“Once again Cheryl had taken excellent care of our aging dog. She gives him his medication, spends time with him outdoors, and cares for him as if he were her own. He adores her! And so do we!”
About: I love all animals, I’ve dog sit in the past for families and really enjoyed it. I have prior experience with small dogs, along with larger ones. I’m looking for openings in the Louisburg area. Looking forward to have the opportunity to work with different animals and meeting new people in the area. I believe you have to be patient with all animals and pets especially when you are first meeting them. Always keeping in mind that it’s going to take time for them to warm up to a new person caring for them. I’m currently taking a break from nannying, and have a huge love for animals. I’ve had pets all my life. From cats, fish, hamsters, and dogs; to birds, snakes, iguanas and bearded dragons! I’m excited and can’t wait to meet your pets!! :) Being respectful of people’s homes, personal spaces and overall privacy. My main focus is the well being of the animal, making sure they’re taken care of.
“Akira was amazing with our dog, Ripley! She updated us regularly with pics and we did not stress at all about our pup while on vacation. She watched Ripley in our home and left everything in perfect order. We will absolutely book with Akira again in the future!”

“Kennedy is a fantastic sitter! Just got back from my first trip away from my pup, and Kennedy helped me feel totally comfortable with it all. She sent lots of pictures and updates while I was gone, and my pup is very happy! Not only did she take good care of my dog, she also took great care of my home and left it looking better than she found it. Would definitely HIGHLY recommend her. So happy to have a good, reliable sitter for future adventures! Thanks Kennedy!”

“Matthew was great!! We have a 5 month old vizsla puppy and he came and stayed at our house. He took Mater on long walks, always sent updates, photos, and videos. Mater was so happy when we got home, but also seemed like he missed his new friend! Matthew also cleaned the sheets, made the bed and washed all the towels. He kept the house very clean! Thank you so much!”

About: What sets me apart is my calm, patient approach and genuine love for all animals. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, routine, and comfort level—whether they’re energetic, shy, senior, or still learning. I’m attentive on walks, gentle during sitting, and always focused on safety, consistency, and positive interactions. I’m especially mindful with senior pets who may need slower walks, extra comfort, or medication reminders, and I’m patient with puppies who are still learning routines and leash manners. I communicate clearly with owners, follow care instructions closely, and treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is simple: happy, relaxed pets and complete peace of mind for you. My open availability allows me to be hands-on and fully present, giving your pet(s) lots of attention and personalized care with patience love and consistency. I make sure your pet(s) feel safe, happy, and loved in their own home. I stick to their routine, give plenty of cuddles, play, and gentle attention, and make sure they’re comfortable every step of the way. You’ll get updates, photos, and lots of peace of mind while I care for your furry (or feathery!) family members.
About: What sets me apart is that I’m not just a pet lover. I’m a vet student in the making. Caring for animals isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s part of my future career. I take the time to really get to know each pet’s personality and needs, whether that’s helping a puppy burn off energy and learn basic manners, or giving a senior pet the extra patience, comfort, and gentle care they deserve. Because I’m passionate about animal health, I pay close attention to things like eating habits, energy levels, and behavior changes, so I can spot if something seems off and communicate that to owners right away. I’m also comfortable handling a variety of breeds, temperaments, and special needs.nFor me, pet sitting isn’t just “watching” animals it’s making sure they’re safe, happy, and thriving, while giving owners peace of mind that their pets are in caring, capable hands. Pet care is something I fit naturally into my day. My mornings usually start with feeding, fresh water, and a walk or some playtime to make sure pets start the day happy and active. If I have classes, I plan my schedule so I can come by for potty breaks, belly rubs, and some one on one time in between. In the evenings, I love taking longer walks, heading to a park, or just spending time playing or relaxing together. Weekends are perfect for extra adventures like exploring trails, visiting pet-friendly spots, or giving them some extra grooming and attention. For me, pets aren’t something I try to “fit in” around my day they’re part of it. I love making sure they get the care, attention, and love they need, no matter how busy my schedule gets. Whether in my own home or in a client’s home, my priority is to create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for pets. I pay close attention to a pet’s personality, habits, and routines so I can adapt my care to their comfort level, whether that means providing a quiet, calm environment for shy pets or engaging in active play for more energetic ones. I also make it a point to send regular updates, photos, and notes to owners so they feel reassured and connected while they’re away. In my own home, I designate safe areas for rest, play, and meals, and I make sure fresh water is always available. In a client’s home, I follow their specific instructions closely everything from where the pet sleeps to how they like their walks so the pet’s routine is not disrupted. My goal is for every pet to feel secure, cared for, and happy, no matter the environment.

“Marcus is wonderful! We have used him many times and he is always a great communicator. He leaves the house tidy and we can tell that the pups are well loved/taken care of when we’re gone!”

“Melissa and her family are great!! We have a challenging puppy and she can give anyone a run for their money. Melissa was up for the challenge and handled our girl in stride. She was great with communication before and during the stay. Melissa checked in daily with photos and reports of our girls behavior and progress. We brought her home tired out and thats pretty hard to do with a 9 month old bloodhound. We appreciate Melissa and will definitely be using her again. 100% Recommend!!”

About: I am a work from home mom who loves pet sitting. I started this journey a few years ago, and has had the privilege of hosting several dogs of all ages, personalities and sizes. My children absolutely love animals, especially dogs, so there will be lots of cuddles and love from us. I take dog sitting very seriously, so I am very careful, and I always aim to please my pet parents, so I am always sending pictures, videos, and making sure your baby is happy and well taken care of. I am big on staying fit and healthy, so I take daily walks to get my steps in. I am very accommodating, so nothing is ever too much for me. I’ve had pet parents ask me to scramble eggs for their fur babies and put it on top of their dog food, and I’ve also had pet parents tell me to only feed their fur baby with a spoon, so please don’t hesitate to ask for any special request, because I aim to please! I work from home during the week and I have lots of down-time allowing me to interact and play with your fur baby . I am off during weekends and holidays I have a big house with an unfenced yard, and a loving family that will play and love on your fur baby. We will take daily walks, play outdoors, and have lots of play time and cuddles.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seven Paths walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seven Paths maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seven Paths choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Seven Paths. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
