“Ashley was amazing! In all my years of having a dog sitter Ashley was the BEST! She was on time, attentive, sent pictures at every visit and even left treats, bandanas and a special treat from her garden. Rover is so lucky to have Ashley represent them and we feel so lucky to have her in our home taking care of our fur babies.”

“My cat, Charlie, is very shy and cautious. Nick has been super patient with getting him on his good side! Charlie has warmed up to him so much, especially with this last visit. I always get so many pictures and videos which is something any pet parent would appreciate!”

“Teresa did a wonderful job taking care of our menagerie for a week while we were gone. We have 1 dog, 3 cats, chickens, a bunny and fish tanks, which can be a lot for some pet sitters, but Teresa did a great job. Will continue to use her for future trips :)”

“Alexandria did a great job with my kitty, Bea. When I got home Bea was calm, happy, fed, and her long hair was brushed. She sent photos and videos. The house was tidy! She even put out the trash for trash day. I would ask Alexandria to Bea-sit again.”

“Violet was a super prompt communicator and had no issues taking over on caring for our cat, Miso. She even traversed rough storm weather to check on her when we were out of the country. Would def book again!”

“Erika was exceptional! She took care of our two cats for 6 days and did a wonderful job. She was reliable, consistent, and responsive. She sent us daily photos, and it put our minds at ease just knowing our kitties were being well cared for by her. She even checked in to ensure we were back home so that the cats had continued care. I highly recommend her services and would rebook with her again for sure.”

“All the fur babies love V and are excited for each of their visits! Even our scaredy cat warms up to her more and more each time. We know the pets are in great care while we are away!”
“Today was the first time that we had Lindsay come meet our dog, Zeus, and it went so amazing! She was so attentive to him and taking the time to get to know him (and he absolutely adored her and all the pets he was getting). We are excited for her to continue building a rapport with him and start meeting with him weekly!”

About: Hi there, everyone! Please scroll to the bottom and read our policies before booking! But before you go, let us tell you about ourselves! We offer the most unique experience for your pets, allowing them to have their own getaway when you have things come up in life. Whether that is planned vacations or when life likes to kick you down, we are here to offer a boarding experience like no other. My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. It is our goal for our furry guests to have a safe and stimulating environment at all times during their stay!
About: Hi! I love all animals and pets. I grew up with guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils at home and have pet sat for cats and dogs since I was a kid. Since 2020, my family has been involved in a service dog organization. We have fostered and helped train and care for numerous puppies and adult dogs. In addition to puppy training, I also have experience with reactive dogs and giving pills. I'm comfortable with various energy levels and temperaments. I can follow specific routines, reinforce training, and provide both physical activity and mental stimulation to keep your dog happy and healthy. I am currently enjoying summer break and working part time, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. Cuddling with pets or getting outside for a walk would be easy and great additions to my day! I cannot board pets due to roommate allergies, but I am happy to care for your pet in your home. I am currently on summer break so my schedule has a lot of flexibility, including during the week and over weekends. I will strive to build trust with you and with your pet, and will communicate thoroughly and diligently. Doing a meet and greet and covering and special needs and preference will help me care for your pet the way that you need! I will exercise your pet or cuddle with them. I will walk your dog in your neighborhood, take them to a trail or to a park, play with them using their favorite toys, and help with training. The most important thing for me is that you and your pet are both happy and comfortable!
“Ken was amazing at taking care of the dogs! He came on time, stayed for a while, kept great notes and made sure to include pictures (which I love). I never had to worry about whether or not the dogs needed to go outside, get some love and affection, or needed to drink some water. Ken made sure everything was documented so I knew how my fur babies were doing while I wasn't there. Highly recommend and will be using his services again for sure soon!”

“Phoenix was so well taken care of with David. He sent pics, kept us up to date. Very friendly, Phoenix took to him readily. Knowledgeable about dogs per his conversation. Sent a great pic of her outside with her favorite ball. Will definitely use David's services again. ”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Semora. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
