“Brianna and Alex are such a great find! They are easy going, fun, and attentive. Communication was great, and they sent tons of sweet pictures. We are new to the area, and I was very anxious about finding the right people to watch our sweet, little, needy Poppy. Well my prayers have been answered - thank goodness for Brianna and Alex. We will absolutely be using them many more times!!”

“Susana is an expert at taking care of dogs! She was so kind and sweet with our nervous dog, and helped him feel comfortable right away. Her home is set up to be a dog paradise, with lots of room for dogs to play and relax safely both indoors and out. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Guillermo was so helpful and great to work with! He answered all my messages right away and was very thoughtful about asking questions to make sure my nervous dog would feel as comfortable as possible. Really appreciate his help with doggy daycare so my pup didn't have to be home alone!”

“Christina and her husband were so great to work with! We really appreciated their amazing communication from the moment we requested to book. We also loved how they sent cute photos and videos of our dog so we knew he was having an amazing time! They took excellent care of him and made sure he got plenty of potty breaks. Our dog also got along really well with their dog, which helped him to be less stressed during his stay. We really appreciate Christina's help, and would be happy to book with her again!”

“I am so grateful for the wonderful day that my dog, Lexie, enjoyed while staying at Shayla and Jacob’s home. It was a hot day and they let her swim - one of her all time favorite activities. When I picked her up she was so happy, content and tried to lead me back to their home. She looked at me like, “glad you made it - now let’s go back and play at their home some more!” Thanks so much again, and we’re looking forward to future visits!”

“Sam's house is doggy paradise. Sam and Tracy are wonderful, compassionate pet parents who treated willow as if she were their own. Willow can be a little weird around other dogs sometimes, but bonded super well with Sam's huskies Winter and Storm, who are fantastic dogs and welcomed Willow into the pack readily. Amazing fenced in property makes the setup truly perfect. Highly recommend!!”

“Kushram and Family are a wonderful find for dog sitting or doggy day care. Give the initial booking request a bit of lead time, as the confirmation that the day/time works may take up to a day to come through. This time I put in a request 9:30pm on a Saturday, and got confirmation Sunday evening. (I suspect requests are processed daily). The initial booking request was the largest gap we experienced in communication, scheduling the meet and greet by messages was easy - they were very responsive and want to ensure you and your pup will be comfortable with their set up and go over any special needs of the dog. Our elder pup Rick was drawn to Kushram and the whole family even on the meet and greet (I think just his wife and adult nephew), as well the drop off day of, and they were able to make him comfortable enough to eat even on a short visit. Given our short booking (only about 3 hrs) we can't really comment on long term pictures/communication during the visit, but I can say I feel pretty happy that I found some place local where I feel comfortable leaving my dog when I need to go somewhere. They also have some experience with some dog special needs, but can help best when they know about it ahead of time. They were not concerned or put off in the slightest by our pups needs (mostly that he's pretty clingy, can get cold easily, and only has 3 teeth and will only eat small pieces of food, and doesn't love hanging out with other dogs), and described other dogs they had watched with similar or more challenging needs such as dog-sitting a blind dog in a new space. Thank you for taking good care of our pup!”

“Sophia was great with our 4 month old puppy. Sophia took great care of her, sent us updates and photos throughout the day, and was very easy to communicate with. We would definitely work with Sophia again in the future.”
“Staying with Noey is like the best day at dog camp, ever. She’s the friendliest dog lover who truly enjoys hosting play dates with her own two beautiful little furry guys. 5 stars for Noey. Best Rover In The Bay Area!”

“Kellie and Nate are so welcoming and have a beautiful dog-friendly home and awesome backyard. Their relaxed energy made me feel so comfortable to have them care for our 6-month old extra large breed Great Pyrenees/Siberian Husky puppy that we adopted just 3 weeks ago for a day while I had a job interview. I highly recommend Kellie and Nate!”

“Heidi and Lars were extremely accommodating and took great care of our boy Gryffin. I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with them. We received photos and info throughout the day. We will definitely use them again and I highly recommend Heidi and Lars for day care! Thank you for taking such good care of my boy.”

About: 💫 Enriching Experiences for your Fur Babies! ⛰️ Day Walking Trail Adventures 🤸♂️ Stimulating Play and Training 💕Loving Care and Companionship My partner, Carly, and I love dogs and dogs love us! We have an Australian-Shepherd who such a bundle of joy, energy, and excitement, always eager to make new experiences, new pet friends, and new human-bonds! I've been taking care of dogs for as long as I can remember. I've always had at least 2-3 dogs at-home, at all times. These dogs have either stayed for just the day, overnight, or have boarded with me, the longest-boarding being 2-3 months with a German-Shepherd rescue, and we always have a blast. We always seek to find a routine so as to calm any boredom or stress throughout each day! We play, take walks, hang out in the grass yard / property, and go on 1-3 miles hikes in the local area! I love to spoil every dog I have the pleasure to be around, take scenic walks, and of course taking lots and lots of pictures. Daytime Adventures: Available most weeks days (7am-4pm, pickup or drop off) to take your pup on a hike, play yard games, and practice new skills. Sitting and Boarding: Kainoa and Carly are available for night and weekend sitting or longer-term boarding with 1 week advance notice. We live on a large property with a fenced-in yard, lush green-pasture for playtime, and complete with a shaded (puppy-proof) deck! I have no problem with crate-training, my goal is to give your pet what they need to be settled, calm, happy, curious, and playful… and then to give them lots of love and cuddles and kisses!
“Jeannette and her family are amazing. My dog loves coming to their house. They are gentle and loving, which I appreciate. We've come back several times for boading and daycare.”

“Nadya was so kind and took great care of our puppy, sending photos and videos throughout his stay. We’ll definitely be reaching out again next time we’re in town and need someone to take care of Appa for the day! Thank you, Nadya!”

About: I love dogs! They bring me so much joy. I will treat your dog like a member of my family. If they enjoy snuggling on the couch, going for easy, moderate or long hikes, or sleeping in bed with me they will get what they need to be comfortable and happy. I have 20 years of experience raising and training my own dogs, working as a veterinary nurse and providing dog walking, grooming, and dog sitting services. I have an acre of land that is fenced in and safe for dogs to run and play and I live near many beautiful walking trails. I work from home so I am able to be home with the dogs most of the time. I am also happy to work with dogs on basic training needs. If your dog needs medicine or special care I am happy and comfortable providing that as well.
“Lillie was great and I would highly recommend her. She watch my two puppies (3 months and 4 months old) and they had a blast! She worked on potty training and was great with them. She also was available on short noticed and was super easy to coordinate and communicate with. I am grateful to have found her!”

“Allyse is incredible! She takes amazing care of our Frenchie, Franklin, and we couldn't be happier. Frenchies can have their quirks and specific needs, but Allyse handles Franklin with so much love, patience, and attention to detail. She sends great updates, pictures, is super reliable, and it's incredibly clear how much she truly cares about dogs. Franklin absolutely adores her. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
