“Mya was a wonderful sitter while we were out of town. She communicated with periodic check ins complete with pictures of our fur babies. She followed all of our instructions to the letter and even left us a thoughtful keepsake. Will definitely book her again.”

About: I am a long time pet owner with hands on experience caring for dogs, cats, and fish. I understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable when leaving your pet in someone else's care. I currently have two pets of my own and I am very attentive to routines, personalities, and individual needs. I have experience with daily care tasks such as feeding, walks, litter box maintenance, playtime, brushing, and providing companionship. I'm comfortable with pets who need a little extra patients, including senior pets, shy cats, and animals who prefer calm, consistent care. I approach pet sittign the way I would want someone to care for my own pets. What sets me apart is my calm, dependable approach and strong focus on trust. I'm organized, communicative, and respectful of both pets and homes. I currently work full time during the day Monday-Friday. I offer pet sitting services such as check ins before and after work on weekdays. I also will consider overnight house/pet sitting in the local area through the week. I am willing to do overnight house/pet sitting at greater distances on Friday and Saturday nights. I don't rush visits, and I take time to make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I'm especially mindful of routines and instructions, and I provide updates so owners feel reassured while they're away. I work best with clients who value reliability, clear expectations, and thoughtful care over a one-size-fits-all approach.

“Wonderful stay for our little guy in our home! Samantha did so good with our puppy and on such a short notice. He was just training and she was understanding with him. We appreciated that he did not suffer any regression with his new training and actually was progressing right along as would be hoped. Definitely would love to have Samantha stay for us again, and would recommend highly!!”

“Crissy is a knowledgeable and professional dog sitter. She was able to easily navigate our different dynamics, having a newly adopted dog who is still getting used to her new home & also an energetic fun-loving hound who can be a lot to handle. Crissy came and handled them with ease. Even took them on walks and sent plenty of pictures and updates. We are so glad we found her!”

About: I have been around animal care since I was born. I have six dogs of my own, ranging from a Husky all the way down to a Maltese. I have a real passion for animals and love to take care of them. I often help out with neighbors and friends to pet sit while out of town or for a quick potty break if needed. I’m currently starting my Master’s program in August with university of west Georgia. Outside of my classes, I have free time that does not always allow for a full time job, but just enough for pet sitting. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and daily routines to help your pet feel secure while you’re away. I treat every home with respect, keep doors and gates securely closed, use leashes on all walks unless you’ve instructed otherwise in a secure area, and provide regular updates with photos so you can have peace of mind.

About: I have over 5 years of professional animal care experience and well over 10 in personal animal care experience ranging from raising and training litters of puppies to assisting with horses. I have had animals all my life and was raised to put their care before my own. For the last 5 years I have worked in vet clinics while in school at UGA pursuing a degree in animal biological sciences. While working in those vet clinics I have worked as both a boarder and a vet tech at a fear free clinic dealing with both calm and more aggressive animals. My duties in these positions were watering, feeding, walking, and administering medication for pets ranging from 6 months old to elderly. I am very well versed in all types of animals and am happy to answer any questions you may have for me! I am a teacher and am entering summer break so I have all the time in the world to care for your pets! While I cannot house sit due to having a dog of my own I am more than happy to take time to visit your fur baby when necessary while my dog plays with my family pets at home! I provide a safe, calm, and reliable experience for pets during walks and drop-in visits. I treat every pet like my own and follow all my clients instructions carefully to keep pets comfortable, happy, and safe. Safety is very important to me, so I always use secure leash practices, pay close attention to my surrounding during walks, and make sure doors and gates are secure before leaving. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners are sure their pets are in good hands.
“I really wanted to keep Brianna, but she communicates well when securing the job but her communication is hit or miss when sitting. Also, the last visit she was late and I asked for her to modify the visit to a drop in since she came late even after me asking for a cancelation. I still have not gotten half of my money back even after contacting Rover, which Brianna has nothing to do with. She was great with my pet and I appreciate that, but as a traveling fur mommy, communication is non negotiable and I still want my refund from Rover.”

“Kelly came in a very difficult time for us when we had a family emergency. Is answered immediately when we needed her and took great care of our dog and home. Kelly is truly special and I will absolutely use her again. Thank you Kelly!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for over 5+ years, providing quality care. I adore them so much and would love to house sit, dog sit, or cat sit for you! I will have plenty of time during the week or on the weekends to play with your animals! I have a flexible schedule for your pets. I will come to your home & play, feed, or let out your animals for the bathroom. Whatever you need me to do, I’m there!

About: Hi! I’m Mya, and I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. I’ve always had pets and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all different personalities. I currently have an 8-year-old cat named Frankie. She’s very sweet and independent and prefers to keep her distance from visiting pets, so I make sure every animal has a comfortable space and take introductions at a relaxed pace. When your pet stays with me, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while keeping them as close to their normal routine as possible. I’m happy to provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention and cuddles. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet with someone else, so I’ll keep you updated throughout their stay with pictures and messages. I’d love to meet you and your pet! I work Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, so my boarding schedule is best suited for weekends and overnight stays. For weekday boarding, I prefer drop-offs after 7 PM when I’m finished with work and can give your pet my full attention. If you need care for a few hours in the evening after 7 PM, feel free to message me and I’ll be happy to discuss availability. Weekend drop-offs and pickups are flexible and can be arranged in advance. I have two cats in my home who are very friendly and love all animals, they are very well socialized. However, they can be moved to different rooms if that is what’s best for your fur baby.
About: I have been taking care of animals either on my own or with my siblings for as long as I can remember. I sit for one family very frequently. They rely on me to administer medicine, walk, feed, and bathe their pets. I love them like they’re my own. I am a hairstylist and I work 4-5 days a week but my hours are extremely flexible. My work is located in a very central area so I’d be able to let them out during the day as well. At the clients home I will do any task that is needed to keep the dogs happy and healthy. I would prefer watching the animals at the clients home only because I live in an apartment, but if for some reason I need to bring them to my hosue I have a super friendly cat that gets along great with all animals.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shady Grove
Mya is an absolute doll! We had a last minute, pretty long trip (8 days). I was very nervous being away from Cassius (85lb pitt/lab mix) for that amount of time but Mya took the very best care of our sweet buddy. She kept his routine and gave him tons of love in our absence. She sent pictures and updates 2-3 times a day. She also went above and beyond with small asks like checking the mail. Mya is very easy to communicate with and I even enjoyed quite a bit of random small talk with her. I appreciate her care for Cassius, and for our home. Mya is more than welcomed in our home anytime!

We used Crissy this last weekend when we had to go out of town and could not take our fur babies. She set up a time prior to when she was going to stay at our home with them, to come over and meet my 4 dogs as well as my husband and me. She did a great job taking care of them and sent me several pictures and texts while she was watching them to let me know how everything was going. I would definitely recommend Crissy and will use her again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Shady Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Shady Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shady Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shady Grove. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
