“Selena was able to watch my cat with only three days notice. My regular sitter canceled at the last minute before my vacation. My cat was happy and healthy when I returned home. The feeding schedules were a little different than he was used to because we were squeezed in at the last minute.”

“James connected with my dog almost instantly and went above and beyond with her care. James helped us out when someone came to clean our apartment and Misha needed to be protected.”

“Rachel is a wonderful cat sitter! My cats were very happy and well taken care of, and even Bella, who is very shy around new people, warmed up to her. Rachel was also very easy to talk to and sent daily updates.”

About: I am passionate about dogs and have been my whole life! I’ve had the privilege of raising three dogs from puppyhood all the way through their golden years, so I have hands-on experience with every stage of a dog’s life, from the zoomies, the training, and to the senior snuggles. My sweet pup is back home in Colorado, and honestly, I’m hoping to get some dog time in while im in Virginia. Your fur baby will be in caring, experienced hands! I’m currently pursuing my PhD at VT, so my schedule revolves around research and the occasional class. My hours are very felxible, which means I’m rarely locked into a rigid 9-to-5. During the school year I typically have 1-2 classes, but outside of that my time is largely my own. That flexibility means I can easily work pet care into my daily routine, whether it’s midday walks, regular check-ins, or just making sure your pet has consistent company throughout the day. Safety is my top priority whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours! Unless there’s a securely fenced yard, dogs are always on leash, no exceptions. Before leaving any space, I do a thorough safety sweep to make sure nothing is within reach that could be chewed, swallowed, or knocked over. I’m also extremely vigilant about doors and escape routes, my own cats are certified escape artists, so I’ve become a pro at making sure no sneaky paws slip out unnoticed! You can trust that your pet’s environment will be secure, supervised, and set up for their safety.
About: I am a graduate student located in Blacksburg studying Counselor Education. This past summer I even got to take the Animal Assisted Counseling course and learn all about animal wellbeing in my profession! I have always had dogs and cat in my house growing up, and I have years of informal experience walking, feeding, and taking care of pets overnight. I am always a go to pet sitter for family and friends that are out of town because I always follow their directions as well as treat their home and pet with respect. I also have over a year of hands on volunteer experience at the People For Pets Foundation no kill cat cat shelter in Jeffersonton, VA. I am super flexible all summer! I am a server and work six hours shifts at the maximum. I am happy to serve you and your pets with temporary support or long-term weekly services! I can provide overnight support as well. A pet is like another member of the family, and I have always been taught to treat your family with respect and love them unconditionally. Being with animals is my absolute favorite thing in the world, and you can trust that your pet’s well being will always be my number one priority.
About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and have been tasked with taking care of others dogs as well. I would love to take your dogs on walks, play fetch in the backyard, or just lounge around all day. I have yet to meet a dog I didn’t like and am not afraid to deal with any messes if needed. I will be here over the summer and have no other obligations so if your animal needs someone there full time I would be happy to hang out with them! I care for pets by providing a comfortable and loving environment for your pet while you’re gone. I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make your pet feel like it’s just another day at home! I understand some pets may not react well to strangers initially, but I am extremely patient and will work with your pet to reach a trusting relationship.

I am available on weekdays and weekends for walking, pet sitting, or general pet care needs. I am a full time artist, so my schedule is relatively flexible. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and currently care for three cats and two dogs of my own, so I’m very comfortable handling different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also pet sat for neighbors, with experience in feeding routines, playtime, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. I’m attentive, reliable, and always focused on making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. While I’m newer to professional dog walking, I’m confident handling dogs and happy to follow any specific instructions to match your pet’s routine! Pet care fits easily into my routine, and I make it a priority to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I’m fully available on Mondays and Tuesdays, with flexible availability throughout the rest of the week. I currently work part-time, but I have consistent availability for drop-ins, visits, and short-term care. I’m happy to be flexible and work with your schedule to make sure your pet is well cared for. I treat every pet like they’re my own. During drop-ins, I follow your routines, give plenty of attention and play, and keep your home safe and tidy. On walks, I stay close, keep dogs on leash, and watch out for anything that could be unsafe. My goal is always happy, comfortable pets, and peace of mind for you.

“Gillian was an amazing pet sitter for Bubu! She was very attentive, friendly, and great with communication. It’s clear that she loves animals- and loves taking care of them as well. I came home to a very happy kitty!!! :)”

About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.
“Sam was very sweet and reliable and took excellent care of my cats! She sent pictures with each visit and did everything I asked while I was gone, making my trip so much easier. Highly recommended.”
About: Hello! I love all types of pets and currently have two dogs of my own. I am a student at Virginia-Maryland college of veterinary medicine trying to earn some extra money by doing what I love, playing with pets. I have experience with all types of pets at varying sizes and personalities. During my undergraduate career, I raised two Seeing Eye Dogs and helped other raisers with training. During this time, I worked at a veterinary hospital, participated in animal specific events like vaccination clinics, and groomed. From healthy puppies and kittens to seniors who need medication, I have seen it all and am prepared to help with whatever your pet needs. I hope I can meet your fur babies and shower them with love while you’re away. I offer additional grooming services, ask about them if your interested. As someone who owns two dogs, pet care is a priority in my life. Both of my pups get plenty of one-on-one time as well as long walks and enrichment in the house. During the day, the pups are crated while I am at school, but if my boyfriend is off of work they get to run around and play. As soon as I get home the dogs get taken out and fed. Along with daily care, I take care of all of their grooming and medical needs as well. I currently live in apartment complex which has a dog play area for your furry friends to get plenty of exercise. There is also a trail connected to the complex which will be utilized for long walks and plenty of sniffing opportunities. Both of my pups are very friendly and would be happy to be your pet’s playmate during their stay.
About: I have taken care of others' pets since 2010. Additionally, I have been working in animal care since 2015 and have experience with cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and rodents. I am looking to make more local connections with pets and expand my skills while attending veterinary school. I currently am a full-time veterinary student. I hope to be able to help pet parents out especially on weekends and holidays. I would also love to help out during lunch breaks and evenings away from the classroom. I treat each pet as if it were my own-with care, respect, and love. I respect the wishes of each client and care for the pet exactly as they ask. I like to keep a journal of the pet's behavior and activities to share with the owner so it feels like you didn't miss a thing!
“Amber was very informative throughout the whole process. She updated me every visit and sent me plenty of pictures! She was also very proficient with caring for my diabetic dog who needed insulin injections. I would definitely recommend her and appreciate all her love and care to my pets! ?”

About: My family has always had a bunch of different pets and animals. We have had Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, Pitbulls and Labs and I am happy to take care of any of your animals. I am more than willing to take your furry friends out for walks, give food, baths, or medicine and clean up any mess they make! I am currently working part-time, not all day and not everyday, so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets however you prefer. When caring for pets in my client's home, I ensure they receive personalized attention, including feeding, walking, playtime, and any necessary medications. I follow their routines closely, maintain a clean environment, and provide regular updates to the owners for peace of mind.
