“Aislin was absolutely wonderful to work with! She took great care of Bonnie....she sent messages and pictures while I was gone. When I returned, Bonnie was completely relaxed and calm, so I know that she was well cared for. Aislin also took great care of my house. Everything was neat and tidy when I returned. She was very flexible and willing to help out when I had a delay in my flights. She was also very responsive to any messages I sent. I highly recommend Aislin and will definitely be calling on her the next time I need to be out of town!”

About: I love caring for animals of all shapes, sizes, and species but my favorite creatures to look after are fish! I have over 7 years of experience in fish care and husbandry from a variety of settings; whether you need me to raise juvenile cichlids while you’re out of town, or just make sure your tank hasn’t exploded, I’m your guy. I work in the pet care industry so I also have experience with reptiles, small animals, and of course dogs and cats <3 I work mornings so I will always be available after 3:30pm for any drop in visits or house sitting! I typically have weekends off but, I am able to switch shifts around if your pet has specific needs. I do rent, so I am unable to board pets. As far as looking after your pets in your home I assure you there is no need to worry, I will look after your belongings better than my own! I prefer to do meet and greets and learn the ground rules before committing to a job, this also gives us an opportunity to start building some trust.

About: I have taken care of dogs my entire life. I am part of a rescue and have had many fosters throughout my home, along with many dogs myself. I had a special needs basset hound and loved giving him the extra help he needed during his life. I also have experience with puppies, big dogs, blind dogs, and shy/breeder release! I did train my dogs starting at age 12 as well. Open at any time! Walks, potty breaks, petting session and everything in between! I have very few scheduling conflicts. Available almost all day every day :) With compassion and care. I would take care of your pet as it is needed and however you request! I would treat your animal and home as I would mine.

“Emily is exactly what you are looking for when you go on a trip and have to leave your fur kids behind. She asked great questions on the front end, was very responsive when we texted, and our boys loved hanging out with her. She was cleanly in our house and cleaned up after herself also. Overall - I’d rate 10/10 and would recommend her to everyone who needed a dog sitter”

About: Hi there, I'm Liz! I'm excited for the opportunity to meet and care for your pet. I grew up on a farm in northern Minnesota, where my family raised beef cattle, sheep, chickens, and horses. Animals are and always have been a huge part of my life. I now live in Mankato with my Mini Goldendoodle, Winston, and I was a high school Agriculture teacher. I take the responsibility of caring for animals seriously. In college I took a variety of animal science classes covering small and large animal care and handling, nutrition, and vet science. I started this service because of Winston. When I worked 10-hour days, I couldn't justify leaving him home alone that long. A friend who worked from home offered to take him for the day, and it was worth every penny, for my peace of mind and for his health and well-being. That's the care I wanted for my own pup, and now I can offer it to yours. With winter coming, I know how hard it is to get outside when it's dark and freezing. I make sure Winston gets plenty of exercise all winter long, and I'd love to do the same for your dog. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, day sitting, and boarding. Please feel free to reach out about any of them. I look forward to working with you and your pets! Pet care is already part of my daily routine. I have my own pup, Winston, so walks, playtime, and exercise are built into my day, and caring for other dogs fits right in! I grew up on a farm, so animals have always been part of my life. I'm reliable and flexible, and I make sure every dog gets plenty of exercise and attention, even through Minnesota winters. Your dog's safety comes first. I follow your routines for feeding, medications, and walks, and I keep dogs on a leash and under close watch whenever we're outside. I grew up around animals and studied animal care, handling, and vet science, so I stay calm and know what to look for. I send updates so you always know how your pup is doing.

About: I’m recently retired and have had dogs all my life, since being 7 years old. I had to put my last fur baby to sleep in January 2026, and my significant other's dog to sleep in September 2026. We will be traveling over the next few years so don’t want to get another right now, and really miss having a doggo around! I used Rover quite a bit when I had dogs so would love to pay it forward and help someone else. Plus then I hopefully will get my "fix"! Live in Madison Lake with my significant other and am currently very flexible, having just retired. I usually walk first thing in the morning and then after dinner when weather permits. I love to hang outside and read on the deck overlooking the lake, or work in the garden beds, so can take your dog on the leash outside too to be in the fresh air if they like that sort of thing. My first choice would be to host dogs in our house as we have a pretty good set up for dogs. But I'm willing to drive to Mankato or St. Peter area for pet sitting or dog walking because I understand some dogs are just better off in their own space, if it's a short timeframe.

About: What sets me apart is my diverse, hands-on experience caring for animals of all kinds. Through several years of pet and house sitting on TrustedHousesitters, I've provided reliable, loving care for dogs and cats. I understand that every animal has unique needs and personality traits, and I take pride in creating a safe, calm, and nurturing environment while you're away. My goal is to give both pets and owners complete peace of mind. Because I work remotely, pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent attention, companionship, walks, feeding, and check-ins throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for extended periods. I enjoy incorporating exercise, outdoor time, and enrichment activities into my day while ensuring each pet's individual needs and routines are maintained. My ability to travel also gives me the flexibility to accommodate house sitting and extended care opportunities. Having spent several years caring for dogs and cats through TrustedHousesitters, I am comfortable adapting to different homes, routines, and animal personalities. Whether it's daily walks, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I prioritize making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Good Thunder

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 85 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Good Thunder. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Good Thunder walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Good Thunder maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Good Thunder choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
