During a recent backpacking trip in the Grayson Highlands, I had an experience that perfectly illustrates this: a fellow hiker’s black lab approached me with such immediate, heartfelt recognition that the owner was completely taken aback. It felt as though we were long-lost companions reuniting. She came rushing to me, whining and crying with pure joy, and when I came down to her level, she immediately laid on me, whimpering and cuddling. 🥹 This is the energy I bring to every interaction. About: Dear Pet owners, My name is Dave and have been watching pets now for about 10 years on and off. Mostly local and for friends and family. Now that I've discovered Rover I'd like to branch out a bit and meet new four-legged friends and their owners too. I enjoy taking dogs for walks around their neighborhoods, local conservation sites and to the beaches in the off-season. I've taken care of both cats and dogs and houses and plants too, at all times of the year. I know the area fairly well and I enjoy the elements no matter what they bring here in New England. I'm good at following specific diet rules as many of our pets are picky and some may get sickly otherwise. I enjoy playing with pups and lounging with the older dogs too. I'm fairly flexible when it comes to where I'm staying if it's overnight and not shy when it comes to cleaning up after a pets mess here and there. Overall I like dogs and cats, we seem to get along well and we often have a good time and they are always well taken care of while they're owners are away.

About: I’ve taken care and walked dogs since I was around 12 and I have also taken on foster kittens since I was 10. I have also had neighbors rely on me to check and take their pets out when away on vacations. I currently work part time at PetSmart taking care of all the animals within the building including fish, reptiles, birds and small animals while also interacting with dogs daily and even assisting in practicing basic training skills. (Sit, stay, down) I can crate dogs if necessary as well as work on basic training skills for younger dogs. “Jen was the best sitter I could have found for my 115lb. Golden. I knew the day I met her and watched how Charlie reacted with her that she would be the person I could trust to stay with him. It was our first time leaving Charlie with anyone other than family, also it was the longest amount of time we would be gone. She stayed with Charlie for 6 days and 5 nights. Our flights were delayed both going and coming home. Jen was so accommodating, she came earlier than I had booked her for and stayed later at the end. I was completely at ease knowing Charlie was going to be so well cared for, even loved. He's such a creature of habit and Jen followed our routine perfectly. It was obvious from the way he reacted to Jen that he knew she was a good person and a dog lover. I am often called upon to dogsit when family & friends go out of town, I have lots of experience house/dog sitting and when the owners return they always are impressed with how their dog and home were taken care of. I have a rescue dog named Finley who is my whole world so you can rest assured I will treat your dog as my own and spoil them with lots of cuddles and belly rubs. I’m a teacher so weekends I’m always free and am usually always with my dog. I’m available most afternoons for drop in visits or to take your dog for a walk. Summers are also a time when I am completely free and would love to be able to care for your dog(s) while you enjoy a summer vacation! I have a fenced in backyard and a very friendly hound mix dog to keep your dog company. She loves to play and wants to be friends with every dog we meet. I can also easily crate your dog if needed.

About: I’ve had dog(s) since before I was born and I try to make sure that they receive adequate back rubs, treats, and outfits in addition to their basic care. As a kid I watched many neighbors dogs while they were on vacation and I am always the first one to fill a food or water bowl At this time I have a wide range of availability to care for dogs in my schedule. I am open to different care options to best meet the dog’s needs I have a fenced in area where my three dogs are able to let themselves in and out via doggy door. They can have as much food as they want as they are feeder fed.

About: Hi there! My husband and I are the ultimate dog people. We both grew up with dogs and have been caring for them on and off Rover for years! We took a break from this app as we had a couple of regular pup clients but we are back and eager to meet yours!!! We have been caring for dogs for over 25 years. We are very active and we love hikes in the state forest or long walks on the trails of Pinehills, Hedges Park, Plymouth Long Beach, and the canal. We live 2 houses down from Bloody Pond if your pup enjoys swimming!! We have a mellow 3 year old boxer named Polly. She is such a little love, more mellow than your typical 3 year old boxer, is great with all dogs, and can often be found sun bathing on our back patio. Although not completely fenced in, we have a tie out run and live on a dead end street. We both have very flexible schedules which makes for great availability. We will always do our best to accommodate requests! Drop ins and dog boarding are mostly what we do but don’t hesitate to reach out re: dog walking and house sitting. Please note, meet and greets are required for all dog boarding and house sitting requests. Our yard is 3/4s fenced in and we live on a dead end. Dogs are NEVER off leash without owner permission and our full trust in the pup.
