“Ella was absolutely amazing with our puppy, Brody:). She was super accommodating and cared for him like he was her puppy...she even purchased him toys! Ella is very responsible and loves animals dearly. We will be using Ella again for sure:). You will be so happy if you ever decide to leave your furry family members with Ella. Thank you so much:).”

About: I have never not had a dog as far back as I can remember. I love being around them. From puppies to senior dogs also. As of Dec. 27th I will be working full time, however I can still do walks, drop ins and overnight stays. I can still do morning walks and evening walks. Can walk dogs from a small walk to up to several miles if needed, on a hike and just play ball if needed. I currently do not have a yard to be able to have a dog at my home. Hope to change that in the future as needed
“Naomi was the perfect sitter for our big boy, Duce. He is a 135lb. Great Dane and can be a little crazy when playing, but she handled him like a champ and accommodated his needs very well. Naomi's daily updates with pictures and videos gave us peace of mind knowing he was happy and going about his day comfortably at home. Naomi was super responsive to our initial inquiries and check ins and we felt confident that Duce was in very good hands. We will definitely use her again!”

“Mae is the best!!! I can’t say enough good things. She took such good care of our dog, 2 cats, and 2 turtles. She even watered our plants and took in our mail. She sent daily updates and we felt so secure on our trip knowing Mae was looking after all our pets. We recommend her so highly and hope she will house/pet sit for us again in the future!!”

“I would leave more stars if I could. Our trip was enjoyed more because Sterlin is professional, caring and most importantly loving to our Cavilier. We left Sugar in great hands!!!!”

“Meghan was super flexible and provided great updates and photos. She was absolutely wonderful with my pup who takes a bit to warm up to new people. Kiki loved her and we will definitely book again!”

“Keira was awesome with the "zoo" at my house. She was very conscientious and connected right away with all my pets. She kept me very well updated on how everyone was doing and was very flexible and easy to work with. I felt at peace knowing my pets were in good hands while I was away. Would recommend her as an A++ pet sitter!”

About: Volunteered at a dog shelter (Rylies rescue) and for an organization called pawsibilities housing up to 50+ cats plus animals like farm animals, birds, and everything in between, so I’m very familiar with all sorts of animals and temperaments. Worked with 30+ cats in one space and familiar with administering medication. I’m in ocean city full time for the summer, and I have a very flexible schedule so I can provide care throughout the day whenever needed. I go on walks daily so dog walking fits into my routine. I’m also willing to travel between shore points to make sure your pet gets the care they need! I take care of my special needs dog, Wyatt, often. I feed, walk, and bathe him, and administer his meds whenever needed. All of which I am willing to do for your pets!

About: I believe animals should receive love, attention, and care the same as humans do. I’ve been surrounded by animals almost my entire life and i’ve learned to care for an animals in many ways. From nail clippings, vet visits, nap sessions and quality time, and even trying a new snack to cure their craving. I am a first responder so dealing with animals is something I handle daily! Every encounter is different but I intend on getting the animal home safe to their family and owner! Animals are family so their deserve the best care at all times! I am a police officer and I work 4 days (2 days 6am-6pm/ 2 nights 6pm-6am), then i’m off for 4 days. My schedule rotates but I have so much time on my hands. I don’t find it any better to spend my down time with animals which I enjoy, and helping out someone who needs it! I have a 4 year old Maltese and a 10 year old cat. I allow my animals to walk around freely because they’re both potty trained, and get along very well. I allow my dog to eat at certain times due to him not eating too much and gaining a lot since he’s a smaller dog. I allow my cat to eat whenever he likes. I take my dog out 3-4 times out a day, sometimes more whenever I see him standing but the door. I give my dog 1 treat per day and i bathe him every 2 weeks. My dog gets groomed every month depending on the season and if I want his fur to grow out. What I offer is dog walks, stop ins, dog sitting over night or during the day with whatever aligns with my schedule.
“Cassie was wonderful with our kiddos! She stayed at our house with our 6 dogs, yes 6! and sent us several pictures and updates while we were away. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend her, she was the best!”

“This was my first experience using a pet sitter I didn’t know personally. Dean made me feel very at ease leaving Dunk in his care. He texted me during the stay and sent the best pictures. And in addition he cleaned up the house before he left! Definitely someone to be recommended.”

“Kimberly was amazing! I am so beyond happy that we found her!! My dogs are my babies and she treated them as her own! She sent pictures daily and even FaceTimed us when we were missing them so much! I was extremely comfortable with Kimberly being in my home for the week. Stop scrolling and book Kimberly now!”

“Sade was great as usual, this was the 3rd time we’d working with her and our dogs were so happy to see her again. The dogs were getting used to a new schedule and she took it in stride without any issue. Sade is always very easy to work with and communicates just the right amount with us!”
About: I’ve watched multiple dogs at once all my life, making sure they get all the attention and love they need. I also love to just walk around so your babies will get the exercise they need. I’m free most hours Sunday through Thursday. Saturday and Friday get a little iffy but I’m sure I can work stuff out. I work part time so most of my day would be spent caring for your dogs. I will play with your dog walk them as long as they need. I’ll let them out and make sure they are as safe as they can be.
“Ashiera was great house sitting for us and took great care of both of our Huskies. They seemed very comfortable & happy with her here. Will definitely use her again if/when we need them cared for again. Thanks Ashiera!”

“Elizabeth is great! We have two needy pets, including an old, anxious dog with mobility issues and other special needs. Elizabeth was perfect with administering medications and and keeping up with regular physical therapy exercises. We came home to a clean house and two well cared for (though possibly disappointed Elizabeth was gone) pets. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth if you need someone to watch pets in your home.”

CeeCee was the most caring and incredible dog sitter. Our Cavapoo usually doesn’t get too comfortable in someone’s home but within 10 minutes she warmed up to CeeCee and was her happy go lucky self around her home. She sent pics and updates and paid so much special attention to our pup. I’m only sad, that she doesn’t live closer to my town to make her our regular sitter. 10 out of 10 review !! I’d 100 percent recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jared is phenomenal. He’s responsible, timely, caring and very serious in his approach to watching your pets. We have three dogs that he took care of in our home for ten days recently. The dogs loved him and he loved them back. We will always use Jared in any future situation for which we need Rover services or any pet services. Thank u so much Jared!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Northfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Northfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Northfield. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
