“Gina was phenomenal. I felt so comfortable having her watch George. I could tell when I came home that he was well cared for. He needs quite a few medications and Gina was very conscientious about his dosing. Bonus: my house was clean when I came home. I didn’t have to come home to dirty dishes or a full trash. I wholeheartedly recommend her!”

“David is amazing! He stayed in our home from 5 days while we we out of town and took care of our active dog, Kai. David went above and beyond, taking Kai on 3-4 walks a day, and we are so grateful. On returning, Kai was so calm and happy. David's communication was excellent. He sent pics and videos every day. He also left our house clean and neat. We would definitely use David again. Thank you David!”

“My whole experience with Mona from start to finish was excellent. She came to my home for a meet and greet right away. She is friendly, smart, efficient, kind, and respectful. She had a good sense of humor about dealing with the four spoiled cats. She called it “herding cats”. She took perfect care of my home, and even brought her own sheets and towels! I have already booked her for another stay in July. I give Mona an A++++!”

“Linneah did a great job keeping our active bird dog exercised, our indoor cat cared for, and our house in good shape during her stay. She went out of her way to make an extra stop after her stay had ended because of unforeseen travel delays. We would recommend her for future pet sitting stays!”

“Clarisa stayed at our house for 10 nights with our two dogs (an 11-year-old, 100-lb senior and a 7-year-old mix), kept them on their daily meds and routine, and walked them separately. Our dogs can occasionally scuffle with other dogs and she handled it well. Great communication before the trip and daily photos while we were gone — the dogs were clearly happy and affectionate with her. She took away all the stress and made our trip so enjoyable! Highly recommend!”

About: I am an experienced pet sitter and a registered nurse. I moved from Washington state over 6 years ago and now reside and work in Seaside. I have years experience off and on petsitting. Prior getting into nursing I was an LVT (licensed veterinary tech) for approximately 10 years. Life happens so I got into nursing. So I really miss being with animals and have enjoyed partime petsitting to be with them. I have experience working on handling dogs specifically pugs for shows and have shown and had a blast. I love dogs but also enjoy all an animals and have experience with cats, large animals including horses, donkeys, goats, cows, aquariums including tropical and salt, reptiles, birds including african greys, chickens and ducks. My clients appreciate that I have vet tech experience and am able to spot problems and am good in times of emergency. II work as a community nurse Monday thru Friday 8-4:30 and try to be flexible. I can also watch your dog(s) for up to 2 hours while youre in town so you could go out to dinner. I usually do not do over nights but I am sometimes free for this... So if you need someone for your furbabies, just ask! I am able and enjoy to pet sit part time since I work fulltime. I can try to be flexible and am more available on weekends than weekends. I am only able to do visits, and dog walking currently with my schedule and rare occasions able to stay overnight depending on situation and time.
About: Hello! We are a couple working together to build our pet care business on the West Coast! Together we have 5+ years of pet care experience between friends, family, and professional gigs taking care of furry friends. We intend to operate professionally with organized routines according to your care instructions (aka we do exactly what you say when you need it done)! Let us sit your pets so you can enjoy yourself while you’re away:) Paige and I currently do pet sitting full-time as we try to build a portfolio and customer base on the West Coast! We are available for overnight pet sitting gigs and casual drop-ins. Some weekends we have travel plans, but with enough notice those are flexible plans. We will follow any instructions provided for us exactly as directed. For drop-ins, we typically spend some time with your pet in addition to necessities like letting them out and feeding them. For longer stays we typically spend the day playing and hanging out with your pet as we would our own in addition to necessities. We always send pictures and/ or updated unless preferred otherwise.
“Ashleigh is the best and did an amazing job caring for our two dogs while we were out of town for the weekend. We felt so secure knowing she was with them and she handled our high maintenance 4 month old GSP puppy like a champ. So grateful for her!”

“Jodi was great! Our boy Joe was well cared for and seemed happy and chill when we returned. Our dog is new to us and to people warmed right up to her so we weren’t worried about leaving. The house was cleaner than we left it! We will definitely have her watch Joe again.”

About: I’ve been walking dogs and pet sitting for friends and neighbors for years, and caring for animals has always been one of my favorite parts of life. I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, loved, and totally at ease while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or just quiet company, I’m dedicated to giving your pets the same patience and care I’d want for my own. I work full-time, but I am available all day on Fridays and Saturdays. I'm also available in the early morning and in the evening any day of the week! I cannot care for your pets in my own home, but I am happy to go to clients' homes. I am in Seaside and can drive to your home to care for your pet.
“Traci was super responsive and a great sitter! We had to change our plans last minute and she was understanding and willing to work with us so that our pets could be as well taken care of as possible. She sent daily updates with pictures and video that put my mind at ease and showed us how happy our dog Ellie was with her.”
About: Ive grown up constantly having dogs around me. I’ve taken care of all different kinds of breeds so I’m comfortable with all sizes and most temperaments! My schedule is pretty open. I work later in the day so I’m available 10:00am-1:30pm Thurs-sun and Mon-Wednesday are all available! Having my own dog, I understand how important it is that they are comfortable and taken care of! I have a chihuahua with a very impatient bladder and I’m very blessed to live so close to work so I walk home every two hours to let him outside. We go for walks on the beach, hang out in our fenced back yard, or snuggle on the couch:)

About: I have been fostering kittens and puppies since i was 11 from a local shelter and taken care of family friends animals overnight and in the daytime. I love the outdoors and always looking to get outside more and take care of animals that i love. I am free most days and hours :) I care for my own animals as well as others animals as I would want my own to be cared for. I can frequently go for walks or to the park as well as make sure the animals are getting the proper amount of food, water, and rest if needed.
“Is there possibly a 10 star rating system? Asking for a friend! All silliness aside, I am afraid I might run out of space with all the amazing comments I'd like to share about Andrea. Dependable, conscientious, prompt, caring, attentive, compassionate, amazing and immediate communication, and just a first-rate professional. These are just the first few descriptors that come to mind after our experience with Andrea pet and house sitting for our family. The pups and kitty loved her and the amazing attention she and her side-kick pup Nova devoted to them. I felt my four legged kids were in excellent hands and had complete confidence my home was secure and protected too. It was so fun to get pictures while we were out of town of everyone having so much fun running around, tails wagging and tongues falling out of their cute faces. They were exhausted and slept all day after we got home. Mission accomplished. We couldn't be happier and would recommend her without any hesitation! Thank you Andrea!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Seaside
Linneah did a great job keeping our active bird dog exercised, our indoor cat cared for, and our house in good shape during her stay. She went out of her way to make an extra stop after her stay had ended because of unforeseen travel delays. We would recommend her for future pet sitting stays!

We had David and Walter house sit and take care of our large Great Dane, Scoobie, while we were out of town, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They walked her constantly, gave her so much attention, and treated her like their own. She was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for when we returned. As a Great Dane owner, you know how important it is to have people you trust with a dog her size — and they handled her beautifully. If you’re on the fence or even a little nervous about having someone stay in your home or care for your dog, don’t be. David and Walter are truly the best around. They gave us complete peace of mind, and we would absolutely trust them again without hesitation. Highly, highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seaside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seaside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seaside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
