About: I have had animals my entire life that I have taken care of and loved. I had to leave my fur babies back home for school, so I wanted another way to see some other fur babies. I am a full time college student, with classes earlier in the day, so I will be free most afternoons and early in the mornings. I will follow the normal routine of your animals within your home, and meet all their needs. I will also offer some extra love and playtime for your precious animals.
“We had a great experience with our dog sitter! They stopped by for a drop-in potty break for our three dogs — Beamer, Jax, and Beau — and took great care of them. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing someone reliable was checking on them while we were away”

About: I have been around dogs of all sizes. My dogs are both over 55 pounds and full of energy. I can handle any energy level as well. I look forward to working with you and your dogs in the near future! I am a full time behavior tech at an ABA clinic. I work 8:00-3:30 Monday thru Friday, but am free any other time of the week. I am willing to take care of your babies in your home! I provide a loving environment and will love them like I would my own.
About: Ever since I was little, I’ve loved animals. I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, took two years of veterinary classes, and even worked at a veterinary clinic as my first job. Life took me on a different route but I never stopped loving animals. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, whether they need a walk, playtime, fresh food and water, medications, or just lots of love and attention. I’m also the person who stops for every stray animal (my husband has had to remind me we can’t keep them all! 😂). I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a gecko at home. Most of them are strays so jokes on him! As a wife and mom, I understand how important it is to know your loved ones are in good hands. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and send plenty of photo updates so you know they’re happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I do work full-time, so I offer pet care before and after work, on days off, and during my available hours. This isn’t just a side job for me, it’s something I love and brings me happiness. Since I’ll be caring for your pet in your home, I always strive to keep their routine as normal as possible. And I think communication with you is key!
“Lindy is the absolute BEST!! I had to leave my kitty baby for 2 whole weeks and she really made me feel like I was still at home with her! She sent so many great pictures and videos every day and really made my girly feel so loved! I know she was super well taken care of. Highly highly recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’m experienced with cats and dogs and have personally raised a litter of kittens from birth recently. I currently have a dog that is a Australian Shepherd/Husky mix and 3 cats (a black cat, a snowshoe, and a tortie). I offer gentle, reliable care and make pets feel safe and loved. Any protocols or needs will be followed to the best of my ability. I am mostly available weekday evenings and weekends. Depending on my work schedule and work load (I work from home), it's possible that I can also be available early mornings or mid-day to drop in and check on your pets. Please reach out for any specific needs and I can see if I can make it work! I give every pet the love, attention, and patience they need to feel comfortable and cared for. I keep communication open and can send updates and photos if you’d like them. I’m attentive to body language and always respect each animal’s boundaries so they feel safe, understood, and at ease.
“She definitely gave me peace of mind for my furbies!!!!! And also kept me informed of their needs beforehand so I could order anything if need be. Will definitely be using her again! P.s. she even took out the trash I forgot about before I left! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for most of my life and have experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Growing up around animals and pet sitting for friends and family from a young age gave me a strong foundation in providing safe, reliable, and loving care. I have experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and everything in between, including feeding, walking, administering medications, and providing companionship while owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I take pride in following instructions carefully to help pets feel comfortable and secure. As the owner of a reactive and anxious Labradoodle and a strong-willed Golden Retriever mix, I have firsthand experience working with dogs that require extra patience, awareness, and positive reinforcement. I’m familiar with clicker training techniques, leash reactivity management, and creating calm, positive experiences during walks and visits. Whether your pet needs exercise, attention, medication, or simply a friendly face while you’re away, I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I give my own pets. I’m currently working part-time so I’ll have time for early morning or evening drop-ins during the week and open availability on weekends. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I understand the importance of following routines, administering medications correctly, and recognizing signs of stress or discomfort. As the owner of an anxious, reactive dog, I’m experienced in handling pets who need extra patience and attention. I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own, and I’ll keep you updated throughout every visit for added peace of mind.
About: Have had pets since I was young. Experience with a variety ranging from dogs and cats to reptiles and rodents. Newborn to seniors and special needs. Recently stopped working and soon to be an empty nester when my daughter leaves for grad school. This will give me pretty much open availability. Will care for your pet in your home as if they were my own but with your instructions. They will never lack for love and attention.

