“I’m so grateful for Caitlen! She’s a wonderful pet sitter and took excellent care of Stella. She kept me updated with pictures and information about Stella’s day. I was nervous about going away for a week, but as soon as I met Caitlen I knew Stella would be well taken care of. I came home to a spotless house, a bonus! My husband and I can’t wait to book Caitlen again! Thank you, Caitlen!”
About: Hi! I’m a caring, responsible, and dependable dog lover who understands that every pup has their own personality, routine, and needs. I love getting outside, staying active, and making sure dogs get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while their humans are away. Whether your dog needs a leisurely stroll, an energetic walk, or simply some extra companionship, I’ll treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’m also happy to follow your pet’s usual routine and any special instructions you provide. I have foster dogs for the last two years. I am currently fostering my 7th dog, I have owned dogs my whole life and my dream is to open my own sanctuary one day. I’ve fostered small dogs And big dogs, i’ve potty trained, crate trained, and house trained every single one of my Foster’s. I have experience with fear based, anxious and reactive dogs. I spend my free time volunteering at the shelter to help walking & socializing the dogs. My dogs are my children, and they are so spoiled beyond belief. I’m currently working part time so I’m pretty much home all day dedicating my time to my fur babies, making sure they get plenty of mental and physical exercise. I’m big on mental enrichment/stimulation and excersise. I will make sure your dog is taking good care of! I love to play ball/fetch with my dogs, I play a lot of puzzle games, I take them for a run or car ride to sniff & tire themselves out.
About: I have never not had a dog as far back as I can remember. I love being around them. From puppies to senior dogs also. As of Dec. 27th I will be working full time, however I can still do walks, drop ins and overnight stays. I can still do morning walks and evening walks. Can walk dogs from a small walk to up to several miles if needed, on a hike and just play ball if needed. I currently do not have a yard to be able to have a dog at my home. Hope to change that in the future as needed
“Meghan was super flexible and provided great updates and photos. She was absolutely wonderful with my pup who takes a bit to warm up to new people. Kiki loved her and we will definitely book again!”

“Sarah did a great job with our dogs and was more attentive to them than we could have asked for. During a time when they could have been stressed out our dogs looked happy and active the whole time we were away because they adored Sarah.”

“Mae is awesome!! We were scrambling to find someone to watch our two 1yr old cats a few days before leaving and Mae was kind enough to help us out last minute. I can tell Mae truly understands the nature of cats and all the quirks that come with them. She really does a great job of catering to their unique personalities. My one cat is usually extremely shy with strangers but seemed to warm up to Mae quicker than with most people. Mae left everything very clean and sent a bunch of cute photos of the kitties. She even printed some physical copies of the photos for us! Thanks for everything!! <3”

“I would leave more stars if I could. Our trip was enjoyed more because Sterlin is professional, caring and most importantly loving to our Cavilier. We left Sugar in great hands!!!!”

I take my dogs on walks daily, and I also have a fenced yard that I watch my dogs play in. I’m very very versatile!

I ensure all pets needs are met whether it be making sure they are taking a specific medication or something as simple as making sure to take them out every couple of hours. I want to make sure that any pet in my care is being well taken care of.
About: After adopting our family rescue dog at a young age, I grew up learning how to care and tend to a dog. Though my dog is smaller, I have grown up around all different animals and dog sizes. I love to walk and play all different breeds of dogs:) I am currently a college student who is home for the summer. I work at a restaurant during the night but am interesting in caring for dogs during the week day. I prefer to care for dogs in the clients home and am very flexible with the needs of the client. I am very respectful of the clients space and will follow any instructions provided.

Cats have a special place in my heart, and I have special skills in caring for elderly kitties. I am looking for a part-time commitment, as I am a full-time student. This being said, I have a pretty flexible schedule. Please see all my availability's before booking. Even if it says unavailable, reach out! The schedule may have changed :) I am willing to do anything to keep my furry clients happy, within reason. This includes walks, baths, potty breaks, cleaning, feeding, training, and house-sitting.
“Teddy took good care of our girls while we were out of town and was easy-going and so helpful. We could not have hoped for a better experience and are so grateful for all she did.”

“Jules was excellent with Jaxson! She came over for a meet and greet before her overnight stay to get acclimated with Jaxson and my place. She was great at giving updates and checking in. I felt good knowing Jaxson was with someone caring and loving.”

About: Been around animals all my life, they care and love i have and the joy it brings is out of this world. Also as i help care for my grandmom and she has had pets growing up. I know it will bring her joy and will take up her time as she sits in the house, if we dont go out for the day. As i work on the week days, i am availble (if nothing pops up) on the weekends, like a friday night untill sunday night if that will work for anybody. And also i do work in the school system so having weeks off for or a couple days off can change my schedule but for now, weekends are best. If pets need care i am here to learn and help, i do offer a yard (sadly is not fenced) but if on a leash your pet will be taken very care of and we be shown love and care.
About: I've raised dogs my entire life! Over the last 5 years, I've started house sitting for family friends for upwards of 3-4 weeks at a time, adding cats, bunnies, and birds to the rotation. Currently until the end of June, I will be working about 4 days a week as a substitute teacher. I'm usually out of the house by 6:30a and home around 3:15p. If it's a day where I don't have a job scheduled, then I'm free :) I am very adaptable, reliable, clean and thoughtful when it comes to caring for clients animals, especially in their homes. I will be cognizant of whatever rules and guidelines you lay out for me to make sure your animal is getting the best care!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Somers Point
Caitlen was amazing! She watched our 8 month puppy and a friend’s senior dog 2 days in a row. Our puppy has separation issues but Caitlen’s calming presence lessened her anxiety. She checked in with us a few times and sent pictures. I highly recommend Caitlen and would definitely use her again. Thanks Caitlen!

Owen saved us in a pinch after a sitter from another app canceled late night after I already left town. He went above and beyond to make sure Scrappy maintained his regular schedule and communicated consistently with updates so that I was never had to worry about Scrappy while I was gone. He’s dependable and attentive to following detailed instructions, highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Somers Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Somers Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Somers Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Somers Point. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
