“I was so nervous to leave my 9 month old puppy for the first time, but Angela reassured me and made me feel completely comfortable. Angela is friendly and warm and I knew immediately this is where my Sunny should be. I was able to enjoy my weekend knowing my puppy was well cared for and showered with love. We will absolutely use Angela in the future! I can’t say enough good things about this experience.”

“Conrad was great with the dogs! We were so grateful that he was able to watch them over the thanksgiving holiday and we could just relax and not worry. Thanks again!”

“My two doggos stayed the night with Jennifer and they seemed to have a good time. There were other dogs there and they love that. When Jennifer sent an update photo, my two were just cuddled up along with the three other dogs. They looked very comfortable. Her home was set up with the dogs in mind with lots of beds and a big fenced yard.”

“First time using a dog sitter for my pup and Stacy was amazing at putting my mind at ease! She sent multiple pictures and updates on my dog and was also very responsive with my messages. I also appreciated how flexible she was with pick up and drop off. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Teisha and Keevin and their kids were so great with our dog. I would highly recommend! We really appreciate how patient and caring they were, as our dog has a lot of anxiety.”

“Jay and his family were great. They took our dog in during the Thanksgiving holiday. He is often shy but that was not the case with Jay. We were provided daily updates regarding Charlie’s well being. He was very much pampered. It seems Charlie has found his vacation home when we are in the area again.”

“Bonnie and her kids were amazing dog sitters for Dorothy. From the moment I handed her off I could see the kids showering her with love. Bonnie sent me updates and pictures the whole time, and when dorothy came back she was completely tuckered out. Bonnie was also super flexible with pickup/dropoff. Beware though — the children are all armed with swords because apparently there’s a dragon lurking in the house.”

About: pup is never alone with me! I'm Carolyn, proud mom to Maxx (9-year-old terrier mix), and I bring 9 years of dog-mom experience to every booking: on-time meds, consistent routines, and endless affection. Lots of photo updates included. I currently work from home. I enjoy the companionship a pup gives while I work. So I am always available to care for our furry friends. I try to take a walk outside minimum 3 times a day to get myself moving. Happy to do more if needed. My house is a quiet environment for anxious dogs or outgoing.
“Brittany is a lifesaver! We were camping in Zion and the AC went out in our camper, so our dog was basically on the verge of heat stroke. I contacted her and within a little over an hour, Buster was safe safely at her air conditioned home less than 30 minutes away 🥰 She also sent us pictures and updates. Definitely recommend Brittany and her family!”
About: I’ve been around dogs since I was a kid. I’m a dog groomer who owns 3 dogs. I always take good care of friends/neighbors dogs! I’m a part-time dog groomer at home, and I would love to use my spare time as a pet sitter. I love working with animals I think about their safety and feeling first so I always examine their behavior and personalities so it helps me when I walk and play with them.
About: Hi there! For years I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends and family while they’re away, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in a calm environment. I have plenty of hands-on experience and truly enjoy giving pets attention, care, and consistency while their owners are gone! I do have 3 outdoor cats, but they are separate and will not interfere with your pet’s space, comfort, or routine. When I’m not caring for animals, you can find me at church, playing pickleball, reading my Bible, going to the gym, or grabbing an acai bowl! :) I play professional pickleball, so my day is structured around training in short blocks. I train in the morning and again in the afternoon, but I’m home throughout the day to care for pets and provide walks, attention, and consistency. I’m never gone for more than 2–3 hours at a time, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. I’m available most weekdays and weekends when I’m not traveling for tournaments. I will only accept bookings when I’m fully available to provide proper care and attention! I have a spacious one story home and a backyard where pets can safely spend time outside. One side of the yard is not fully fenced, so I always supervise outdoor time or keep them on their leash. Pets will also get regular walks around my safe, quiet neighborhood for exercise. My home is clean, calm, and set up to make pets feel comfortable and secure!
“Joanie and Greg were awesome! We set up a meet-and-greet beforehand, which made me feel super comfortable leaving my dogs with them. They were easy to communicate with, kept me updated and made sure our dogs stayed active and happy with plenty of fun activities. Our dogs came home content and well cared for—couldn't ask for a better experience!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Shivwits can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Shivwits home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Shivwits.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Shivwits sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