“Tessa came to check on my pets at the precise times I needed her to; on top of that, she was a very consistent communicator while I was away! I’m glad I booked with her and look forward to doing so again 🖤 10/10 recommend”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs and other animals. While I was stationed at Fort Polk, many of my fellow Soldiers would go on leave, travel home for the holidays, or be away for training. Since I stayed in Louisiana and did not travel because I purchased my home here, I was often happy to help by caring for their pets. I would feed them, take them on walks, play with them, exercise them, make sure they had fresh water, and give them plenty of attention until their owners returned. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine. I am CPR certified, physically fit, dependable, and treat every animal like family. I have a spacious home where pets have room to relax and feel comfortable, and I will always make sure they receive the care, exercise, and affection they deserve. My goal is to provide a safe, loving environment so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. As a 1099 contractor, my hours vary, which gives me the ability to work around your pet’s needs. Whether your pet needs a morning walk, midday check-in, evening care, or overnight attention, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. I understand how important consistency is, and I am committed to making sure your pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a clean, calm, and loving environment where every pet is treated like family. I am CPR certified and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. My wife and I have rescued stray cats and cared for numerous animals over the years, so we understand the patience and attention every pet deserves. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and any special requests you have. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and receiving excellent care.
“Olivia has done multiple drop in visits for me and my dogs while we are in town for hurricane relief work. We currently stay in a hotel about an hour away from work and work from the early morning till evening time. Olivia’s drop in visits has given us peace of mind knowing our dogs get to go potty, get a drink of water, and have a treat when she gets there in the middle of the day. We are so thankful we found a sitter that has been understanding, responsive, and flexible throughout the whole process. We are just sad we will be moving on to a different city soon and will have to find a different sitter. Thank you Olivia for all you have done for us!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I helped care for a litter of three dogs and later helped care for our senior dog through arthritis and other age-related health challenges, which taught me patience, compassion, and attentive care. I currently have a chocolate Labrador puppy that I’m actively training, giving me hands-on experience with puppy routines, basic training, and positive reinforcement. I’ve also cared for other pets throughout my life, including fish and hamsters, so I’m comfortable caring for a variety of animals. My goal is to provide every pet with the same love, safety, and attention I’d want for my own, while keeping owners updated for peace of mind. I’m especially available on Fridays and Saturdays, making weekends a great time to book walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting. During the week, I work Monday–Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and Sundays from 7:45 AM to 12:30 PM, but I’m available before and after those hours. No matter the day, I’m committed to providing reliable, attentive care and making sure every pet gets the time, exercise, and love they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special instructions so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. If you’re comfortable with it and your dog enjoys the company of other dogs, they’re welcome to have supervised playtime with my friendly chocolate Lab puppy for extra socialization and fun. I’ll always respect your preferences and keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in caring, reliable hands.
“Reaghan did an amazing job taking care of my cat while I was out of town! She kept in touch and sent me adorable pictures of my cat being active and happy so I didn't have to worry while I was gone. I also appreciated that she was so generous with her time over the busy holiday season. Would definitely book again!”

About: As a dog mom and fellow Rover customer, I understand how stressful it can feel to leave your pet with someone else. Especially when they have a specific routine, a lot of energy, or need extra patience to feel comfortable. I will follow care instructions closely, because the comfort and safety of your pet is my ultimate priority. I have years of experience caring for dogs and other animals, including horses, and I have a high-energy dog of my own who I actively train and work with every day. I’m especially gentle with shy or nervous animals and let pets warm up at their own pace. very pet has their own personality, boundaries, and way of communicating, and I do my best to make sure they feel understood, respected, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m currently in graduate school for communication and work part-time, so clear communication and staying organized are basically built into my daily life at this point. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I have flexibility for drop-in visits and walks throughout the week. I understand how important consistency is for pets, especially those with specific routines, high energy levels, or anxiety around new people, and I take timing and instructions seriously. I treat every visit like I’m stepping into your pet’s normal routine, not interrupting it. That means I adjust my approach based on your pet’s personality and needs. You can definitely expect regular updates, photos, and detailed check-ins while you’re away. Before visits, feel free to give me all the furry details — I want to know it all! I’ve been the pet parent with a long list of concerns and preferences too, so you never have to worry about being “too much” when it comes to your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
