About: ~Cat Boarding Available~ Hi there! If you’re looking for an experienced and active sitter who will shower your pets with love while keeping them safe and happy, I would love to meet you! I’ve spent plenty of time around all types of dogs, including big, strong breeds, so I am very comfortable managing canine energy and practicing good boundaries. To make sure our outdoor adventures are as safe as they are fun, I focus my walks on small and medium dogs, or larger pups who are already pretty calm and collected on the leash. I happily offer dedicated home care with a touch of gentleness. I follow your pet’s normal routines and any pet care instructions you give. I enjoy providing comfort and a peaceful environment for all pets. I am also a cat mom of 4 and absolutely love all types of cats, so I am always happy to help with kitty drop-ins, feedings, and playtime too. I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies! I currently have a flexible schedule. Whether your pup or kitten needs a last-minute check-in, a mid-day walk or your pet requires strict, timely medication schedules, I am around to help. When I am in your home, safety and respect for your space are my priorities. I treat your home with care, ensuring doors are securely locked, gates are latched, and your home is left exactly as I found it. I can follow strict instructions to ensure that your pet’s needs are met. I also love sending many photos on updates with every visit, so you have total peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

“Daniella did a pretty good job during her 3 day stay. She took care of Mochi, Buddy and Zoey and treated our dogs like her own. She also followed all instructions on feeding time, taking our dogs in the backyard and taking the time to spend time with them. I was also impressed when she also cleaned our kitchen counter tops, wiping down the cabinet doors and she even swept/ mop the floor and threw the garbage. That's what you call going up and beyond her job duties! We ask her to just take care or our dogs and she did more than that. I would highly recommend her to our family and friends! We also going to book her this coming December because we know we can count on her.”

About: I absolutely love animals and will treat your babies like my own while you’re away. I have experience with senior, special-needs, and anxious pets, so unusual routines, extra patience, or a little extra care don’t scare me! My biggest goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re gone and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re doing great. Also, I’m a chronic photo taker, so expect lots of cute updates of your baby! Pet care fits easily into my routine! I work from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, so early morning walks and potty breaks are always welcome (they honestly bring me joy). Outside of work, I’m happy to check in as often as your pet needs. Need a late-night or even 2 AM potty break? I got you! Weekends are even better because I’m available all day to give your babies plenty of attention, walks, and love. I care for every pet based on their normal routine and individual needs. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and anything else that makes them comfortable. I’m very patient with anxious, senior, and special needs pets, and I’ll never force interaction if they need space. Most importantly, they’ll get lots of love, attention, and of course plenty of photo updates!

About: I have grown up with dogs, cats and even reptiles my whole life. I currently work anywhere from 10am to 7pm Sunday through Thursday. Morning and late evening check ins should work best for me, but I can be flexible when needed. About: I volunteer at the Stockton Animal Shelter. Also, I have a Pomeranian chihuahua mix so I’m used to smaller animals. My dog is 14-16 so he’s very old and is becoming more immobile and blind. I’m used to feeding him and helping him around the house. I’m currently working part time so most I’m completely free on the weekend as well as Monday and Tuesday. Also I have plenty of time on Thursday as a half day. I’m very respectful in others space. I will be very attentive to the rules that you lay out because you know your pet best

About: I adore animals. I've had dogs and cats around my whole life, I'm the first person my family goes to for help when they go on trips. Willing to work with any creatures 😁 I work full time Monday through Friday, we can always chat about my schedule if you need! I'm normally home on weekends so I'm looking to fill the rest of my schedule. I live with my parents still so I can't bring pets into my home, but we have a husky malamute who we've trained to not eat our cats or rats!

She's very professional about details, yet genuinely concerned about providing the best care for our pets. She went above and beyond to exercise our active dogs even though they were playing their own games. She even made an effort with our tortoises who required no care at all, because she loves animals. I would highly recommend her and will use her again and again for our pet care.”

About: I love animals and would love to help you watch yours if you're out or take them on walks for you! I had a German-Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador mix for 11 years, he passed away recently but brought years of joy and experience with a highly-energetic dog. I recently got my first cat, and I have lived with several other dogs and cats. I do not have any professional experience grooming or dealing with animals, but I am more than willing to help out with letting dogs out, taking them on walks, etc. I definitely have plenty of experience walking dogs because of my little guy. I look forward to hearing from you soon! I currently have quite open availability, almost any day and time should work with some notice, and I will try to make it work regardless. I have a fenced-in yard where a dog can go outside/play fetch. I have 1 cat, but he can be kept in a separate area of the house if preferred.

About: Since I was a little girl, I have always had a ♥ for animals. I've cared for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and a mini pig. A plus for me is that I have been a foster for Animal Rescue of Tracy for 10+ years now, so I have experience with all sorts of dogs and cats, from those who need special medication to rambunctious dogs to newborn kittens. There is no animal you can give me that I will not love, pet, cuddle, and care for. 🌷 I am a responsible 25 year old who has been caring for animals my whole life. This is my first Rover account, but I have been pet sitting in the Tracy community for 10 years. I live on 1.5 acres with 25 + animals, so I am very experienced and would love to help out with your furry friends! :) I'm currently working part-time with the majority of my work being remote so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets! 🏡 I live on 1.5 acres of property so your dogs will have plenty of space to run around, play, and relieve themselves. Depending on your dog's friendliness, they can remain inside with my two small dogs, or I can keep them in our supervised dog run area just for them. If you have cats, they will be contained in their own area in my house so that they do not run and hide, as new environments tend to cause anxiety. 🏠 If house sitting, I make the animals feel as comfortable as possible to ease any stress of their owners being away. Pets & play are always guaranteed. I also send pictures everyday & when asked! ⭐ My routine is simple: follow your directions on feeding, walking, medication if needed, and I will handle the other most important part: giving them lots of love!

FAQs for House Sitting - Simms

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Simms walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Simms maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Simms choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
