“Melissa had great communication and took great care of our Labradoodle and Beagle. The weather was nice so our beagle was in and out constantly. Beagle shenanigans! We will definitely use Melissa again. I couldn’t provide additional feedback since it was grayed out but house was as we left it with no issues. Thank you, Melissa!”

“Cristin was AMAZING! She was so helpful and understanding when our flights got canceled, even adjusting her own schedule, to make sure our babies were taken care of. She was awesome with our guys and I know they were in great hands. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Cathryn did a great job with my two pups. The apartment was just as clean as it was when I left it to get and the dogs seemed to adjust just fine with no temperament issues after. She kept in contact and followed med/feeding/walking directions; even sent pics. I would definitely book again.”

“Jennifer is truly kind. Our girls took to her immediately which is unusual for them. She was very transparent, had consistent and relevant communication, and was respectful of our home. Most importantly, she cared for our girls just as we would have (honestly, probably better!)❤️”

Your home will remain clean and respected, and your furry family member will receive undivided attention, love, and dedicated care in their own familiar environment.
“Nicole was wonderful! She watched our pit mix for five days four nights in our apartment and he had a blast! We are currently in special training for Milo and she kept up with our training schedule. We were so happy that we saw progress in his training when we came home. She made sure to send lots of photos and updates throughout the stay. We highly recommend Nicole to watch your fur babies! She even took some Polaroid photos, got Milo a toy, & wrote a nice note for us to come home too. Thank you Nicole!”

About: Hi! I am an extremely dog lover. I've had rescues for 13 years. I do have a dog 1.5yr old dog that loves other furry friends. My work is hybrid, so I can rearrange my days to be home if needed. Happy to care for your fur baby in my home, or if you prefer yours, I would need to be able to bring my dog along as well. Hybrid work schedule with a relatively flexible day to day. I am a homebody, so love just hanging out at the house teaching my dog new tricks. No kids in the home. My yard is unfenced, but easy to take short or long walks as needed. My dog is kenneled when I'm not home as well.
“Tara was Great!!! She watched our Newfoundland and our daughter's deaf and blind aussiedoodle. She kept us updated and of course with lots of pictures. When we got home we could tell they were well taken care of.”

“Rachel was amazing. She was very accommodating and communicative. She treated our pets like her very own and she is definitely a dog lover. We will definitely hire her again. Thank you Rachel!!”

“Brianna was absolutely amazing! If I could give her more stars I would! She was wonderful with our 3 dogs! She did everything we asked and more! She was on time, checked in with us the whole time, she left our house so clean and nice (which I did not ask she just did) she is so incredibly nice and thoughtful she even left us banana bread and dip! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Peters
Addison was wonderful! She was on time and very communicative. My dog is pretty low maintenance so he did not require a lot of attention in that aspect but he is pretty high energy during the day and she gave him all the attention he needed - including playing fetch outside when the temps were in the 90s. I would highly recommend Addison and would love to book her again when needed!

Ruth did a fantastic job house sitting with our two dogs. She communicated regularly through the weekend and shared lots of photos. Additionally, all instructions we left were followed to a T, she did a wonderful job managing our high energy pets, and our home was left in perfect condition. Without a doubt, we will be booking Ruth for house sitting again!

We had a wonderful experience with KP and Sam during their 5-day stay in our home. They took great care of our dogs, kept us updated, and left the house clean and well cared for. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our pets were happy and comfortable while we were away. We would absolutely recommend them and would gladly use them again!

Jamie did a great job with my two dogs! One of the two, I had only rescued a month ago and he’s a little timid around strangers but, he relaxed right away with Jamie. My other dog is turning 16 this year and needs a little more TLC. Both dogs were relaxed and happy when I got back. Will definitely hire Jamie again.

Heather was AMAZING!!! Even when an unexpected snowstorm hit she pivoted to make sure my pets had everything they needed AND adjusted my rate accordingly. My house was exactly as I left it and my pets didn’t miss a beat, even the cat who usually takes a minute to warm up to people.

Becky was great!! She was on time, kept me updated with how my pup was doing while I was gone, and did her best to keep him entertained during the FREEZING weather when he couldn’t spend much time outside. He also unfortunately got a little sick while I was away and she was great at not only letting me know about it but also cleaning up too. Not only would I rebook but would also recommend to others as well!!

Marissa was great! She is such a nice person, and I was able to enjoy my time out of town even more, knowing that my dogs were happy in our home. She sent pictures of our dogs each day, and when we arrived home, she had put a cute autumn scene on our tv to greet us.😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Saint Peters on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,576 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saint Peters. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saint Peters walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saint Peters maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Peters choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
