“One of my cats got injured right before a trip out of town, and Emma boarded him at her house while we were away. She gave him his medicine twice a day and sent pictures and information every day. She spent time cuddling him and he even got to make a little doggy friend. I wasn't sure how my cat would do around the other animals, so Emma was very thoughtful about how and who she introduced him to, and made sure he had his own private space so he could feel comfortable. About: I’ve had dogs for over ten years, cats my whole life, been pet sitting for 4 years, and even worked at a doggy daycare for six months. About: I can’t remember a time where I didn’t have a pet growing up. I have a cavalier who is 4 years old and is spoiled rotten. We got her at 8 weeks. We crate trained her and have also taught her other tricks. I have also kept friends and family member’s pets. If your pet stays with us, they can expect to be cuddled, played with, and have full bellies! I’m a stay at home, so my schedule is very flexible. About: I have always been an animal lover! I always have to stop and pet when I see them. I have often pet sat/boarded our neighbors animals for weeks even. I love all animals! I am currently a stay at home mom so I have extra time to come walk your pets, sit with them, or even for them to come stay with me I am home all day. About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.

About: I like to take a supervised yet hands-off approach to watching over dogs. That is, letting dogs be their curious and playful selves while making sure they're safe and well taken care of. I've owned dogs my whole life (breeds including portuguese water dog, rottweilers, maltese/poodle mix, terrier mix, schnauzer/poodle mix, and a german shepherd currently) and find that they are happier and better behaved when given freedom to explore and lead rather than be expected to remain obedient and tame at all times. Some pups need more structure and thrive on a little more rigidity though, and I am very capable of meeting whatever their needs are and sticking to what you know is best for their personality. I am easily swooned by all kinds of dogs but am not one to let them use their good looks and charm to get the best of me. I am mostly just excited to hang out with as many of these guys as I can! I do want to be transparent that I work regular hours Mon - Fri, so I cannot stay with your pups 24/7 during the week. That being said, lunch time bathroom breaks are a guarantee! Walks in the morning and in the evening, and a quick potty break in the afternoon! I do have a day job, but your sweet pup will always be my first priority. I have a large backyard and live just a few short minutes from the Huckleberry Trail 🙂 I also have a spacious yard where your furry friend can roam free!

About: I’ve taken care of my family’s animals for over 10 years. I also have worked as a veterinary assistant since 2020. I graduated undergrad in 2022. I’m currently a full time veterinary assistant at VMCVM ICU. I currently work an overnight schedule but am available during the day! I will be returning to vet school again in January after a short leave of absence I’m able to walk, feed, give medications, and play with your animals! I’m comfortable with all types of animals with a variety of health problems and temperaments. I currently work night shift so I’m available most times during the day! About: I have taken care of animals most of my life, and have had anything from dogs and cats, to chickens and ducks, snakes, goats, llamas, etc. I have successfully trained dogs in basic behavioral skills and administered medication of various forms to all my animals. I also have confidence with even the largest of breeds, having owned a cane corso, among others. I have experience leash training as well as acclimating dogs with new animals and curbing unwanted behavior. I work full- time, but can work with you, especially if I can plan ahead by a week or more. I do occasionally leave town, but again, can generally adjust my schedule accordingly. I prefer to allow animals freedom to roam around if possible, but understand animals have different needs. All walks are leashed, no exceptions unless you have a fully fenced and secure yard you prefer your pet to run around.

I have experience caring for animals for up to 2 weeks at a time and have cared for dogs, cats, and bunnies. I work at Wonder Universe, the children’s museum in Christiansburg, about 15 hours a week! Otherwise, nothing concrete is on my schedule, and I am happy to work with your needs. I love to get dogs outside for fetch and running loose. I’m happy to do walks whether for potty or just for exercise. I know that play and stimulation are crucial for animals. I’m also a big fan of keeping things tidy (within reason) so any accidental mess from your fur babies will be as if it never happened.
About: I owned a beautiful 7 year old St. Bernard and although he was stubborn he taught me a lot. I am able to control and establish a barrier of trust between us to ensure my safety, his and the safety of those around us because let's be honest he is a big boy (180 lbs to be exact). Taking care of such a big boy, ensures me that I will be able to take care of your fur baby, no matter the size, or temperament. I have cared for many other dogs and house sat a few with behavioral problems as well. I am currently working part time, however my schedule is not exact, so as long as you reach out I will most likely be able to accommodate you and your furry friend. I have a front yard and a large crate meant for any size if necessary. I live in a townhome and can take your dog for as many or as little walks as they need.
