“Riley did a great job with our dog Lola. She came to meet us ahead of time and was prompt on the actual day. Lola can be a handle but everything went well! She sent us pics and updates and the house was perfectly clean when we got home. Lola was happy!. Would definitely use her again for overnights or drop ins! Highly recommend!”

“Wonderful experience over all with Hannah! Our dog Annie is pretty nervous around new people but Hannah was so helpful with her own personal knowledge when it comes to shy dogs. She sent many photos and kept us updated while we were away. Easy booking experience as well. We would definitely book with Hannah again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs my entire life. I am part of a rescue and have had many fosters throughout my home, along with many dogs myself. I had a special needs basset hound and loved giving him the extra help he needed during his life. I also have experience with puppies, big dogs, blind dogs, and shy/breeder release! I did train my dogs starting at age 12 as well. Open at any time! Walks, potty breaks, petting session and everything in between! I have very few scheduling conflicts. Available almost all day every day :) With compassion and care. I would take care of your pet as it is needed and however you request! I would treat your animal and home as I would mine.
“Jacey was amazing with our two Great Danes. She stayed with them for two nights. She was attentive, communicative, and reliable. She handled our shy boy very well and even got some snuggles from him on the last day. We will absolutely ask for her services again.”

About: Hi, I’m Kaitlyn! I've been caring for animals of all shapes and sizes for over a decade — from tiny kittens to large breed dogs like my own lovable Cane Corso. Growing up surrounded by cats and dogs sparked a lifelong passion for animals, and I’ve been pet sitting since I was 12 years old. Whether your pet is high-energy or more laid-back, I’m confident in creating a safe, loving, and fun environment tailored to their needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’d love to meet your pet and make sure they feel right at home while you’re away! Pet care is a natural part of my daily life! I work a typical 8–5 job Monday through Friday, but I always make time for animals. I have a one-hour lunch break each day, which I use to go home and let my dog out, give him attention, and make sure he’s happy and comfortable. After work, you’ll usually find me walking, playing, or training with him—it’s one of the best parts of my day. On weekends, I’m completely available and fully dedicated to pet care, whether that’s watching over pets in my home or visiting yours. I treat every pet like they’re part of the family. Whether I’m caring for them in my home or yours, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and well-attended to. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible—feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you have. I’m patient, observant, and always respectful of each animal’s unique personality and needs. I also give regular updates so you can feel confident that your pet is in great hands while you're away.
“Breanna took wonderful care of my dog Nola. Nola is currently on medication, and I appreciated that Breanna was both experienced and comfortable with giving her her medicine. She sent updates and photos while she was here. You can tell she has a great love for dogs! I will definitely have her watch Nola again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 7 years through friends, neighbors, and family. I genuinely love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m dependable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or just extra cuddles and attention. I also understand how important communication is, so I always send updates and photos to help owners feel at ease. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, and pet sitting during weekdays and weekends. I always try to accommodate each pet owner’s routine to help pets feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I make sure pets stick to their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment and pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and needs. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is being well cared for while you’re away.

