“Cheryl looked after our dog and somewhat “difficult” cat recently after a friend had recommended her. She visited twice before we went away and took lots of notes. Our dog fell in love instantly, as apparently Cheryl knows what a tennis ball is all about!! While away we had frequent communication and photos which completely put us at ease. I will definitely be using Cheryl again.”

“This was my first time using John as our pet sitter. I chose him because he had such great reviews. Here is another one! John was very professional from the start. Promptly replied to my request, scheduled a meet and greet, and was wonderful at keeping me up to date with texts and pictures. I highly recommend him.”

“Jessica was a Godsend. Due to a last minute sitter cancellation that left me scrambling for a long work trip, I found Jessica. Then right before my trip, my pup got an injury. I walked through everything with Jessica and with her prior experience caring for fosters, I knew he was in the right hands while I was away. She took amazing care of my guy, kept me up to date on everything and sent loads of pictures of my guy. I am forever grateful for the care she provided while I was away for an extended period and helping Beckham recover from his injury. Highly recommend booking with Jessica!”

About: What sets me apart from everyone else is that I’m calm and patient with every animal, and I’m very for keep my own animals fit and health, I will do the same for your I currently work from home and have more time to do drop ins and boardings. I don’t mind doing work from home from your home as well, just need to know in advance I am currently in the process of getting a fence put in, so I have plenty of space for your pup to run around in. I also have plenty of toys, due to having a German Sheppard mix
“John is the best at what he does when it comes to pet care. He went above and beyond caring for our dog, cat and the house and was extremely responsible. It was our first experience with the Rover app and definitely a successful one. John sent daily pics and videos and kept us informed throughout the week. Our pets were secure and happy, and our house was spotless upon return. Exceeded my expectations. I would definitely book with him again! Thanks, John!”

“This was a last minute booking. We had to leave for NJ when my father died and Kelly stepped up for us. She did a wonderful job taking care of our three dogs. One has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day and is also blind. Kelly had no problems with the shots or with bonding with our babies. She kept us updated, which was wonderful. Kelly even did some unexpected cleaning during her down time, which was unexpected, but so appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Kelly and would definitely use her again in the future.”

About: I love all animals, I’ve dog sit in the past for families and really enjoyed it. I have prior experience with small dogs, along with larger ones. I’m looking for openings in the Louisburg area. Looking forward to have the opportunity to work with different animals and meeting new people in the area. I believe you have to be patient with all animals and pets especially when you are first meeting them. Always keeping in mind that it’s going to take time for them to warm up to a new person caring for them. I’m currently taking a break from nannying, and have a huge love for animals. I’ve had pets all my life. From cats, fish, hamsters, and dogs; to birds, snakes, iguanas and bearded dragons! I’m excited and can’t wait to meet your pets!! :) Being respectful of people’s homes, personal spaces and overall privacy. My main focus is the well being of the animal, making sure they’re taken care of.

About: I have had various experiences with dogs and cats. I grew up around animals. I have dog sit and cat sit for friends and families for multiple years now and am very reliable. I have let sit for large dogs that are in older age and needs special care. I have also pet sit for multiple pets at once. It was a small dog and 2 cats. We went in walks, had cuddles, and played games. We even got to play with some toys. I am currently on summer break from teaching and am completely free. As I am not teaching right now I am able to be flexible to your needs of your pets. Whether that is going for a walk or going outside to play. I have my own apartment and it is animal friendly. Due to this the environment is very safe and inviting. In my home it is very calm and clean. This is important just in case your pet has allergies. Since I don’t have any pets myself I am able to give lots of care and attention to your pets.
“Booked Sarah for an in house sitting for my three dogs for a 7 day family trip. The house looked exactly as I left. She provided amazing care to our 3 dogs and was attentive the whole stay. We received multiple updates through out the stay along with pics and videos.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life ranging from 175 to 50 pounds. My family also breeds dogs so I’m comfortable with all ages. I have dog sat for numerous family and friends and love all animals so your pet will get treated as if they were my own. I’ve also took care of dogs that take medication, are on special diets. I have a full time job but I make my own schedule so I will base that off of my schedule with rover. Pets will be well taken care of and took on walks. If your pet is more laid back and likes to lay around all day then we will do that. If your pet has a lot of energy and like to run the we can do that as well. I have plenty of yard for your pet/pets to play. I currently don’t have any other animals in the house and am waiting for my puppy to be born! Your pet will be allowed on furniture unless that is a rule you have then I will not go against it. I have plenty of toys, dog beds, and crates if needed.

About: I’ve taken care of puppies, older dogs, and cats for 4 years now. I love and care for each animal as if they are my own because I know how important a pet is to their family. I also respect all the rules given by their owners and make sure I’m following exact instructions. I also volunteered on a farm for a while as a young child and grew up taking care of my family’s chickens so animal care is something that has always been a part of my life. I am just graduated from school and getting my priorities straight so I have a very flexible schedule. When I’m working other jobs, they’re in the evenings and in my control as for scheduling and time so if there are specific needs for your pets around certain times, I can accommodate. I pet sit and homes and follow all rules that are given for me. I treat your space and your pets space with full respect and make sure I take care of it even better than my own space.

“Nick was amazing with our dogs and kept them well exercised and taken care of. He also took great care of our house and upon getting home, we arrived to a very clean house. Will definitely rebook Nick for future dog sitting!”
“Melissa and her family are great!! We have a challenging puppy and she can give anyone a run for their money. Melissa was up for the challenge and handled our girl in stride. She was great with communication before and during the stay. Melissa checked in daily with photos and reports of our girls behavior and progress. We brought her home tired out and thats pretty hard to do with a 9 month old bloodhound. We appreciate Melissa and will definitely be using her again. 100% Recommend!!”

I am off during weekends and holidays I have a big house with an unfenced yard, and a loving family that will play and love on your fur baby. About: For as long as I could remember I’ve been my family’s go-to pet sitter. Anytime my Grandmother had a doctors appointment or my Aunt and Uncle left town, I would be their first choice. I love animals and caring for them, making them comfortable when their families are gone is not an easy task but easing their anxiety and keeping them comfortable is a very rewarding job. I’ve worked with rover in the past when I was in high school and it was a great experience. I am currently working part time but my schedule is relatively flexible. As far as boarding goes there is and will always be someone at the house caring for the dogs 24/7. I have a large plot of land adjacent to my house for the puppies to play in. I currently have three very friendly small dogs who love to play and make friends.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 812 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Momeyer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Momeyer walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Momeyer maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Momeyer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Momeyer. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
