About: Hi! I go by Selena, and I’m a medical student who genuinely loves animals. I’ll care for your pet like my own and always provide reliable, attentive care. I’ll also keep you updated periodically with messages and pics! (: I offer dog walks and drop-in visits before or after class and on weekends. I’ll make sure your pet gets the exercise, attention, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow their routine carefully and send updates with photos after every visit so you always know how they’re doing.
“Sarah was amazing with our three pups, one of those with special needs. She cared for them like they were her own while we were away and coming home to a clean home with happy pups was beyond measure. Sarah kept us updated throughout our time away with photos from her visits- which we really appreciated! Highly recommend Sarah if you are in search for dog care in your home!”

“Hailey was great with Sylvie, who is large and can be intimidating for some! She was so positive and excited at every moment. Communication was great and we would happy to book with her again! Thanks so much Hailey!”

“Abby was absolutely wonderful! I was in a pinch and needed someone to come over and check on my dog the same day. I blindly reached out to her, she responded quickly and was able to make it happen! We then had her come check on our dog the following 2 days as well. She let me know when she was on her way and gave me thorough updates throughout. I’ll absolutely be using her again and if highly recommend her!”

About: I have recently been learning different breeds while fostering. It has given me insight to which ones like what and what their needs are on a daily. I work from home so I have some flexibility in my schedule to do stuff throughout the day. I enjoy being able to help animals. I have been fostering on a regular the past year. I enjoy caring for and having the dogs around to keep me company too. They are fun getting to learn the different breeds.
“Gia was well cared for! Barbara provided pictures each day and Gia seemed to like her a lot. All instructions were followed perfectly as well. Would definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes. I am available for all your walking and dog-sitting needs. Whether it’s house sitting, walking/feeding the dog, letting him/her out to play, I look forward to caring for your pup! I’m a 3rd grade teacher with availability after school hours as well as weekends and holiday breaks! I am free to drop by on the weekdays or provide more in depth help on weekends and other days off. Trust is huge when it comes to your pet and I am flexible to support all needs with your dog while you are away/busy. You can trust that your dog is in good hands with me! I am good at following directions and will be able to keep up with normal routines and procedures that your dog is used to so that you are comfortable as well as them.
About: I’ve pet sat for a couple years now, my most regular customer has multiple dogs, one cat, four birds, and a ton of snakes, so I’m well equipped to watch a variety of animals! Throughout my life I’ve had multiple dogs, all different breeds, German shepherds, shih tzu’s, Boston terriers, and more, so in my opinion there’s no animal too big or too small that I can’t befriend! I’m a college student but my schedule is pretty flexible outside of classes, though during school breaks I’m completely free and I do own a car so I can travel a good distance to wherever your home resides! I will not be caring for pets in my own home, but when I’m caring in your home I’m more then happy to accommodate for whatever your pet needs, such as using a leash to go potty, or getting them to take pills if need be!
About: I have rescued several animals over the last two decades. All of them have led happy lives from the moment I scooped them up from their shelter and into a loving home, to the time they passed. My family now includes two lovable, dorky, fur babies that own me. Simon is a friendly, rescued tabby cat and Lucy is a family-inherited mini dachshund dog. Both of my pets get along with other animals without any issues. Me and my husband share the duty of walking, playing, drop-offs and pick-ups. There is ALWAYS someone home when I sit. That makes it safer for everyone, especially the animals I care for. I have a fenced-in backyard for roaming and releasing energy (if the personality permits) but I also take the pups out and about as well for variation and exploration.
About: I'm dedicated to providing top-notch care for your beloved pets. With years of experience, I offer reliable pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits tailored to your furry friend's needs. Whether it's cuddle time, play sessions, or simply ensuring they're fed and watered, your pet's well-being is my priority. Rest assured, I'm committed to maintaining their routine and providing companionship and affection while you're away. My schedule can easily accommodate the needs and preferences of your pup, as I am home full time. I can provide frequent potty breaks and walks for your fur baby, as needed. We have a fenced in backyard with plenty of space for your dogs to play and run. When walking dogs, I use a standard leash, in addition to a hands-free waist leash, to ensure your pup stays safe.
“Alyssa was so wonderful with our puppy! He warmed to her right away! She kept us updated while she was there and was just a joy to interact with. Definitely recommend! :)”

“Eileen was amazing from start to finish. She came over to meet our cat before we booked her. Our kitty is special needs and needs a lot of extra help. Eileen took great care of him and handled the challenges so well! She communicated regularly and was very responsive. We highly recommend her for your cats!”

“Briana is literally the best cat sitter! She’s extremely kind, detailed, and reliable. You can tell she truly loves the pets she is helping to care for. We so appreciate her as a person!”
About: I've had 3 dogs in my life and when I was old enough I trained 2 of them with basic commands. I usually help my aunt with watching her dog which includes bathroom breaks, staying over night, and hanging out with him during the day. I've also watched him after he had surgery to make sure he didn't mess with the wound. I'm a part time college student and I work during the weekend. I'm mostly free during the week after 11 on Mondays and Wednesdays and 1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some Fridays I'm free before 1. I have a fenced yard and a pool with a small dog who loves running around and swimming(our big one passed recently), I give my dog baths, I take her for walks, play with her, feed her, clean her space. When I watch others pets I make sure to clean up if they make a mess, that they go potty before I leave and have a full bowl of food and water depending on how long they will be alone for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Somerdale
I have never had a stranger take care of my dogs, so I was apprehensive about how my dogs would be with Julia. Well, I can honestly say that Julia was wonderful!! My dogs love her! She was very communicative, and sent me multiple pictures daily. I will definitely use Julia in the future.
We hired Brynn to come into our home to feed and walk our older dog when we went away overnight. She did an excellent job and sent us texts and photos each time. Our pup was in good spirits when we returned. I would definitely have her come again and recommend her highly.
We had such an amazing experience with Samantha, and we truly couldn’t recommend her more! Not only did she make sure our cats were happy, well-fed, and loved, but she also watered our plants! 🪴 She always included the cutest pictures in her updates which always made us smile! We even came home to printed photos of our cats along with a kind note—it was such a thoughtful and personal gesture that meant a lot to us! 🥹 If you’re looking for someone reliable, attentive, and truly kind, she is absolutely the best. 🙂

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
