About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my comprehensive experience and dedication to personalized pet care. Growing up surrounded by a variety of animals and living next to a farm provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in animal care from a young age. My commitment to ensuring each dog feels safe, loved, and engaged during their time with me makes my services exceptional. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and deeply passionate about the well-being of every pet I care for. I do work full time but on days I do work, I will be able to provide walks in the morning and in the early evening! I would love to work out a schedule that works best for you and your pet ! I recently moved to truckee and live very close to hiking and walking trails where I would be able to walk your pet. My house has a spacious, fenced in front yard where your pet could play!
About: I have a lot of experience caring for dogs and cats and truly love any time I get to spend around furry friends. Whether it’s going on walks, drop-in visits, or just giving your pet some extra attention and care while you’re away, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I have very flexible availability and do my best to work around your schedule and your pet’s needs. I’m reliable, attentive, and happy to provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. I’m also happy to provide references or reviews from past pet owners upon request. I have a pretty flexible schedule and have a lot of time to take care of your pets even if it’s at the last minute. I am used to many different pets and let them approach me. I can walk them, give them the care they need and put them back in their crate.

Just let me know and I will provide.
About: Hi, I’m Monica, a Truckee local, animal lover, and pet owner with two cats and a dog of my own. A huge reason why I was interested in doing this is because I know firsthand how hard it can be to find a trustworthy and reliable pet sitter in Tahoe. Leaving your animals with someone else can be stressful, and I want people to feel confident that their pets are genuinely cared for while they’re away. I live an active mountain lifestyle and am great with dogs that love getting outside, but equally happy caring for shy cats, senior pets, or animals that just need calm companionship and consistency. I’ve also spent time involved in ski patrol and search and rescue environments, which I think speaks to the kind of person I am, responsible, calm under pressure, attentive, and safety-oriented. I promise to care for your animals the same way I’d want someone caring for mine ❤️ I work remotely running my own accounting business, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be very present and attentive with the animals I care for. I’m detail-oriented, communicative, and reliable, and I’ll always treat your pets and home with respect. I prioritize your pet's well being, adhering to routines and ensuring a clean environment. Trust is so important; I maintain your pet's space meticulously, respecting privacy, and providing attentive, reliable care.
About: I grew up in the country with all kinds of animals. Dogs have always been my heart. From horses to hamsters - I enjoy them all. I work full time, remotely, but will work with you to create a schedule for your doggie that ensures they get the fresh air and adventure they deserve. I have 2 dogs (doodle and morkie) and they enjoy walks twice a day. I love the joy they experience exploring the mountains. I look forward to doing the same for your family members.
About: I love animals and started dog care for a family in high school. I’m a runner so I ran with the large dogs and learned to adjust walks to the dogs. I don’t have a dog of my own so i love caring for other people’s dogs. I’m a student at Chico State, but I’m available to dog walk on Thursday’s and weekends. I’m available for house sitting every day of the week :) Any dog I am sitting will enjoy either a leisurely stroll or a run depending on the dog. I love both dogs and cats (and all other animals) so I will shower your fur babies with love.

“Lindi was awesome. Highly recommended. Punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. She was flexible with changing booking times at the last minute which was great. She was mindful of locking all the door locks behind her which I thought was a nice touch. Although my poor, scared rescue always hid, Lindi tried her best to coax her but to no avail. Lindi sent me pictures of her hiding in the corner and it would make me giggle. Will hire Lindi again once my rescue gets more confident. THANK YOU, Lindi!”

About: My family has had labs my whole life! I've watched countless breeds in other people's homes and in my own. I'd love to take them to the beach or on a trail! I pay all of my attention to your pups or cats! I'll take them on long walks or even hikes. I can feed them while you're gone and give them any medications needed. I'm an electrician in truckee and I usually work Monday through Thursday from 8 to 5. I'm typically free on weekends and evenings and I'd love to help your animals feel comfortable! I can stay at your home or offer drop in visits! I can take your dogs on walks or hikes and I can make sure they're fed on time! I'll hang out with them at your home so they're not alone while you're gone!
“Evan did a great job with our dog. He took him on a walk and gave him lots of attention during play time. He sent great update photos and made sure he had water and food. Would highly recommend!”

About: Since high school I have had experience with normal pets to the exotic! I can honestly say that each animal is an individual that deserves their specific needs acknowledged and met. I do have experience with senior animals that need medication as well as special needs, there hasn’t been an experience that I haven’t learned from! I’ve even read books like Caesar’s Way in order to better understand my own pets and help them. I’ve even been known to be a bit of a perfectionist although that was in my earlier years now I can gladly say am a seasoned sitter! Please feel free to reach out to me before booking my care and I will answer any and all questions! Caring for your family member fits into my routine because at the moment I am a dog Mom of one dachshund with a good partner that loves her as much as I do! I also do volunteer work, which is extremely flexible. Aside from that a lot of what I do is online, which works out great when pet care is involved I will care for your family member by noting all of their needs as well as asking any questions I have about the environment if it was not already covered in our introduction. I like to take notes!
“Malia was great to work with. She had great communication. Did a good job confirming times and clarifying what we were comfortable with. She picked up my Aussie mix and took her on a pack walk with a couple of other dogs on a nice long hike in Tahoe while we skied. We will definitely be booking her again!”

About: Hi there, I’m Olivia and can’t wait to meet your fur family! My parents had a sweet spot for rescues and adopted dogs from shelters throughout my childhood. I have experience caring for a variety of breeds/sizes, ages, personalities, and levels of health. Over the past 15 years I have also sat for family, friends, and neighbors. They will be leashed for potty breaks if there isn’t a fenced yard at home and on walks, especially while exploring busy trails and beaches.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