About: Hi! My name is Sage and I specialize in animal caretaking and welfare. I have lived my entire life with at least one animal in the house and I have been dog sitting on and off since high school. I am certified in three years of dog training and currently live with my lovely cat, London. I’ve never met a pet that I haven’t loved, and past employers would describe me as dependable, easy-going, and kind. My days are entirely open, except for the occasional one or two days a week where I am called in from one of my other jobs. I am also a full-time college student during the fall and winter time, but my summers are almost entirely clear. In my home, I live with my cat London, and four other housemates. If your animal stayed with me, they would never feel alone and would always have somebody in the house that can watch them or be there for all their needs. We have a lovely backyard full of grass, a back deck for lounging and sunbathing and a large neighborhood for daily walks. Your pet would feel like a king or queen in a castle! :)
About: While I grew up with many cats, I also had the opportunity to have the most lovable, goofy, and needy yellow lab for a few years. While he lived in my house, I helped feed him, take him outside/on walks, and give him his medicine too. I've gotten used to dealing with particular pets, including tricking them into taking medicine they might not want to, and getting them bundled up to go outside in the winter. I'm currently a long-term substitute teacher, so my mornings and afternoons are busy, but I'm free in the evenings and on the weekends. During the summer, I have some days/weeks where I'll be out of town, but generally am free throughout the day. I always try to go slow when meeting someone's pet for the first time, allowing them to take the time they need to feel comfortable around me. I always make sure to sit down and make myself smaller so I don't scare them, and I give them plenty of time to sniff me and my things since I do have a cat at home they would smell on me.
About: I loved going on long walks and runs with my family dog Toby… however Toby passed away last summer. But my love for dogs never changed, I felt like I wanted to surround myself with pets again to fill my itch to play with dogs and care for them. I watch my friends dogs while they are out on vacation. I also watch my family pets as well. Whenever I am babysitting kids, we all include the pets in our activities. I do have a 2 year old short haired tabby cat, he is orange and his name is Cheddar… he also acts like an orange cat too. He has a big personality and keeps me on my toes, my roommate also has a cat as well, we take turns taking care of each other’s cats. It’s nice because Cheddar sees my roommates cat as a second mom… I am new, but I am willing to get more involved with rover and build my profile. I am currently working for part time. I will be attending south central this fall, to pursue dental assisting. I decided to dog sit on the side as I am looking to make some money, but I also just really love being around and caring for pets. I can make it work around my job schedule if needed. You let me know a week in advance and I can make it work! I usually set up a meeting to meet with the owners. I like printed hand outs with instructions for their dogs and home. I am respectful of their homes and follow rules that we go over during the meeting.
About: I have loved animals my whole life. Anything that you’re little one needs, I am willing to provide. I will take good care of your pet and make sure they’re happy and healthy. I do have a part time job, but when I am not working I am available to be with your animal the rest of the time. I have a fenced in yard and two little dogs to keep your animal company. I have a crate if needed. I will give your animal the care that it needs while you’re away.
“We highly recommend Sydney! She stayed with our two dogs for three nights and was great at communicating with us when needed. She also provided pics and updates. Our flight home was a late night flight and we knew the dogs would be okay for the amount of time we planned for them to be alone, but she went above and beyond and stopped back to let them out an extra time. The dogs seemed content when we got home and I think they would give her two paws up 🐾 Thank you Sydney!”

About: I had a dog of my own for 10 years before moving away for college, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with a beloved pet. I've cared for dogs of different sizes and personalities, and I know how to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy during walks and visits. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I will treat your dog like family, provide plenty of love and attention, and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident while you're away. I am patient with shy or anxious pets and always let them approach me at their own pace so they feel safe and comfortable. While I am currently searching for a full-time job, I wanted to spend my time doing something meaningful that I genuinely enjoy. Caring for pets is a perfect fit because I've always had a love for animals, especially dogs. Being able to help pet owners while spending time with wonderful pets truly feels like a win-win situation. In a client's home, my main priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so I do my best to follow the owner's instructions closely. I am comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, large dogs, and shy or anxious pets. I always let pets approach me at their own pace so they can feel comfortable and build trust. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise and attention, and receive any medications or special care as instructed by their owner. I also believe communication is important, so I will send regular photo and video updates so owners can see how their pets are doing while they're away. My goal is to make your pet feel happy, cared for, and as comfortable as possible until you return home.
“Bobbie was great! We were so nervous, but she sent us photos of the dogs every visit and even did extra activities with them like reading to them and an art project! One dog had some inflammation while we were gone and she was great about the sudden change of having to administer medication and give that pup extra exercise. We will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs my whole life. I’ve had pretty chill dogs, rough dogs, and dogs that run away any chance they get. I’m prepared for any dog that I can take care of. I do have another job working an asphalt and sealcoat business. But we only work days when it’s not wet after rain or not raining at all. I work out a lot. Other than that I’m open at any time. And I can do over night. I feed my dogs and let them out whenever they need to be let out. If they need specific things such as to be kenneled or anything of that nature I can easily do. I can also keep company with the dogs and play with them.
About: Hi there! I'm a proud dog mom to a sweet Mini Goldendoodle named Finley. Growing up, I was surrounded by animals and loved helping care for them — my passion for animals has been with me ever since! I truly adore all animals and would treat yours like my own! I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide attentive care throughout the day. I have a full hour for lunch and am finished with work by 5 PM, so your pet will have lots of attention, playtime, and love. When I visit, I focus on helping your dog feel safe and comfortable by following their routine, using a calm, gentle approach, and letting them warm up to me at their own pace.
About: I have taken care of pets (mainly dogs) for many years. I have expertise in walking, training, and making sure your pet gets the best care on a regular basis. I am currently in college and have classes M,W,F. I work at a daycare so my hours are different everyday but I still have availability to care for your pets! My weekends are always open. I am looking forward to help out! I care for pets how their owners care for them. I provide them with a caring personality and follow their routine and owner's regulations. That could be going on walks, feeding them, and playtime. Most importantly I want them to be comfortable with me so do that I think it is important to do things with them that they are familiar with.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saint Clair walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saint Clair maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Clair choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
