy with Leah. When I was dropping off my dog, I knew that my dog would love her. Leah kept giving me updates constantly. I definitely trust Leah with my dog and will rebook with her again.”

“Sierra is an awesome sitter!! My Bentley loves her and she takes really good care of him when she has him, and he is always happy when she sends me pictures of him. I would recommend her to anyone😊”

“Karen was outstanding from our first communication. Our Frenchy thinks she’s royalty and Karen took care of her like a Princess. Meds, food, walks - Karen also shared many Photos and several daily updates of their days together. If you need a reference for Karen, you can contact me anytime - I’ll give her a glowing review.”

“I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it was to have Bev. She was watching my dog during this last snow event and not only did she reassure me because I couldn’t get back in time (plane cancelled) that she would gladly keep her as long as needed she went to the store and bought more of her dog food as I didn’t send enough. I couldn’t ask for anything more. It certainly made me feel great that my dogs care was one less thing I had to worry about. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars.”

“Kiara & Yves are genuinely such fantastic pet sitters, and kept my mind at ease during travel knowing that my cat was in such good hands! Not only were they very kind and pleasant to talk to, but Kiara was very knowledgeable about animals in general and shared some useful information. They were very diligent in making sure my kitty was being cared for properly, along with sending updates and pictures. From medication, to going out of their way to buy specific kibble that my cat was used to after not adjusting, you can be assured that your pet will be watched by responsible, enthusiastic, and caring folks.”

“Rizzo had a better vacation than we did staying with Lindsey! She had so much fun playing at the farm running around with Genny and getting lots of exercise! Lindsey provided daily updates with photo’s throughout the week showing how much fun they were having. Rizzo can’t wait for her next vacation with Lindsey and her family!”

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
