I have cared for dogs of every size, flavor, and temperament. I have extensive experience training dogs, and quite frankly, I've watched a whole lot of Westminster dog show. In particular, I have specialized experience with shy or nervous dogs and will provide them the space and understanding needed to relax and feel comfortable. I am happy to walk or jog to help burn canine energy. Not afraid to get down in the dirt and play! I have been deeply involved in cat rescue since 2020, when I began working remotely. I have fostered dozens of cats over the years. This includes kittens with complex medical issues. I am very capable at medicating cats and kittens as well as identifying when a cat may be feeling unwell. When you board with me, your pet will not be left alone for more than 1 hour. I only board pets from one household at a time and provide dedicated personal care. When your baby is at my house, they are family. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions. I'm currently working remotely doing project-based contract work, so I have plenty of availability and scheduling flexibility. If boarding or house-sitting, I will be fully available and no pet will be left alone longer than an hour. I have a friendly chihuahua mix (8 lbs) and 2 cats, but if needed, I have plenty of room to give everyone their own space. I have an unfenced backyard with plenty of room to romp. Dogs will always be leashed or tethered in yard.

About: I have hands-on experience working with animals through both therapy dog work and my previous experience as an assistant to a veterinary technician. This has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and how to handle pets with care, patience, and confidence. I’m comfortable supporting pets with different needs and always focus on making them feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Working from home allows me to be a consistent, calming presence for your pet throughout the day whether at my home or yours. I truly enjoy spending that time with them—whether it’s going on walks, giving them attention, or just being nearby so they don’t feel alone. I know every pet is different, so I follow their lead and make sure they feel comfortable and secure, whether they’re full of energy or prefer a more relaxed, quiet routine. About: Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, and I'm surrounded by them every day. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, goats, rats and more. Every dog I've owned has been personally trained by me, giving me hands-on experience with behavior, structure, and individualized care. I live on a small farm and work from home, so I'm available throughout the day for animal's needs. Caring for horses, dogs, and cats is already a part of my daily routine, making pet care a natural part of my lifestyle. I have a fully fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can provide companionship for social dogs. I'm experienced in safely managing separate spaces if a dog prefers to be alone of is not dog-friendly, ensuring every pet gets plenty of personalized care, attention, and outdoor time.

“We had to get work done to our house and or dog couldn't be home during the day. I looked at other options and they just didn't fit what we needed. We'd have to take off some hours from work as the construction was done on our house. I hopped onto Rover and quickly found Ashley. The rates were affordable and her profile really stood out as someone who cares about pets. We consider our dog, Amber, one of our children. Ashley was amazing with pick up and drop off. Always on time which was great because we wanted Amber to be picked up before the workers got there. When we got home from work Ashley would drop her off. My dog gets anxious easily and that, in turn, made me anxious about her being with someone she didn't know in a place she had never been. But Ashley was reassuring and great with her, even in the car ride which Amber usually despises. Ashley sent pictures and updates of Amber relaxing and being happy each day. Highly recommended. “From the moment we dropped Nessa off until the time we picked her up, we were pleasantly surprised by how completely at home she felt with Marla. Normally, Nessa is very apprehensive when meeting new people, new animals, or even visiting a new place. But from the moment Marla opened the door, our normally shy and hesitant little girl ran right into the house to greet Marla and all of her pets. To say my husband and I were shocked would be an understatement! Watching Nessa happily run off to play filled this mom and dad with so much joy. While we were attending our niece’s wedding, we kept checking our phones, fully expecting a call or text saying Nessa was crying or looking for us. That message never came—because she was apparently having the time of her life! When we returned to pick her up, Nessa was excited to show us all of her new friends. It was obvious she had been well cared for and truly enjoyed her stay. We could tell that Marla treated Nessa as if she were one of her own, and there is no greater compliment we could give. We only wish Marla lived in Connecticut instead of New York. Finding someone who genuinely loves and cares for your pet as though they were part of their own family is incredibly rare, and we would trust her with Nessa again in a heartbeat.”
