“One of my cats got injured right before a trip out of town, and Emma boarded him at her house while we were away. She gave him his medicine twice a day and sent pictures and information every day. She spent time cuddling him and he even got to make a little doggy friend. I wasn't sure how my cat would do around the other animals, so Emma was very thoughtful about how and who she introduced him to, and made sure he had his own private space so he could feel comfortable. About: I have cared for several work friend's pets, including someone who had 7 medium-large dogs with a laundry list of special accommodations and medications needed I am an Army Veteran going to college, this leaves my afternoons and weekends completely free. About: I have taken care of dogs within my household for 15 years now, with the additional walking & house sitting for neighbors! I recently started pet walking & sitting in Blacksburg this year and have had such a blast! As an incoming vet student this fall, I will bring an expertise and view that will be beneficial for the pet in their environment and for the owners. I am so motivated to support owners with their schedules by sitting or walking! I’m currently working part-time throughout the summer, and have time within the day to complete walks for your pets! I am also available to pet sit in-home for you if needed; preferably not Monday-Wednesday, but I am flexible! I always start off my sessions with building a connection with the pet prior. If possible, I like to meet prior to needing my services to socialize myself with the pet, so that trust can be gained. Once this is done, I love to play with the pets and cuddle them so that they feel secure! I love taking photos of the pets during walks to send to the owners, as this reassures them!

About: I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I have been pet sitting and taking care of dogs for ten years and have loved each and every animal I have cared for as if they were my own. I have owned dogs and cats my whole life and have trained them myself as I got older. I have experience with puppies under the age of one and will play with them until they can’t play anymore. When I care for your pets, I promise to give them as much love and affection as they get when you are there (possibly even more). Your animals are my top priority when I am caring for them, and I will love them as much as you do until you can get back to them. I am able to care for your pets any time. I will be starting school in the fall, but that will not impact the way I love and care for your pets due to the way my class schedule is structured. I have a very friendly lab that loves to play with other dogs. I ensure that when I am in someone else’s home, I am supervising the dogs while I also make sure they are getting the exercise and enrichment required for their breed and temperament. Every dog needs different treatment, and I will adjust the way I care for them based on their own needs.

About: I was responsible for caring for my childhood senior dog. She was a small chihuahua mix that I was responsible for walking, feeding and giving oral medications. I also cared for a family friend’s two German Shorthaired Pointer’s for a week. My responsibilities included feeding, walking, crating and administering oral medications! I currently work full-time but have a flexible schedule that allows me to check-in on pets during the morning and evening. However, I can provide longer check-ins during the weekend and have no standing/recurring commitments during the weekend. As someone who has owned pets before, I am well aware of the safety precautions needed. I make sure that my home is pet-proof by making sure my plants are out of reach and any dangerous chemicals. I also have experience with crating dogs.

About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.

I have had extensive experience in dog sitting/walking/drop ins, as well as boarding kennel and medical experience. About: I’ve had several pets in my household ever since I was young. I’ve always taken care of them, and have been relied on to pet sit for neighbors, family, and friends. I’ve also trained each of my pups in the house, such as the commands sit, lay down, stay, come, paw, roll over, and many more. One of my favorite experiences was taking care of a house full of pets for about a week that consisted of 9 cats, 5 dogs, and even a rabbit! About: I’ve been caring for dogs since middle school and have over 7 years of experience with pups and cats of all ages and temperaments. As a landscape architecture student at Virginia Tech, I love spending time outside and staying active—whether that means long walks, hikes, or just backyard playtime. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me for years to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets like my own. I treat every animal with patience, joy, and genuine care. I currently take classes from 8 in the morning until 12 pm, so I am available from 6-7am and 1-6pm M-F and 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday! I do my best to make your pet feel comfy and cared for, whether I’m hanging out at your place or taking them for a walk. I’ll follow whatever routine you’ve got and use whatever leash or gear you prefer. If your pup needs to be crated at certain times, I’ve got no problem with that—and I’ll make sure they’re settled and relaxed. I’m also comfortable giving meds if needed, just let me know the details :)

About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). I am on the Virginia Tech polo team, and we are in charge of all aspects of care for our 13 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am on break from school right now, and hybrid interning part time here in Blacksburg. I am very available and excited to spend time with your pets! Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.

About: I am offering house sitting, pet sitting, and dog walking services. I have taken care of dogs and other animals for a large part of my life, including caring for senior dogs and training puppies. I currently have one pup living with me. He is a large breed dog that I have raised since he was 8 weeks old and gone through successful training with. Though I do have a job, I am available for walking services in the evenings and am able to do drop in visits in the early morning, mid-day, and evenings. I have a much more open schedule during the weekends, so I am available for boarding, multiple drop- in visits per day, and multiple walks per day. I am available for long term boarding for vacations or time you think you may be out of town, as long as you are comfortable. Just reach out for any questions or concerns!
