“Steven hosted my dog over for doggy day care when I received a last minute cancellation from another sitter. All worked out great. Steven had prompt communication, understood dog behavior and needs, followed through on my requests on how to care for my dog. Perfect experience, highly recommend! My dog will be back!”

“Wonderful care for our pups! Very accommodating couple. They were helpful with directions and logistics. I’m very grateful we found them last minute so we could attend an event in the area. Would be delighted to use them again!!”

“Heather & Calob are caring dog owners and obviously take this role seriously. My service dog needed a little respite from me on a Sunday afternoon. They are a terrific choice. Thanks guys! We’ll see you again!”

“The best! We were so relaxed being able to leave Toto with Lucy and her family. The meet and greet was easy and drop off and pick up was quick too. Thanks so much and I hope next time we are in town we can look for your help again!”

“Franklin had so much fun and came back home happy and tired from all the activities he did with Heidi and Lars family. They send a lot of pictures and a detail information about what they did with him and what Franklin did. We are happy with them!”

“Allyse is incredible! She takes amazing care of our Frenchie, Franklin, and we couldn't be happier. Frenchies can have their quirks and specific needs, but Allyse handles Franklin with so much love, patience, and attention to detail. She sends great updates, pictures, is super reliable, and it's incredibly clear how much she truly cares about dogs. Franklin absolutely adores her. If you want peace of mind knowing your pup is in the best hands, hire Allyse! Highly recommend.”

About: Every dog is different and that’s how I approach care. Whether working with a high energy puppy who needs structure and consistency or a senior dog who needs patience, gentle handling and extra attention, I tailor my approach to fit their personality and needs. I provide the highest level of attention and communication. I treat every dog like they’re my own by paying attention to their behavior and comfort, and keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you always know how they’re doing. My goal is to make your dog feel happy, safe and cared for while giving you complete peace of mind. I work fully remote at home with the flexibility to take breaks as needed, go for walks and attend to your dogs needs at any given time. I have a fenced yard for outside activity while my home provides a comfortable space for your dog. I live right next to a big park that’s ideal for dogs.
“Just visiting the area and super grateful to have found Jestina so I could attend an event. She loved my energetic boxer mix as if she were her own. I appreciated the updates, pix and video, and also the warm interest she took in my own life too! (Sometimes the dogs get all the attention!) Highly recommend and will use again when in town! Thank you, Jestina!”

“I was in Petaluma for the day and Zahra did a amazing job of making him feel safe and sound while I was away. Highly recommend for senior or anxious dogs like mine. Prior to the visit, good communication. Thank you.”

“Oh my goooooodness Lady had a blast with Robyn & Jojo! This was my first time leaving Lady for a whole day of doggy day care and I can’t imagine it going any better. Robyn is a total pro and I’m so grateful to have found her :) Will definitely book again!”

“Kellie & Nate were so great to work with! They welcomed our dog in right away like he was part of the family. He got along super well with their dogs and really enjoyed their fenced yard. We really appreciated their caring attention to detail -- our dog can get an upset stomach easily, so it meant a lot that they made sure he didn't get any outside food etc. When we picked him up he was a very happy dog, which was such a good sign since he can get very anxious at times. So glad we got to meet Kellie & Nate, and hope we get to book dog-sitting with them again!”

“Lillie was great and I would highly recommend her. She watch my two puppies (3 months and 4 months old) and they had a blast! She worked on potty training and was great with them. She also was available on short noticed and was super easy to coordinate and communicate with. I am grateful to have found her!”

“Lucia is very sweet. The boys were happy to spend the day with her. She walked them early before it got too hot. They napped on her couch. Good day for me too. Thank you Lucia for spending your time with Bodi and Pepper. 🙂”

“Robert and Sheila were fantastic! They were responsive and easy to work and took great care of our little one, Shelby. Their sweet dog Yoti was patient with our timid and over-attached dog Shelby. Yoti is friendly and welcoming……just like Robert and Sheila. Their home had a beautiful back yard where the dogs can roam together, and Rob is there with them all day while he works. We were fortunate to find them.”

“Xi was fantastic with Roly. I was nervous because I've never left this pup with a sitter before. She sent me multiple videos and pictures throughout the time she was watching him and was very communicative, which is great for a nervous dog mom.”

“Jennifer was great with my senior corgi. Very good communication, sent pictures and updates and filled out the day care card so I knew all the details of Julie’s stay. Excellent dog friendly home with a fenced backyard and nice walking paths in the neighborhood. Very positive experience.”

I am so thrilled that I found Robert, Sheila and their wonderful Yodi to take care of my Winston. Winston is quite picky with who he approves of plus he has more separation anxiety now after we lost his corgi sister Abigail in March. They did a wonderful job of getting Winston feeling like at home and at ease. Yodi will definitely get to hang out with Winston more very soon! Thank you for taking care of my fur baby and give me peace of mind knowing that he is so happy hanging out with all of you!

As of August 2026, there are 2,699 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across San Antonio. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Antonio commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,699 sitters in San Antonio, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
