“Natalya was great, very communicative and was prompt. She was flexible around the holidays and always played with our cat when she was there. I would recommend her for cats, and we'll be reaching out in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of different kinds of animals since I was 12! I have two cats and two dogs of my own and have taken care of the animals of my friends and family reliably for years. I love all animals and have even taken care of chameleons, lizards, and ducks! I’m a college student home for the summer so I have a lot of availability for your animals! I can do both housesitting and drop in visits, and would be happy to spend time with your animals on weekends or weekdays! When watching animals, I am always sure to clarify all of their needs and schedules! I have experience in giving both cats and dogs medications, and would be happy to learn the specifications of your animals!
“I am so grateful that Aurore checked in on my two cats while I was away! The photos and knowing they were safe and cared for were such a relief and I will absolutely reach out to Aurore again!”

“Anna was wonderfully caring to our persnickety pup, asked great questions at our meet and greet, and offered quick and thorough communication throughout our time away. Would definitely hire Anna again!”

“Our two cats really liked Mickala. She went above and beyond helping us with several situations such as trimming a cat's nails and cleaning up some ants which got into the auto-feeders.”

About: Ive been caring for pets for many years. I had a dog walking business over a decade ago. We taken care of our own and others elderly dogs. We like taking dogs on long off leash walks in groups if possible. Dogs are always welcome to cuddle up on the furniture. Im a stay at home-mom, homeschooling. We go to play groups and trips but we can plan our day around dog walks. We take the dogs out first thing in the morning on leash as our yard isnt fenced. We are happy to come feed kitties and water plants. We love taking dogs out on walks and caring for them in our home. We love going on long walks mid day out in nature
“Thank you, Charlie! Charlie came over for a pretty last minute drop that we needed. Charlie was great with Otis and Juno, and I can tell their love for animals shows up in their work and commitments (: will definitely be booking again.”

About: I have over 13 years of experience caring for my Labradoodle and have developed a strong understanding of dogs' needs, behaviors, and routines. In addition to caring for my own pet, I have experience walking and looking after friends' dogs, giving me confidence working with pets of different personalities and energy levels. I am reliable, attentive, and committed to ensuring every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. As a UMass student on summer break, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to care for your pet. I am committed to providing reliable, attentive care and treating every animal as if they were my own. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make it a priority to follow their usual routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. During drop-in visits, I ensure pets have fresh water, are fed according to instructions, receive plenty of attention and playtime, and have any other needs met. On walks, I focus on safety, exercise, and making sure each dog gets the activity level they need. I treat every pet and home with respect and care, and I always keep owners updated with photos and messages.
About: I’ve lived with pets for my whole life, and I currently have 1 dog and 2 cats (and 5 chickens!) at home. I have experience pet sitting for all kinds of animals (including ducks!), and all of the dogs and cats I’ve taken care of hold a special place in my heart. I took care of a cat who needed medicine squirted into her mouth each morning, as well as a dog who needed special medicine with her food. Overall, the biggest thing I bring to the table as a pet sitter is my love of all pets, and my dedication to making sure they receive the best love and care while you’re away. I am a college student, but all of my classes end in the early afternoon, and I have plenty of time in the morning to fit in pet care. I will not say yes to taking care of your pet if I don’t think I can give your pet the amount of time and care they deserve. Every pet I’ve taken care of has had slightly different needs and routines, and I always try to stick to that so not too much changes for them. I had a dog who needed a walk 3 times a day, and was super cuddly during the day, so I spent a lot of time cuddly and playing with her. I’ve also had cats who were very shy and nervous, so I made sure to give them space but also room for love if they wanted it. There’s no one way to care for pets that works universally, but I always make sure to feed/walk/play with them and give them the love and attention they need.
“Juliana has been a true gift to me and my senior husky, Arlo. She has lovingly cared for him while I am travel for work, walking him and giving him his meds diligently. She even cleaned the house while I was away and took the trash out! Arlo and I are so lucky to have found Juliana and are extremely grateful for her !!”

About: I have lots of experience house/pet sitting and can provide multiple references. I love all animals and will dedicate time to making them feel comfortable with me. I am currently unemployed - looking to fill tons of time with pet care! If you need someone for a longer job or last minute help, let me know! I spend lots of time with the pets I watch and I am happy to provide any specific needs: dietary, scheduling, playtime quirks! Very committed to keeping your pup or cat happy.
“Grace was very punctual, thorough and communicative every day while we were on vacation. We give her all five stars and look forward to booking her again when we next have to leave home.”

“So happy I found Daniel because I know June is getting all kinds of love, attention and mental and physical exercise. He’s a real pro and clearly loves what he does.”

“Carol was a great communicator who made us feel confident our cat was in good hands while we were away. She shared daily updates and photos that showed our moody cat warming up to her a bit more during each visit.”

“Lukas was absolutely wonderful with Hazel and KitKat. When I got home, even after a horrific rainstorm, they were happy and purring as if I'd never left. I cannot thank Lukas enough for giving my cats such good care. Not only do I highly recommend Lukas to watch your furry friends, I now have peace of mind to know that I have someone I can count on for future visits. Thank you so much!”

“This was the first time leaving our pets with Shona. She was simply wonderful and very reliable. Shona responded to our questions quickly and we always felt that our pets were well taken care of. Thank you so much Shona!!!”
“Megan is a phenomenal pet sitter! She watched my two cats for over a week and took such good care of them that when I got home it was like I was never gone! They were so happy - both in the daily adorable pictures Megan sent and when I got home. They were clearly very well cared for and loved while I was away. Will definitely book Megan again and highly recommend her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shutesbury
Natalya was very caring of our cat Percy, and made time to play with her and send lots of updates. She also was very flexible and attentive during schedule changes due to a winter storm, including coming in the late evening when the roads were clear. Natalya was a great communicator with me and I would absolutely request her again and recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
