About: I grew up with dogs and adopted my first after leaving home, and within 2 years adopted my second. Since the first two I have chosen to adopt senior dogs and spoil them for however many years I have with them. My current is a Pomeranian named Lucy who is @ 16 years old. She has developed adult onset Diabetes and she requires 2 injections of Ventsulin daily. I am retired and am happy to work with you and your schedule as best I can. It is my goal to make your departure as easy on you and your pet as possible. I have a fenced in backyard and because of Lucy’s advanced age I had a ramp built for her to access the yard from the deck. I have cared for cats (some kept in at all times and others allowed to go outside) and dogs who require at least 2 walks a day.
About: I’m knowledgeable in breed-specific needs and maintain consistency to keep them mentally and physically happy! I have previously taken dog behavior courses and am familiar with dog body language. I have worked with dogs of all sizes and ages! No dog is “too much!” I am comfortable with administering medications and providing grooming for long haired/high maintenance breeds. My typical shift is 8:00-4:30pm M-F. I have open availability on weekends to provide housesitting! If you are looking for constant care (pet cannot be left alone for 4 hours or more), I am happy to provide that however, I do charge a constant care rate if during the work week as I will need to take those days off and I will need to recoup lost salary. For constant care pets, I do require at least a month’s notice ahead of time so I can get that time off to accommodate. I will never take a sit if my work schedule cannot accommodate it—your pet’s care and safety is extremely important to me. I will work with you to decide if I am the right fit for your pet’s needs and routine. Nothing is worse than upsetting your pet’s routine and comfortability! I now offer drop-visits as well! This is great for people who might need someone to check in your fur baby a couple times a day but does not need around-the-clock needs. I am happy to drop in before work (8am) and can drop by after work! If you’re someone who works longer shifts, this is perfect for you! I am comfortable crating your pet if requested but they are also more than welcome to share a bed with me if they are used to sleeping with you! If you have an unfenced yard, I will keep them on leash at all times. If you have a fenced yard, I will stay out and monitor them until they are ready to come inside. Doors will be locked at all times whether I am in the home with your pet or if I’m at work. If you have any home-alarm systems, I will use them as well.
