About: I've had pets my entire life. I'm retired now and travel extensively for part of the year, so I'm unable to have pets of my own and thought this would be a great way to keep busy while I am in town. I have a doggy door and a large, gated backyard for games of fetch or hide and seek. I will provide a safe, loving home while you are away or drop-in if you so choose. When I'm in NOLA, I often work part-time from home. I'm retired so you could call me a homebody, and I'm often found working in my garden. In the fourth quarter of the year, I do travel until thanksgiving but will keep my calendar here updated. I am relatively flexible with scheduling. My son recently moved and took his Boston Terrier with him, so there are no longer any pets in my home. I have a large, fenced yard perfect for games of hide-and-seek or fetch, and I'm often in the back as well working on my garden. I do not have any plants that would present a danger. I love to take long, daily walks on the levee, which is only two blocks away...and would love to bring your pet along! I often have family visit, who also love pets.

About: I adopted my traveling friend's cat, Zara, for a year and a half before my friend moved back home during lockdown. Zara and I moved a few times in New Orleans, but she adjusted to our home perfectly once we were settled. She snuggled me everyday and was patient with me while I worked in the service industry. I have also cared for ducks, chickens, two older pigs, and a parrot while one of my friends left the city (New Orleans) for her birthday vacation. During this same week, I cared for my disabled friend's blind cat, shrimp tank, goldfish, and two neighborhood cats she tends to. Even though these friends lived on opposite parts of the city, I split my time snuggling with the furry pets and attended to all pets who had medication or special needs. My love for animals has expanded to animals I never thought I'd get to love on! I hope you can welcome me as your pet caretaker while you are away from home. I'm currently working as remote tutor with students from around the world! I'd love to fill my time loving on pets who will enjoy a safe and calm environment while I teach the youth English. I would love to invest full-time into sitting so, I can focus on my private clients as I progress in my new career. I have extensive experience with disabled and abused pets. I enjoy spending time with animals and being out in nature and I consider this arrangement to be less work and more fun. About: Growing up, my nuclear family cared for roughly thirty cats, both indoor and outdoor. Naturally, part of my daily routine was feeding them all before getting on the school bus, keeping the litter boxes and surrounding areas tidy throughout the day, and of course providing AMPLE love to all. I have experience nursing abandoned kittens to health and maturity, as well as acclimating feral cats into the home. I am more than keen when it comes to feline behavior! (My mother used to "joke" that her four children should come together and open a vet clinic.) Today, my husband and I have a well-trained, 3 year old shepherd mix named Poet, whom we adopted at just 8 weeks old, and a 5 year old American bobtail kitty named Millie, who we also rescued. We both work from home and our animals are our absolute lives. Normal days for us include walks around the neighborhood, as well as trips to City Bark. We have a fenced in backyard for potty time, as well as sun bathing. Both as our animal have free reign of our home; they watch TV with us, answer email with us, snooze with us, cook with us, etc.! You can trust that your fur baby would be met with the same love, adoration, and care that we provide to our own. Both my husband and myself work from home and are able to provide near-constant care for your fur babies, whether that pertain to potty breaks or play time! We have a modest fenced in yard, as well as one dog and one cat of our own. Both are friendly with all species! We have ample space (spare bedrooms) to set up up a crate/kennel if desired.
About: I’ve been taking care of my animals and others’ animals from a young age. I have a range of experience- with puppies and kittens, administering medication, unique personalities, special needs, and more. Whether its a high energy dog or a nervous and shy cat or anything in between, I have seen it all! I am flexible and willing to help in any way I can! Your pet is my priority whether I am at your place or mine. When staying at your place, I will always try to leave it neater than when I came across it. Whether its replacing batteries in your ring camera or letting the service man come in, I am available to help you in anyway you need when something unexpected occurs while you're out. Any animals staying at my home are made to feel comfortable and safe; my home becomes their home!
About: I’ve taken care my dogs my who life. They were always played with, well feed, taken on walks, and groomed to perfection. I love taking care and spending time with animals. I’m available some weekends before 3pm and during the week days I am in school so I have more free time on my hands from working. I have had dogs and cats in my life. My last pet was a female Siamese Cat her name was Nala and I had dog named Bacchus years before her and some one stole them both. But, they stayed with shot updates, vet updates, toys, stocked on food, treats, clothes, love and much entertainment from me. I also believe outside time is very important, it gives them a sense of calmness.
About: I used to work in a veterinarian hospital and also have always had pets of my own. Caring for animals has always been something I love. Transporting your animals to and from the island can be very difficult so I am more than happy to make accommodations whether that be in my home or yours. I work on our family farm from 7am to around 2pm. I am fully committed to making my schedule work around your animal’s schedules to provide the best care to them and keep them comfortable. I have a 15 acre farm that our dogs are allowed to free roam, if yours is not, kenneling is an option as well as GPS collars that are able to set perimeters.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
